On a rainy day in the Northwest a meal at Desert Fire is a brief escape from cold dreary surroundings. </p> <p>Invariably, the meal I choose is the Applewood Pecan Salmon. It's a filet of salmon crusty with spices, garnished with pecans and served over spinach and mashed sweet potatoes. Like much of the menu I would describe it as New American cuisine with a southwestern influence.
