I've read a lot of reviews, but this is the first one in which the store owner alleges the bad reviews come from the competition--with no evidence whatever.

I have gone to these guys several times and have had a good experience every time! They do good work in a timely fashion, they are knowledgeable, and very helpful. I will continue to go in whenever my computer needs to be fixed.

I too have been using other guys to come to my home for computer repair--this time I tried my neighborhood business and was happy I did--they were friendly from the start--came when they said they would--fixed my problem in the time they said for the price they quoted--the owner even came along !! They were professional and good at what they do--I'm glad I went in

My mother gave me a computer after my 18th b-day and i have been very happy with it and i haven't had one problem with it until about a month ago when i got internet through comcast. i always kept my laptop at my desk until i learned that i was able to access the internet wirelessly so i tried and tried and tried again accessing the internet from my couch. finally i gave up and decided to take it to someone who might know more about what they were doing, my mother suggested A1 best computer cuz i guess she had always taken her computer there and she said they were cheap. I arrived and couldn't find any parking, finally i decided to park at the nail salon next door. I walked in and there was a man SCREAMING at the employee behind the counter saying over and over again WHY IS THAT NOT POSSIBLE!!! I found myself very uncomfortable but waited around cuz the guy Behind the counter apologized for the inconvenience and said he would be with me in a moment. For a minute there I thought that this guy was about to jump over the counter and grab the poor employee cuz he apparently was angry that the employee spoke to me and not him. well after the guy cursed out the employee for another minute he seemed to push his wife out of the store and turned around to tell the employee that he should be careful cuz he would probably be back for him. He slammed the door open so hard I think it might have put a hole in their wall and left. FINALLY i was able to speak to the computer guy about the problem with my computer. He explained to me that there was a wireless switch on the side of my keyboard that needed to be on if i was gunna be able to access my internet wirelessly, he was very patient with me cuz i had a LOT of quetions and he didnt make me feel dumb at ALL for asking them (which is refreshing cuz i dont know ANYTHING about computers) he even showed me how to use the web cam on the top my screen! all in all i was very happy with the service i recieved at A1, i asked him how much i owed him and he said that i didnt owe them anything but he gave me the company card and said if i had any more questons or problems to give him a call.
P.s. after i posted this review, i noticed the review under mine and had to edit my review cuz im wondering if this is the guy that was in the store when i first arrived, if so then its just making me laugh a little cuz he seems to remember things a bit different then me. and considering the date his review was put on this site, im kinda thinking that that is definately him..... hmmmm.... he kinda sounds like a mean grumpy old man that maybe just didnt get his way. LOL!!! ;-) just kidding.

The staff at A1 best computers have such an incredable technical support and assistance team. I wouldn't think of going anywhere else for computer repairs!! I have 5 buldging discs in my back and can't carry my laundry basket much less a computer right now. I had to buy a new computer online and have it shipped. Eric Nording the new owner agreed to come to my house and pick up the old equipment and fix up the new computer at the shop. He then drove it back to my house to help me install and download applications. A1 best is also fair with the way they charge even for the most time consuming repairs! I highley recommend thier services to anybody out there in computer repair need!!!!

Went in to have the BIOS set for IDE to SATA drives and check out 2 adaptors. Jason looked at the adaptors and immediately said they were no good and I needed to buy a card from him. As I explained to a employee I had talked to earlier in the day ( a nice gentleman), I wanted the BIOS checked first. Jason repeated his first statement and I told him "never mind, I would take it to another store to have it checked." My wife and I took the parts to our car (30 feet away) and I looked back and Jason was standing outside the door giving us the finger! I returned to the store and confronted Jason and he said he didn't like my attitude. We are both in our late 60's and had never seen this type of customer attitude before. Everthing was fine with us until this parting gesture. Possibly a good store but one terrible employee !!

Do your research before you pay for service from these guys. I had a fried motherboard in my laptop and almost EVERYWHERE I looked on-line sold them for $199 max. A-1 called and told me it would cost $299 for a refurbished, or $435(!!) for a brand new one. PLUS $20 Shipping, PLUS another $150 just to install it. Which I watched a tech do on youtube in about ten minutes. So I could have potentially paid $600. Ridiculous! When I went to pick it up I called them out on it. They had no explanation of why the part cost over twice as much, seemed like they had kind of a guilty demeanor, and really just wanted to get me out of their store. They definitely didn't appreciate me questioning their methods. I'll order the motherboard myself for $199 and follow the video I watched online. If I mess it up I can still get a new laptop for cheaper than they wanted to charge me!

*EDIT: I just read the presidents comments a few reviews down on the page. I can assure you that I am a real customer, and my statements are 100% true. I can post my deposit receipt if necessary.

