Daniel's was one of the first real steaks I had a in a long time. The meat was tender, fresh, and cooked to our order correctly the 1st time.
The services from the hostess to the waiter was just wonderful! Everyone made us feel welcome from the time we arrived until we left hours later.

We really enjoyed ourselves. The atmosphere was romantic, with the dim lighting and noise level was very nice. We could hear each other talking without shouting or others conversations. No interference of other noises from waiters or kitchen. The temperature were a little cool. The view from our table was worth the trip alone!

As a Texas guy, I keep looking for the best beef in Seattle. Seattle has great restaurants and I've enjoyed most of them. This menu may need some updating, but my service was great and the views were excellent.

Got a coupon from a friend and went into the cigar bar to use it and the gal said no problem in the cigar bar even though it said don't use in lounge. I wanted to watch the game and so I ordered dessert and a drink. After I was almost done the rude waitress came over and said I couldn't use my coupon on dessert and I said the coupon doesn't say no desserts. It only says no alchohol and not on happy hour. The manager came over said you can't use this in the lounge and I said the other gal said I could and he said but no dessert thats policy. I said it doesn't say that. He was a total jerk and took my coupon. I paid my tab with cash and asked him for my coupon back and he gave me two new ones. I said you know I have been coming in here for years and this is not the way to treat me. If I come in here with three friends and we all want dessert and drinks in the restaurant your not going to honor this? Ya right pal. Learn some customer and don't make up new rules. This is not Schwartz like. I will be back it is still some the best steak and lobster around. Not a happy dude!

Got a twenty five dollar coupon from a colleague and went into the cigar bar to have dessert. I asked if I could use the coupon in there and she said yes. I ordered a drink and dessert and after she brought the dessert she said oh you can't use that for dessert only dinner. Well the coupon doesn't say that its for dinner only. The manager came over and said you can't use that coupon in here and I said she told me I could then he said not for dessert. THE COUPON DOESN'T SAY NO DESSERT. Manager was new and rude same with the waitress. I paid my tab with cash and had to retrieve my coupon from the manager. He gave me two new ones but so what if I come in with four people and we all want dessert and wine? Really your gonna say no? Just bad, bad customer service guys, this isn't the Daniels I know and loved back in the day!

Summary: Go for the drinks and snacks at the bar, go somewhere else for dinner.

Daniel's used to be one of my favorite local area restaurants. If I don't have anything pre-planned, I'd be out at Daniel's whether it's with friends, colleagues or visitors. This covers both the Bellevue and Seattle locations. Unfortunately, my dining experience with them over the past 2 years have been mostly disappointing. For a restaurant that claims to define steakhouse excellence, it fall far, far short.

Don't get me wrong, they can still serve up a great steak and provide great service. However, it is the inconsistency that I find unacceptable. In the last 2 years, more often than not, our steaks were poorly cooked - charred cardboard texture in one part, very rare in another or just plain medium well all round when we (always) ask for medium rare. Service is also a hit & miss. Sometimes it's great. Many times, the hostess and/or wait staff made it seem like we were lucky to even be noticed.

This is not a single poor experience. As mentioned, it's been my experience for the past 2+ years (was really great before that) and I've not seen signs of change.

For the prices they charge and the standards they claim to set, I find Daniel's is no longer an acceptable place to bring my guests or even dine with my GF. I was told by an event manager that the group had some internal falling out a few years back and that may have contributed to some of the problems but as much as that may be difficult for them, I don't think it's fair that paying customers have to suffer from it. Places like El Gaucho (both sides of the pond) and Tosoni's (Bellevue) are in the same price levels but their service and food have been consistently excellent for me.

Pros: Great bar with nice view, snacks and piano man

Cons: Dinner quality and service are both inconsistent

This is a great restaurant for group gatherings. I've been here for a company dinner and also the reception after a funeral. They have a number of private rooms to accomadate various sized groups.

