Ruby's is preferable to the food court selections and sitting out in the food court zoo. It's huge, and it does seem to take a while for your server to make it over to you for the order, serving and check. The food is good, and not fast food. I visit Ruby's when shopping Alderwood and don't want to leave the mall, but have not made a point to come to Ruby's by itself.

I've eaten at the Alderwood Mall/Lynnwood Ruby's countless times. The first few times I was very impressed by the whole experience and then came several visits when impressed wasn't the word that came to mind.

Unfortunately, I've heard this is one of the best Ruby's around the Seattle area. The concept, being 50's retro is awesome, the food and menu are equally awesome.

The wait staff is 'horror movie scary'. We've seen food delivered to empty tables, several conversations amongst the wait staff while food is getting cold. Dessert being pushed by the wait staff at breakfast. And then the usual; waitresses that don't listen, waitresses that ignore you, waitresses that forget your order, waitresses that forget your drinks, food that is cold, sandwiches that are dried out from being under a heat lamp.

We will ocassionally go back in hopes that it's improved but we keep getting disappointed. If it wasn't at the mall it would be a gas station by now.

Pros: food, menu, efficiency of the cooks

Cons: wait staff

I ate at Ruby's Diner the other day with two friends of mine the other day and to my dismay, the friendly service that they are oh-so-famous for wasn't quite up to par. The waitress was impatient with us while taking our orders and didn't smile much at us (not necessary but appreciated). We got our salads, everything was fine and tasted good, but when our burger that we were splitting came, we cut it into 3rds and the whole inside was an orange/pink salmony color. Not too appealing. The waitress however came back and brought us a new meal which we were happy to have turn out edible, but when our check came, she tried to charge us for both. Other experiences there were great but I just dont think it was this servers day.

PROS: Fun atmosphere
CONS: Food wasnt cooked all the way, server wasnt very nice
