Let me ask you: if you had to choose between a vet who was grumpy but who was great at healing animals, and a vet who had amazing positive vibes but was sub-par at healing animals, which would you choose? If a real friendly cheerful staff is your priority go to this place! Otherwise, find someone else!

Dr. G (as he is called at the clinic) has cared for both of my dogs since I got them. His prices are lower and his services better than any of the animal clinics I've tried. This past year, my dog Roscoe developed cancer in his jaw. Dr. G was incredibly supportive, discussed all our treatment options with us at great length, and helped us make the best decisions we could. He and his staff were always available, always concerned, and seemed almost as devoted to Roscoe as we were. Under his care, Roscoe lived twice as long as his predicted survival time had he undergone chemotherapy. Dr. G provided us with all options, from traditional medicines to alternative and homeopathic treatments. In the end, the Doctor came to our home and performed Roscoe's euthanasia here, so that he did not have to die in a clinic. I am tremendously grateful to Dr. G and the entire clinic staff for making Roscoe's last six months as good as they could possibly be. I will continue to take my animals to Helping Hands, even though I now live in West Seattle and it is quite a drive. They are worth the extra effort.

I do not like this doctor at all. He will not stop talking and does not listen to what I say. I end up leaving without any questions answered and just listening to whatever he wants to say about my dog.

I was referred by a friend to Helping Hands 2 years ago for my elderly Lab with mobility & GI problems. She got a new "lease on life" with combined traditional & alternative treatments, I have also taken my 2 other dogs for dentals & am pleased with their care. Dr. G & associates are knowledgable & compassionate & staff members always friendly & courteous. I feel my dogs & I are cared for when we go to HH. There was some front desk confusion, but that has improved with appointment scheduling. Wait time has improved but sometimes there is still some waiting as the vets get behind schedule when extra time is needed for a patient. I would rather wait than have my pet rushed through on an assembly line. I don't understand people complaining about the prices--compare with other clinics & HH gives more for the $. They also allow clients to fill prescriptions online or at less costly pharmacies (like Costco) without an extra charge, as some vets do.
In reply to "misdiagnosed"--the long ranting post where HH was blamed for the dog's death from heart failure. Thyroid disease affects the whole body, including the heart. From your post, it seems that you waited too long to bring the "lathargic" dog for treatment, then expected the vet to perform a miracle.
In reply to an old post--"holistic" is a catchall word for alternative medicine & has nothing to do with declawing cats or food brands. These things are personal choice. Declawing has become unfashionable in some circles but is sometimes necessary for a cat to keep it's home. Same goes for debarking dogs.
Some people are not happy unless they are complaining about something!
A big thumbs up for Dr. G, Dr. Guidry, & everyone else at Helping Hands!

We loved the Vets at the office but the receptionists have misplaced or lost our dogs records on more than 1 occasion. The first time they informed us our dog needed 2 shots so we brought him in and when we got there they found the record that indicated the shots had already been received. The second time I took our dogs in for their annual check up and while I was there they told me I needed to pay for my dogs nails being trimmed in the previous month, before they would provide any services. My husband and I trim our own dogs nails and have never taken them in. The receptionist actually argued with me about it dog coming in for his nails to be trimmed. The date she gave was 2 days after I had just delivered our new baby... My husband and I had come home from the hospital with an infant on the day we supposedly took our dog in... The most recent mistake, we are being told we haven't taken my one of our dogs in in 2 years. She was spayed a year ago at that office and I was in the room the week before she was spayed when she received all her shots. They're saying she never received any shots at that time.

We are currently searching for a new Veterinary office because of the receptionists mistakes. It does no good to have a great Vet if your records are continuously mixed up and lost.