I went to Daniel's broiler last night to listen to some good music. I've been going there for about the last 6 years or so to see the piano guy named Jim sing and play. He always plays my favorite song (by Coldplay) as soon as he sees me walk in. I'm always amazed at the fact that he remembers my name AND remembers my song. I feel very special walking in there, but then I realize that he knows everyone's favorites! I brought some of my friends from the eastside up there last night. It was surprising to me that they didn't even know that there was an eastside piano bar. I think they will become "regulars" there now because Jim knew all of the songs they wanted to hear. Last night Jim told me that he's been playing at the Bellevue Daniel's for 20 years in October. I was shocked to see how much energy he could have after doing the same thing for 20 years. But, every time I'm up there, he seems to keep it fresh by learning a few new tunes. And the other good news is that they just started a late night happy hour in the lounge to go along with the great entertainment. I think I may be visiting even more often!

Pros: Love the music, great variety, perfect "date nite" place

Cons: Can get very crowded around the piano, but still lots of fun

This place is so much fun! I was up in the piano bar last weekend and I had the best time. The piano guy played all my favorites (like "Piano Man", "Sweet Caroline", etc...) and even knew many newer songs like Coldplay, David Gray, and Matchbox. My whole group had a blast hearing all of the guest singers sit in and sing. I felt like we got to hear such a variety of singers from blues, to jazz, to pop rock. We met so many fun people up there that night while singing along to our favorites. I would highly recommend this place if you want to go out, meet new people, be entertained, and have an all around great time!

Let's begin with the good. The view is outstanding; wonderful view of the Seattle skyline from many tables. Tonight was our second visit and once again the service (from the server - more on that shortly) was outstanding. The lobster bisque is out of this world and most of the entrees are very good although a bit pricey. The desert (especially the coconut sundae and the "celebration cake" are over the top great) Overall, I would give Daniel's Broiler a 4.5 (close to a 5) on this side of the ledger.

Now for the not-so-good. First off, when I'm enjoying an expensive meal, I don't like being bothered every few minutes about what cutlery I'm no longer using, whether I'm finished with the bread, whether I want the butter on my table any longer, etc. It felt as though they were running low on utensils and needed to get as many from the tables as they could! Several times while conversing with my wife, I had a person reaching across me to retrieve dishes. If I'm through with them, I'll put them on the edge of the table!

Second, with all due respect, the people raving about the steaks must be from Washington state or other states where good steak houses are a rarity. Growing up in Texas, I've eaten the best steaks in the world (III Forks, Humperdinks, Ruth's Chris, etc.) and Daniel's isn't close. It's good and maybe even great for Seattle (and the Eastside) but doesn't measure up to my admittedly high standards.

As a result of these two (big) negatives and the price ($200+ for two people), I have to give Daniel's a 3.5 (I gave it a generous 4). If you want to drop $100 per person, Palisades (Seattle) is much better as is Becks (Redmond). Beck's has better steak and they both have much better lobster.

Overall, I'm not unhappy that I went, but for the price and reputation, it could be much better.

Being new to the area my husband and I were not sure where we should spend our anniversary night out.
After asking around everyone seemed to agree that for a beautiful view and meal in Bellevue not many places can beat Daniels. We were so pleased with our table it wasgreat for our romantic night out. Service from the wait staff was unbelievable. They were attentive yet not hovering or obnoxious. The lamb and pork chops that we had were as closeto a perfect meal as either of us have ever had. The wine list was more than agreeable and our waiter made great recommendations. Thank you Daniels for making our first dinner out in anew town and our anniversary wonderful!

I thought that this resturant was extremely over priced for the quality of the food. As well did my friend that was joining me. I will however say that the sevice was good, and fast. But I would have waited much longer if that meant my food would have been edible. I will never dine here again or recommend it to friends or to you.

We chose Daniels to go for our 24th Wedding Anniversay with old friends, First, the place was really, really noisy. So trying to chat and visit with friends we hadn't seen for a while , was near impossible. The service was good and friendly and knowledgeable. We didn't have to wait too long for the food.
The lobster bisque was outstanding.
The spinach salad had way too much oily dressing and was much too 'greasy', but the mushrooms, tomatoes and pecans in it were plentiful.
The steaks, both of them were atrocious. Charred, charred, over charred, blackened so much there was no flavor to the meat inside as it was over powered by char. After taking a bite, my husband said, "now I wonder which wine I should order with this?"
Our friend (whose steak was even more charred, said quickly "Why, Chardonney of course".
The bread was delicious, the mashed potatoes were good, as was the asparagus. BUT we went there for a good steak. The OutBack Steak House has better steaks for $7.95. rather than $40+.
We realised as we left and agreed well that was about the worst steak we've ever had at a restuarant; we should have gone to Ruth's Chris. Do yourselves a favor and avoid this noisy place. Unless charred is your favorite flavor. What a waste indeed.

