Love the staff. Love the food. Love the fact that you can sit and have a conversation with coffee and leave not smelling like you've been soaked in burnt coffee beans. There is nothing they've made that I didn't like, and I am super picky. They use fresh, in-season ingredients and make everything from scratch, and they make lots of vegetarian and gluten-free foods (and can easily be talked into making something special for you once you become a regular, WHICH YOU WILL). My personal favorites: Pita sandwich, vegetarian chili, French lentil salad, lemon pesto pasta salad, Mojo cookies, Congo bars, and the Mediterranean plate (their hummus is spectacular, and you get two kinds!), and the raspberry white chocolate scones. I have been going practically daily for close to a year and they have an endless supply of recipes -- there is always a new thing to try or a new recipe that doesn't disappoint. They're considering doing a Sunday brunch once a month but right now are only open M-F 7-3ish -- tell them Audrey sent you!

Pros: Best everything in town

Cons: not open weekends or for dinner :(

Ratings_icons Best Salads, Sandwiches, Entres & Deserts!

I have worked in Seattle for years and have gone out to pick-up lunch nearly everyday. I used to go to lots of different restaurants and would eventually grow tired of them. I have been going to Two Tartes nearly everyday for over a year now and each visit is like the first due to their daily specials. Everything is not only fresh but you have your choice of hearty comfort food, something a little more gourmet or somewhere in between. The owners and their employee's passion is evident in their food and the kindness they share with all who walk in the door. Don't leave without a cookie or cupcake! Yum!
Also whenever I need an appetizer or desert plate for an after work get together they "hook me up". Aggressively Uncool....It's true! No attitude here....only the good kind!!!

Pros: Easy to park

Cons: None

Ratings_icons For a great home cooked meal go to Two Tarts in Georgetown!

I work have worked in the Sodo District for last 15 years. I have been to every restaurant in a 5 miles radius of my desk. Always in search of great lunch that is different from what I ate the day before. Then I found Two Tarts Cafe and Catering. Love that place! Every day they offer 2, made form scratch soups and entrees that range from the best Meatloaf and Mashed Potatoes to Pork Chile Verde served over rice to the most comforting mac & cheese you have ever had. And for those days that you want to eat a lighter, leaner lunch, they always have a selection of freshly made green salads, pasta salads and Quiches or you can keep it simple and custom order your Deli sandwich!
And I haven't even mentioned the desserts....the BEST brownies you have ever had..and cupcakes...and cakes ...and lemon bars....and if you time it right , you can get a chocolate chip cookie as it is coming right out of the oven. As an every day customer of Two Tarts the only other important issue to note is not only will you get great food, most likely you will be entertained by the staff and they have free parking!

Ratings_icons The best lunch spot you've never heard of in Seattle

The first time I walked into Two Tartes Cafe, I had a feeling that my experience was going to be a good one. I had heard about the food from a coworker of mine who frequents the place almost daily. And he was aboslutely dead on - the food is REALLY GOOD. They have a daily lunch special entree that generally brings back memories of the good old days of mom's cookin. Only it's WAY BETTER than my mom's. The meatloaf is amazing. Or one time, they had Beef Stroganoff. BEEF STROGANOFF! How many places serve that? Anyway, the entrees are wonderful. The sandwiches are solid - they have meatloaf sandwiches sometimes too =) But they use fresh ingredients and the meat seems to be of a much higher quality than you usually get from most sandwich shops. But I think the best thing about Two Tartes is the staff. They have a really wonderful cast of characters working there from the two ladies that own it to the gal who works the front - she's absolutely hilarious! They're so friendly and it really keeps me coming back. If you're in Georgetown for lunch you're missing out. If you're downtown, it's worth the drive. Check out their menu online and call your order in. Believe me, it's worth it. If you're paying what? 7 8 9 10 bucks a day anyway you might as well spend it on some really great food that will fill you up and is not a total grease bomb. So check it out - they have awesome coffee and espresso drinks too. And deserts to die for.

Pros: All the food I've tried there has been absolutely delicious; the service is fast, friendly and fun; cool neighborhood feeling and atmosphere

Cons: Can be pretty crowded during lunch hours, snag a table while you can; their soft drink case could use some work