I thought I would give this vet clinic a try and had the weirdest experience ever. These people do not practice what they preach. They were cold and impersonal. Not once during my entire visit did any employee smile, make eye contact or even greet my dog. I could have been carrying a brick for all they cared. After a 20 wait from my appt. time I was led into an exam room where I was worked over like I was in a car dealership. They gave me a sales pitch on 3 price levels to neuter my dog, with the lowest price excluding pain meds, heart monitoring during surgery and a couple other exclusions I can't remember. I was made to feel guilty if I didn't choose the most expensive "Platinum" package. ABSURD!!! In my opinion a good vet would do all the right things, PERIOD, and not offer something sub-standard. They also tried selling me various care packages with different discounts if you took one with the other etc. Too hard to understand much less explain here. They appear to be more interested in getting as much money out of you as they can, rather thanyour animal's wellness. After the 20 min sales pitch the doctor came in and again, was very impersonal. She didn't even greet my dog. Like I said it could have been a brick laying on the table. I will never go back and will not recommend this place even to my worst enemy.

Suddenly, I'm disappointed. Finally, I thought I had found a Vet that appeared to care more for the animal than the fee. Originally I was pleasantly surprised by the great care my animal received and how they asked what I could afford. My most recent visit found them in a newly redecorated offices in an over-priced style, uncomfortable chairs, and where the prices have soared and compassion for both my animal and me must have been thrown out with the old furniture. I am so upset. Driving from Seattle, this Vet is no longer worth the cost of gas, the newly over-priced fees, and compassion also went into the dumpster. Now what do I do to get great care and still be able to afford it?!

I have went to this clinic for many years and i used to love the environment and how loving and caring the staff was. they made you feel like they were going to take the best care of your animal possible. when i came in on my visits before the staff was always glowing and having a good time while they worked and i think that made them work better as a team. WELL with in the last 6 months and when they moved into there new clinic i feel as though they are just trying to get there sales up.and before it was walk in and appointments which was so great because if there was an emergency you could take your pet to your doctor who you feel comfortable with and now there is no walk ins, i feel as if i come home and my pet is sick and needs care right away i would want to take him to my vet not an emergency vet where im overcharged and treated like crap. All of the staff are great wonderfull people and i think they need to get back to focusing on our pets and not trying to sell us stuff we dont need or want. whoever took over has made the atmosphere of the clinic feel a lot less comfortable and MORE stressfull. I love the doctors and the staff so i will keep going there and i would recommend you to take your pet there too.

I think the staff needs to get back to there old ways when they were in the old clinic. It feels like they are pressured to sell us stuff we dont want or need, so they can pay for there fancy new clinic. Although it is a very nice new clinic its just not the same. what i liked most about them before was when i needed something i would ask them or when my pet needed something they would just remind me and not pressure me into buying something.

I hope this review helped people. The doctors are so wonderful and will get your pets the care they need.

Great Dr. also great staff we took our stray cat Molly to the clinic due to some kind of trauma her whole back end. She would not move. The clinic nurse that checked her in was wonderful caring and gently approached her taking her vitals. My friend being on low income, was worried about the bills and being judged about our financial situation. I dont remember her name but she has a great smile and the curliest hair there. She sat down and talked to us reassuring us there was no need to feel that way It would not be anything judgemental in this clinic we only do whats right for the animals and work with the clients if need be and that everything would be on an estimate. After taking the time to talk to us and Molly's vitals she discovered Molly had a high fever. She should us how to alcohol her paw pads and went to speak to the Dr. immediatly. This curly haired nurse in pink was very attentive to us and Molly until the Dr, came in. Unfortunately we had to put her to rest. That was upsetting but I never felt judged or treated badly for our decission my only regret is that the nurse that checked in left and another gal came although nice I would have preferred to have the other original nurse there as she was the one we were comfortable with and felt she was more careing in our situation not just rushing us out to end her day. I highly reccomend this clinic and the Dr.'s there if you'r lucky encough to get the curley haired nurse with the great smile in pink you will be in the best hands. Hopefully the nurse reads this because I never got to thank her for her attention and care and genuine understanding.

I started taking my animals there for over a year and I find these Dr's are more for caring for your animal than getting big bucks out of you because you actually take a pet to the Dr. I have 4 senior dogs, birds and they all go there now. I even have recommended my adult kids take their pets there. I have found the best and compassionate care there then anywhere else!

Every time I have taken my dogs to Helping Hands whether it be for regular check ?ups or for something more serious, we have been met with kindness, genuine caring and the knowledge of experienced vets and clinicians. I am so very fortunate to live just a few minutes from a veterinary clinic, which has won awards for it?s excellence, and lives up to this excellence day in and day out. My two Havenese puppies and I are very satisfied customers.