On the 21st floor, this restaurant paves way for a romantic evening with a loved one. The service was wonderful and the food was a delight. If you seek a nice candlelit dinner, this is a winner!

Power lunches, dates, parents, out of town guests you should treat them. no dutch here. great place. good atmosphere. ask for their frequent card program and sign up. they'll send you careful emails and stuff , pay 25 to join but get back 50 in GC at your birthday. That'll cover your appetizer and a drink...;)

I've been to Daniel's twice. The first, I was atrociously under-dressed (yet not treated any less of a human being) and the second time at Bellevue. Both times were sensational. The steaks are full of flavor and the staff are very knowledgeable and friendly, although sometimes a little pretentious. One night, instead of going to Daniel's, I suggested that we try something different, the Metropolitan, and it was atrocious and far inferior to Daniels. I would suggest Daniel's to anybody looking for a succulent piece of beef. The mashed potatoes were not my favorite.

Two people, two drinks a piece, one appetizer, starter salad, small (9oz) filet each, one side of spinach, and coffee for desert = $250. What a joke. The steak was good, but the price is absurd for mediocre service, atmosphere, view, etc. For that price, you could be eating at Canlis, where you are assured a memorable experience. Never again would I return to Daniels...rediculously expensive for what you get!

I've been going to Daniel's broiler in bellevue for 13 years now. I thought it was time that I finally write a review on City Search. There is only one reason I go and this is to hear the piano man, Jim Washburn, singing and playing just about anything the crowd requests. Looking around on a busy Friday night last weekend, I thought how obvious it is why this bar has had this kind of success for so long. Jim is always there, night after night. I asked him how long he has been at Daniels, and he said "almost 18 years....can you believe it?" It is amazing that a musician has this much stamina! I've brought everyone to this bar, for all different types of occasions....birthdays, girls night out, anniversaries, bachelorette parties....you name it. Every person I drag up with me to the 21st floor, wants to keep going back. The great thing about Jim is that he plays songs that you can enjoy AND talk with your company. While he is definitely the "star" of the show up there, he makes everyone else feel like they are the stars! Keep it up Jim....and thanks for almost two decades of entertainment.

went back recently and was reminded how much I like this place. great food and great service. they've been inconsistent in the past, and my steak was overdone the first time around this last visit, but when they get it right it's hard to beat for great steak. seafood can be good also, but I prefer O/8 for seafood. ice cream sunday is my favorite dessert anywhere. lot's more competition in Bellevue now, so it's not as crowded as it use to be, which is a plus.

At an upscale restaurant excellent service should be a requirement. The service at Daniel's (Bellevue) was excellent, but not sensational. That Sunday night was my parent's and my first time dining at Daniel's; my sister had been there before. We ordered the Bacon Wrapped Scallops, which apparently comes in three. Our waiter informed us of this after we were served with the appetizer. What he did not mention was that he charged me ($3) for the extra scallop without asking whether I had wanted another one. (I don't particularly like eating scallops, so I may have passed on the offer.) Being that it is an upscale restaurant, one could argue that it may seem to be impolite to ask the guest such a question; however, I would have appreciated it if he had mentioned it to me before hand, as being the guest, I should be the one in charge of what goes on my bill. All in all he was very attentive, and met my expectations.

The food was excellent as it should be at that price. The baked potato was enormous, and deliciously moist, soft, and at the perfect temperature! It came with a combination of sour cream, butter, chives, and bacon bits of my choice, added right in front of me. Their serving of mashed potatoes was also enormous. Each type of potatoes were enough for two people. My sister and I shared the Porterhouse (24oz), which was excellent as well--tender, cooked to my liking, and flavorful. No sauce was given nor really needed; however, I love creamy horseradish with all my steaks and prime ribs, and upon request it was handed to me instantly by our waiter.

Reservations can be made online and over the phone, which is great. I do recommend making reservations a day ahead, because you may be stuck with really late times if making them on the day.

I enjoy dining at different restaurants, and intend on writing more reviews. I also have high expectations when it comes to service. The service at Daniel's met my expectations, and I will definitely dine there again.

