Went to Gregg's to buy a Specialized dirt bike and was shown the 2012 version, but the 2013s were available. The sales person would not disclose the differences between models, unless I directed specific questions - then they would only disclose precisely what I asked for. They indicated that Specialized was not very cooperative before the formal "product introduction". So I had to investigate every detail and especially noted the gearing changes introduced in 2013 (which would not fit my usage). The bike was delivered poorly prepared; both pedal bearings were binding, the frame paint where the front deraileur was moved from was blemished, most of the cables were rattling together and rubbing the frame (although Specialized deserves some big credit here); new tires were installed with the wrong sized inner tubes; I have since tried to buy the correct tubes at Gregg's and was sold the wrong size for twice the price of another store! They had to service the steering head and left a part off the bike. In my opinion, go there at your own risk; I will not darken their doorstep again!!!

I was looking for a road bike and decided to check out the selection at Gregg's on my way home from work. When I told the salesperson what I was looking for, she told me that I was too tall (I'm 5'8", not THAT tall) for most of their bikes and so they only had one that would work for me. I took it on a test ride and it was okay. . .but I wanted to look for other bikes. As soon as I said that I planned to look at other places I received no more help. They seemed to have a nice selection of bikes and bike accessories. I wouldn't rule out going there for accessories, but I don't think I would go there to buy my next bike.

Gregg's Alderwood Cycle has become a welcome and much appreciated resource for the local cycling community. Following the tradition of Gregg's Greenlake Cycle, it has brought a wide range of excellent bikes and related gear and accessories, along with quality service and cycling expertise. The staff I've interacted with have always had great product knowledge, been ready and willing to listen and answer questions, and shared their own experience when appropriate. There's no pressure to buy, just a genuine interest in outfitting customers with what will best meet their needs.

Pros: friendly staff

.

I have always got what I needed when I visit this store. No salesperson on my back to scare me away. The employees are well educated in bike related issues.
As far as I know, there are other locations as well. Bellevue, Greenlake area in Seattle comes to mind.
I can only say good things at this point. So I must recommend this as the place to go for bicycles, parts, etc.

PROS: Several locations, employees, well stocked.
CONS: none yet.
