My husband and I recently purchased several lamps at Antique Lighting. We very much appreciated the knowledgeable and courteous assistance we received from Marva Lougee and Kristine Kyle; their expertise was a big factor in us giving them our patronage.
They had an amazing selection of beautifully crafted lighting, including many pieces from local artists.
We would recommend them to anyone.

Pros: Great Selection, Knowledgeable sales staff (love the shop dogs)

Everyone loves old lamps, and everyone wants to avoid the made-in-China trap. Which is why my wife and I spent $500 or more (my memory slides - time heals all wounds?) on a "French" lamp in the spring of 2007. The misleadingly-friendly staff told me they were out of stock on the item we wanted. But that they could give us the display model. There would, however, be no refunds.

Now, on the naive assumption they would not sell me a chipped model, we happily and sucker-ly agreed to the expensive purchase. At home, while my wife was singing the company's praises, my kind landlord who was installing the lamp was unusually quiet. If you can't say anything nice?... We realized why when we saw the numerous chips, dust and cracks that had been hidden to us, but were obvious to the employees who carefully boxed the thing.

My wife went down to the shop to complain - they were very rude when they realized she wasn't going to buy an additional lamp. They made no effort to rectify the situation - we didn't want a refund, just a trade - and I suspect the only reason they feigned interest at all was because of the poor sap who was in the shop ordering thousands of dollars of light fixtures for his house. The Antique Lighting Company are greedy liars, and we should all welcome the comparative honesty of Home Depot, Lowe's, etc.

So in the end China did not rip me off for $50. The Antique Lighting Company did for 10 times that.

Pros: They have lamps - some made not in China!!

Cons: They will rob you dearly

While the selections are probably some of the best in the area, I am disappointed. I ordered a custom fixture that cost $1500. I was told the artist would be firing my glass bowl the next day, but because of the busy schedule the driilling and the hardware could not be done until 3 weeks later. I watched the sales person put my order down in their appointment calendar to be worked on those days. I left the store with a date that it would be ready. The day before the date, I had not heard from them, and called to follow up. They did not have an answer for me, so would call me back. When they returned the call, I learned there were delays, and I would have to wait another week. I am disappointed that I was not notified about the delay, and their attitude about it. I believe if I had not called, they would not have given it priority, and the delay would have been longer than a week.

Pros: small selection but the best of the best. great for craftman and antique homes

Cons: limited parking, higher prices with lower than expected service, unsatisfactory follow up

I came across this business on a Google search for an obscure part and they had it with excellent service and friendly smiles. My regular electrical supplier did not have it nor did they show any interest in helping me solve my problem. The showroom alone is woth visiting if you are a builder, remodeler or lighting designer.

This store is the place to go for your lighting needs. You get such a warm and cozy feeling when you walk in. The staff is very knowledgeable and friendly. You can customize your light fixture. If you see a fixture you like and then find a shade on another, you can have it made. I purchased a chandelier there that I absolutely love and I know that I will not find it everyone else's house. Have someone come out to your house for a consultation. I did and I now look at lighting with a different perspective.

I finally made it into the store this week and what a nice experience. First off the staff were really great, very helpful but also honest and down to earth. But what I really liked was just being in the store. it was warm and spacious and I could browse at leisure to get a feel for all the different lighting concepts. I did not want to leave. Very nice experience!!
