We booked our room a year in advance for the 2014 Oktoberfest Festival which happens every year in our home away from home, Leavenworth. After booking our reservation and receiving an email that told us our room reservation request was approved and then we were given a conf. #, we thought we were set to go! When the time came and we got to the Inn we found out that they didn't have our reservation. I asked if I could use their computer to find and print up our conf. email which I did. We were then told they had cancelled our reservation "two days" after we booked it and our room was then given away and reserved to one of there "regular" guest's. So there we were in a town that was "fully" booked with our elderly parents who had already driven two hours to get to our house and then traveled another three hours to Leavenworth to find they had given away our room. We requested a call from Shea, the Inn Manager and she told us that our booking didn't fall within their "1 yr.-3 day rule" (whatever that means, it was never made clear to us) so she cancelled our reservation and gave it to someone else. Leaving us with no where to stay in town and my elderly parents in tears. Shea did not call us to apologize for the situation but argued with us instead and basically told us it was our faults. Leavenworth is our town and we love it and this situation that has happened with the Evergreen Inn and Shea will not change that. We will however, NEVER stay at the Evergreen Inn again and will tell all our Friends and Family to avoid the Evergreen Inn whenever possible. Terrible experience and terrible non-existent customer service recovery. To anyone out there reading this, please be warned. Thank you.

First off, I must say Leavenworth is a wonderful town to visit especially during Christmas time when the town is rife with lights and Christmas cheer. However, my experience at the Evergreen Inn was not a favorable one. When I made reservations for a two night stay, I was promised 2 crosscountry skiing passes along with my rental as a Winter Package. However, upon arrival, the front desk informed me that these were not available until January. The website and the receptionist I spoke with earlier failed to mention this detail, providing an immediate disappointment upon arrival. The outside of the motel fits nicely with the themed Leavenworth German town; however, inside, the rooms are drab and worn. The TV was missing its remote and the up and down channel button on the TV set was snapped off. When I mentioned this to the front desk, they were indifferent. I had to use a plastic stirring stick to advance the channels. If this were NYC, this would be a minor inconvenience but in Leavenworth, where the town shuts down around 9PM, a fully functional TV would have been nice. The mattress was warped and the bedding old. Both mornings I woke up with back pains. Also the dingy grey Venetian blinds do not block out the early morning sunlight (I hung up the bed cover to darken the room). The inside furniture reminded me of my spartan college apartment living, functional but old, worn, and split-pea soup unattractive. The beside table was missing its handle. To use, I found I had to insert my key and draw the drawer open. The bathroom was clean but missing soap (shampoo was oddly available though). Overall, driving around town, it appeared there was much better quality of hotels elsewhere, and I'd advise a reader to consider them, unless you like using your Swiss Army Knife.

Pros: Attractive outside, cabin-like feel and picturesque view of the mountains

Cons: A worn interior with glaring flaws

I have stayed at the Evergreen Inn twice now. Their staff is friendly and very helpful...full of suggestions on how to entertain ourselves for a weekend. For a good price, four of us got a nice room that slept 6 (no need to invade each other's space) that was only a few blocks from downtown Leavenworth. Only complaint would be that they have no pool. Otherwise, I will probably stay there again when I return to LIttle Bavaria.

PROS: Cute and quaint, close to town, extremely affordable
CONS: No pool

My friends and I went to Leavenworth over Memorial Weekend. We booked the hotel on line without even seeing it. We were fairly close to downtown. Just two blocks away. We had a room that had 2 bedrooms 1.5 baths, 3 beds, couch, and a kitchenette. Our rate was only $120 a night!!! I only have two complaints....no pool and uncomfortable beds. The price was great and I'd stay there again.
