I recently built my first subdivision here in Clark County. Being new to the game, I didn't know much about it. One of the banks I was dealing with suggested that I give Wubben a call because they were the best outfit in town. I contacted their office when I was in the beginning stages of planning and I was surprised how much they were willing to work with me on the planning and Value Engineering. They were able to help me and my engineer foresee potential problems and hurdles and solve them before they became an issue. I definitely got the feeling that they were genuinely looking out for my best interest. And they did all of this at no cost.

When it came time to get bids on the project, obviously I asked Wubben to bid on it but the bank had suggested that I get a couple additional bids. After speaking with three other local contractors, I set all four bids side by side. The estimates were surprisingly competitive. All were within about 5% or so. Wubben wasn't the lowest number, they were close to 2% higher than the lowest price, but the value they had brought to the table in the early stages and the reputation that they have built as a 'follow through' contractor easily made up for difference and then some. The way I saw it, it was a no brainer.

After officially hiring them to do the work, I was again impressed with Wubben Bros. They were onsite and moving dirt within a day of signing contracts. They were taking care of scheduling their own surveying and staking, subcontractors, and inspections. It was like all I had to do was to sit back and watch these guys make my project become a reality. Their onsite foreman was very knowledgeable and friendly. I would occasionally come out to the site to see how things were progressing and he would never be too busy to greet me with a smile and a handshake. He would take time to answer any questions I had and walk me through what they were in the middle of doing. He even gave me a hard hat and allowed me to watch as the crew did the sewer tie in.

When problems did arise, I always felt like they were very up front and honest. I understand that in this business there are unknowns and unforeseeables, but as a developer, you have to plan for this as much as possible and hope that whoever you hire to do the work is doing everything they can to minimize this extra cost. I felt that the time I spent with this company before construction helped to avoid a lot of these possible situations. They could have just as easily not brought something up and waited until the contract was signed, then turn around and hand me a change order so they could make an extra buck, but you can really see that these guys are serious about return customers.

When it was all said and done, I ended up coming in under budget and I was signed off about three weeks sooner than we had anticipated. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Wubben Bros to anyone who was looking to build a subdivision or commercial building and I look forward to our next project together.