I highly recommend these guys. I took my iMac in for upgrade. They were able to upgrade/add memory when the Apple repair store and another repair shop said it couldn't be done. When I picked up the computer, they helped me connect my new iPod and show me how to use it. The cost was way below what I expected to pay. I brought my computer in on a Mon for a $40, .5hr diagnostic (they said this labor would count towards the final $$). When I brought it in they said it was a broken DC jack, the piece connects to the power cord. On Thurs they called and said it would be a 225 "flat fee" w/o tax and would be doneby Thurs/Fri of *that* week. Well I called back near closing on Sat &the guy completely denied that timing. When repeatedly asked for an estimate of how long it would take to repair, he flatly *would not* give me an answer. I called back Mon near closing time again & the same guy said it was "at another building" and he didn't know when it would be back. After I made a serious fuss over the phone and asked for my computer back, he said he couldn't stop the service and I would have to wait. He then called me back 20 mins later, exactly 45 mins before the store closed for the day, and told me that my computer was ready. I picked up the computer the next day, Tuesday, over a week from when I dropped it off, and argued with the manager for a while about why it wasn't ready on Sat and what the "flat fee" meant.
Finally he subtracted the $40 diagnostic from theof 225 after I repeatedly asked why that .5hr of work wasn't in the final total. I was also angry that although I was paying for parts and labor, they wouldn't tell me how much the parts were or how long it really took for them to fix the computer (I think this is especially ridiculous when you're paying for labor).
Altogether it was a HORRIBLE experience and I will definitely NOT be returning to this shop ever. However the repairs were eventually done &my computer is fixed.
I later called a well rated online place on the Ave who quoted me $175 and promised a 2day return, before hearing anything about where I'd taken my computer and how much they were charging.
To me this proves that A1 Computer is among the more expensive, slower routes to take when fixing your computer.

I have a Dell laptop that my 2 years old daughter spilled milk on the keyboard, I called few places that advertise laptop repair before calling A-1 Best Computer to get a quote and no one seems to know what something like this will cost to fix, I was also worried about my data in my hard drive, all the places I called want hundreds of dollars to replace my " mother board?. And retrieve my information. They also want me to leave my laptop for two weeks before they can look at it.
When I called A-1, the first thing I noticed was the friendly attitude from the person that answer the phone and the technical knowledge he seems to have about my particular issue.
I took my laptop to them and got a free loaner, they also transferred my document to the loaner so I can work on my files.
It only took two day to get my laptop back, I paid $125.00 Vs hundreds of dollars I was quoted.
I am a very happy customer and I will recommend these guys to anyone who has a computer problem.
They have me for ever and I will continue to spread the word about how good they were to me and to my laptop.

I have a Dell laptop that my 2 years old daughter spilled milk on the keyboard, I called few places that advertise laptop repair before calling A-1 Best Computer to get a quote and no one seems to know what something like this will cost to fix, I was also worried about my data in my hard drive, all the places I called want hundreds of dollars to replace my " mother board?. And retrieve my information. They also want me to leave my laptop for two weeks before they can look at it.
When I called A-1, the first thing I noticed was the friendly attitude from the person that answer the phone and the technical knowledge he seems to have about my particular issue.
I took my laptop to them and got a free loaner, they also transferred my document to the loaner so I can work on my files.
It only took two day to get my laptop back, I paid $125.00 Vs hundreds of dollars I was quoted.
I am a very happy customer and I will recommend these guys to anyone who has a computer problem.
They have me for ever and I will continue to spread the word about how good they were to me and to my laptop.

I do not know why people like this are still in business. They were rude, had my laptop for 1 week, and charged me twice as much for a repair than most other shops in town. They also put in a used part when they claimed it was new.

I needed my screen fixed on my Dell laptop. I thought it would cost a bundle turned out I got it all done for about 200.00 bucks. Took about four days total. While I was in picking it up my mom picked up an IBM think pad for $350.00 pulse tax. She is happy as could be. Thanks A-1

These guys will string you along for hours and charge you 75 an hour for your trouble. They quoted me 340 for a hard drive recovery, I had it done at another shop down the road for 125 (inclued tax). Along with that, they were slow a rude when i told them they had to be joking.

Never, Nerver again.

These guys are simply bad help. One guy tells me its price A, next guy changes it to price B, Last guy tells me Price C - all for the same service! One guy tells me they have my data, next guy tells me they dont have my data - that will cost extra. they wanted 160 Bucks for a 80 Gig HD - they are worth 50 retail. Scam, Scam, Scam

I spent $370 to have my 4 year old Dell laptop computer repaired (caput hard drive). Lord - I would just as soon have upgraded with a new computer! They charged 3 hours labor for diagnosis, putting in a new hard drive, and installing antivirus software. No other software was installed (like Word, or any of the other software my computer came with). Hard to believe it took them three hours, since I called back 5 minutes later to change my mind about the service, and the hard drive was already installed! (Too late, they said!) No data was even recovered (did they try?) I think you could very likely get better value elsewhere. I don't recommend this place.