I enjoy dining at different restaurants, and intend on writing more reviews. I also have high expectations when it comes to service. The service at Daniel's met my expectations, and I will definitely dine there again.

Pros: view, online and phone reservations, ambience, parking, service

Cons: restroom location (all the way on the private dining side of the building)

.

the food, service and wine list are great. The bar scene here is not. Lots of 50 year old men shopping for ditz brains. Its ironic that it's 20 floors up from Joey's since the bar scene here is an older (slightly sad) version of Joeys.

Daniel's Broiler is an excellent restaurant. Their steak is always cooked just right. I have never had a bad dining experience here. It is expensive, but the food and the great customer service are wonderful. Additionally, the view is beautiful. It's definately one of the best restaurants in Bellevue.

This a great special occasion restaurant! Their menu/specials are always good and the food is incredible. They have a very good wine list, too. They're not cheap, but it's worth it. If you go during the holidays, try to get a window seat - the lights below add a romantic touch!

I always have a great time at Daniel's broiler. Not only do they have amazing food, but they have maintained a wonderful atmosphere for many years. Go to the bar if you want some interactive fun - Jim (the pianist/singer) is incredible and plays what you want to hear. You're assured to have a great time.

I never been to Daniel's Briolier till I took my boyfriend there for his 21st b-day and we both fell in love with the place. The steaks were perfect and we were seated near the window where it was so romantic. We gone again for happy hours and the place contiuned to pleased us that we would go occasionally when we feel like going all out.

My wife and I celebrated an event at Daniel's this week. We were seated promptly next to a window with a beautiful view. Our waitress showed up quickly and was very attentive throughout the meal. A table of business-nerds next to us distracted us a bit, as they were having some self-important meeting. But ignoring them, the steaks came out fairly quickly and very well done. I had a filet and my wife had the New York. We also had a couple of sauces and the creamed spinach. The spinach is magnificient! Our bill was a bit high for no alcohol, but you get what you pay for. Overall a great experience. We'll go back again.

My husband and I have dinner at Daniels for our anniversary every year. We have never been disappointed. Service is excellent - with regards to comments of slow - that may be correct but do I want my $250 anniversary dinner to go by quickly? - not at all so slow works for me. We go for the romance, service, and fabulous food. View, and noise level are not factors for us.
If you want steaks one notch lower than Daniels but at 1/2 the total bill, you MUST hit Jak's in Issaquah. DO NOT let the wait deter you - it is worth the wait - very intimate, dark, romantic and affordable.

I did much research and planning for this visit. Was pleasantly greeted and seated at a window table with a view of Seattle skyline. The service was good if a little slow. It was rather loud during our meal but tolerable. As for the steaks, Mom had a filet mignon that was requested rare and was so charred it was all she could taste. They were quick to offer a replacement for her. My ribeye was done properly and tasted alright. But for the price, I've definitely had way better flavored steaks.

I went to Daniels to celebrate my new recruiting business. The entire visit was something to behold- the staff exceeded my expectations. The restaraunt charisma, charm. The staff works like a well oiled machine! We ate in the lounge on a spur of the moment visit Saturday night. Service was just as good as the main dining area. I'm a self styled wine snob, but Daniels had me covered! i chose a luscious APEX cab that was well worth it to compliment the steak I ordered. And it is never a bad night when you finish dinner,go to the cigar room ,equally well appointed and elegant. The view is breathtaking, food more than pleasing.Whether its a microbrew, liquer or dinner ,Daniels can provide you with all you could possibly want. I was impressed! If Daniels keeps to their word ,this is going to remain THE place to go for a long time to come.

I'm from the east coast so I'm unfortunately not used to such a nice place with amazing people- but this restaurant has me thinking about moving to the west- honestly! It's amazing, and the piano man is finominal(sp. ?). I would recomend this restaurant to anyone.

I have eaten at Daniel's in Seattle many times and I've never been disappointed. Bellevue, however, leaves much to be desired. The prime was actually bad! A few things were good but nothing was exceptional - certainly not for the price. I would not recommend this location.