I only have been to this clinic once before and that was just to get my dog his pre-neuter check up. My pre-neuter exam was very uncomfortable. The nurse never introduced herself and kept saying "Oh! She's so sweet!". Maybe it was just because it was late in the evening that she had gotten things mixed up but the fact that she kept going on and on about how cute "she" was irritated me. As well as when I would ask questions she would act stumped and run around my question like it didn't matter. After that, I was so relieved to go home and be done with her. But to my dismay SHE was the one giving me my dog after the surgery as well. Again, she wasn't very informative and continued to call HIM a "SHE".... She was fairly small-framed and had medium length brown hair. WHATEVER YOU DO TRY TO AVOID HER IF YOU GO TO HELPING HANDS! That will save you a LOT of irritation, trust me.

Also, when I dropped my dog off in the morning of his nueter, I had a blond sergical attendant that was unnaturally rude. I just brushed it off for the most part until she walked out of the room while i was asking a question. I'm absolutely thrilled to have Dr. G as my doctor so I still went through with the surgery. But if it wasn't for him, I most likely wouldn't go back to helping hands again. Hopefully those two girls will learn how to act and treat clients.

I have been taking my dog, Gypsy, to Helping Hands for 8 years now. I am there a lot as I have an older dog with lot of back problems and she gets regular acupuncture and chiropractic care. I always got A-1 care there. But I have to agree with the previous review. For the last 4/5 months I did not like the new receptionists. I just talked to their manager the last time I was there about the same thing. She told me they just revamped their reception structure and hired completely new stuff. I will still recommend this place whole-heartedly because of the great care I always get when I am there.

you sound like a crazy bat. there are two sides to every story... have the other clinic call them and fax over the records and get it over with. i'm sure you will complain about the other clinic too for some reason.

I took my new kitten here to get neutered and in retrospect am very satisfied with how the procedure went. He recovered quickly without pain or irritation. However , I wanted to comment that the front desk staff was useless. It seemed like there were always 4 or 5 behind the desk 3 of which were talking about their personal lives or otherwise ignoring customers. The girls were all plenty nice, but most of them seemed mostly incompetent. We were told dropping him off would take 15 minutes and we ended up being there for 45 minutes (on a Saturday morning at 8:30 am!), and only then could we leave because we mentioned how we had to go open our family business. When I went to pick him up it was the same thing. The girls at the front desk struggled to calculate my total and I stood there for 15 minutes while they redid and redid their calculations; I was worried I would be incorrectly charged. Then, when I was being debriefed on the neuter and post-op directions the girl kept calling my cat "she" and saying how "she" had been spayed. Finally, I blurted, "it's a male". I just think when it comes to your pet, it's all about personal attention and when they can't even get the gender correct, I mean come on. My recommendation: Go there for good care, but bring a long book and a whole lot of patience.

My recommendation: Go there for good care, but bring a long book and a whole lot of patience.

Pros: good vet

Cons: unprofessional staff

Helping hands Vet Clinic is a great clinic- we??d say the best we??ve been to. We have seen 3 different doctors so far and they all are kind, compassionate and helpful. The clinic offers both traditional medicine solutions as well as holistic solutions, and we really appreciate this. Another great thing is that you don??t need an appointment to bring in your pet and this has been wonderful for us. The front desk staff and the veterinary tech are very friendly and it obvious that everyone who works there has a true love of animals.
We have recommended this clinic to a friend and she has had the same experience and is very impressed as well. We would not hesitate in recommending this clinic to any pet owner- it is truly stellar with regard to compassion and quality of care.

Friendly, concerned staff. The vet assistants always treat my dogs like movie stars, which my dogs love. I always get my questions answered by the vets. Dr. G is unpretentious, down to earth and has a great sense of humor. I like that it?s drop in but would like more appointment time. Maybe if they offered ? drop in and ? appointments. I appreciate the lower cost yet the clinic feels high end.