Daniel's Broiler in Bellevue is located near the Bellevue Hyatt. It is located on the 21st floor and it overlooks Bellevue, Lake Washington, and in the distance Seattle. The servers are knowledgable and very friendly. The food is DELICIOUS! It is definately more upscale than a neighborhood steak house like the Keg. The bar area is a lot of fun. They have a piano where you can sit next to and set drinks and food on top. Tonight I felt that Neil Diamond was in the bar singing!!! They have a great happy hour and a humidor for those who enjoy cigars. Parking is always validated. Enjoy this classy place!

I just celebrated my birthday there and I heard a lot about their infamous prime rib. I would have gotten it before from other visits, however they keep on selling out of the prime rib since it is so popular. I finally get there when the prime rib wasn't sold out and I see why it is so hard to get this...the prime rib was THE BEST I ever had.

Their steaks are seasoned well and very tasty. I highly recommend Daniels, it is the best steak I have had yet!

Remember to go early if you want to get the prime rib.

Forget the others--this place has my favorite steak ever. Let me get this straight up-front--the only resturaunt I have been to that compares to Daniel's for an amazing meat experiance is Bobby Flay's resturaunt in NYC (Mesa Grill).

Do not mess around when you go to Daniel's--get the Filet Mignon with the Oscar sauce (note: Oscar is not listed on the menu, but ask the server). The yukon gold mashed potatos are my favorite side.

I recommend starting with the St. Henri Penfold's Shiraz with appetizers (the Calamari is excellent) and then a bottle of the Rombauer Zinfindel with the steaks. Your tastebuds will thank you!

There is also an excellent selection of desert wines and deserts.

I love the Bellevue location for the view of Lake Wa. and downtown Bellevue, but the Lake Union location is just as tasty.

This place was fantastic for my Valentine's Date. I was a bit skeptical at first because of how noisy it was but we were seated in a nice quiet corner. Not only was it romantic, but it was one of the best steaks I've ever had. I'd highly recommend this place, but watch the price, it's pretty spendy.

I must say that we had the BEST service - even though the steaks weren't as good as we expected. Great atmosphere, nice view, and yummy seafood dishes did make up for the steaks though. I'd still recommend the Met if you want the best piece of steak in town. Overall, we enjoyed the evening & would definitely visit again!

In a place like this you cant go wrong. You make a reservation the waiter knows your name. So you could say its a place where everyone knows your name. That does not substitute for slacking in other areas through out the night such as filling water glasses, coke glasses or ice tea glasses. You can expect great tasting food but the meal comes with your choice of potatoe or pasta so plan on forking over extra bucks for any soups or salads you plan on having during the night. Over its a great restaurant to take a date or business dinner. Oysters arent bad for an appetizer but the filet is an absolute must steak here.

Strange, I've lived in the area for awhile now, and never tried this place. I wish I had sooner!!! The meal was a bit on the pricey side, but truly worth every penny. Make sure to save

I like pepper a lot, but I had to remove most of what was on my peppercorn steak, which was otherwise quite good. The wine list is good, but VERY overpriced. $13 for a GLASS of decent Merlot? Please.

Food, view and service were both very good, but for the same price, I'll take The Met or Ruth's.

Daniel's Broiler is tasty! It's located on the top floor of a downtown Bellevue office building, which is pretty neat. I'll definitely be back, once I have a little extra cash kicking around for a date. The atmosphere is great - dark, subtle liting, and big windows so you can see the twinkling lights of downtown Bellevue. The steaks, of course, must be tried. I had the spinach and bacon salad, too, which was awesome. If you don't have heart problems, try your steak smothered in bleu cheese dressing ;)

Daniel's can do no wrong in their food preparation. Ingredients are top-notch, and cooking is solid. Beef, seafood, and lamb selections are excellent. However, the recipes are extremely conventional American food, and the recipes are heavy (high in fat). The salads are very traditional. Don't come here for innovation, nor for the vegetables. The wines are quite good. Vegetarians may feel out of place. Prices are high, and you can expect to be in a busy room full of people having business meals. The staff are quite professional, but not warm. Noise level is medium. The view is pleasant but not remarkable. A safe choice for a business dinner if you're sure the other party isn't vegetarian. Not a good choice for a romantic meal.

I love great steakhouses and I love Rib Eye steaks. Daniels prepared one of the best! I liked the semi-private booths but the view isn't the highlight of Daniels. Our service was great and the wine list is excellent. Food actually came faster then I like. Excellent Ceaser salad and the gulf prawns are great. Go at Dark for more ambience.