Pros: Genuinely caring and very kind worth the wait

Cons: sometimes waiting time - call ahead to see if they are busy

Dr. G is the best Vet I have ever met! He is SO smart! I learn so much each visit. My dog loves him and he thinks outside the box. I had been dealing with the same eye issues with my dog for over a year and I took her to two other vets since we moved to WA three years ago. Dr. G fixed her up on our first visit to him and the cost was less than the other vets we'd gone to with no results! The staff at Helping Hands are not only knowledgeable but they are also caring! We love them!

I have had a wonderful experience at Helping Hands. After taking my dog to two different Vets? for the same problem only to get a "quick fix" and a big bill I decided to try HH. Dr. G is wonderful. Not only did he help my dog but I learned more in one visit than I did at any other vet I've ever been to. I feel very confident with their knowledge. Their entire staff is very knowledgeable and caring, I am very pleased.
I am also very happy that they are a walk-in clinic. I can make my visits around my schedule which is very nice (they also take after hours appointments too, which is great).

The best decision I ever made! Great Service, wonderful staff, an asset to the community!!!! Helping hands is a wonderful resource to our community a real diamond in the ruff. Everyone there is so wonderful and caring to the animals and to me. They really know there stuff. Helping hands is not just wonderful to the animals but also to my checkbook. The prices there can't be beat. I have been to many vets in my life and have never been treated as good and with so much respect as I have with them and especially with Dr. G a truly caring and wonderful Doctor. I recommend this clinic to everyone I come in contact with regarding pets and pet care. As long as they are around Helping Hands is the ONLY place I will ever take my animal. Thanks Dr. G for being a true gem!!

No one could tell me whatever happened to Vets4Less in Lynnwood. Thankfully due to a user review I now know! I used to go to the one in Puyallup when I lived down there. I'll be giving this vet a try for sure.
I just had a ver BAD experience with the Everett Veterinary Hospital, Inc. on Broadway in Everett. I was overcharged, outright lied to, and my cats were not given the MOST effective treatments on the first visit. They never answer emails, either. They only want your money.
Hopefully the Helping Hands Clinic lives up to their reviews!

Well a couple of years back my guinea pig got mites and every vet we call said that they didn't do exotic pets, well we were just about to give up when i spotted a vet clinic on my way to the mall. I borrowed my friends cell phone and called my mom and asked her to call this vet to see if they dealt in exotic pets. It was just our luck that they did! when we first brought our guinea pig in Dr. G instantly fell in love with him, he was holding Orville up and talking to him and it was quite hilarious! Well we like this vet so much that now they are our vets for life. i now have four guinea pigs and two dogs that get to see Dr. G when ever we need him. The last time we were there was when my Chihuahua jumped off my bed and hurt his knee/leg. the people there were just as nice that day as they were the very first time we came!!!!!!!!!

I met Dr. G at a Dog Festival in Mount Lake Terrace on a hot summer day in 2004! I immediately knew right then and there that he was going to be my dog's vet for life! I strongly believe in trying different methods, other than Western Medicine. He practices both homeopathic and western traditional medications and treatments but emphasizes eastern meds for sure! He has absolutely the best bed side manner any Vet or Dr could have. Believe me since I have been to many Vets over the years as well as MD's for myself. He is very patient with the animals and the human owners as well. He is so compassionate and understanding as much as a human can be! He is authentic and is really there to listen and to help the animals back to health or even maintain their health. I truly believe he is the best Vetirnarian at least on the whole west coast! I am from Berkeley, Ca and have been to many vets down in the bay area. He tops them all! I could go on and on but that will have to suffice!

We went in for a surgery (not done by them) gone septic. They knew what to do, and explained it in laymans terms for me. They didn't scoff when a grown man cried (actually they seemed to care), although they weren't too clear which options during surgery were optional, or useless. The doctor and technician REMEMBERED my specific pet two weeks later.

I have taken both my cat and dogs to this clinic which used to be called Vets for Less. Since the change in name and, I assume ownership, I have been more satisfied with their services. The clinic seems to have a friendlier atmosphere and I have found all of the staff to be very pleasant and loving towards the animals. My dog currently has a rather difficult problem to deal with and the vets are putting a lot of effort into helping us. I would recommend this clinic.

PROS: friendly, caring staff & vets
