Incompetent. I could have diagnosed my dog better and saved $400. Accept responsibility people! The snotty twit on the phone said "I didn't check you in and I didn't check you out, what do you exppect me to do?" Well get rid of the attitude, your job, accept responsibility. Any of those work for me. And I bet you wouldn't be so high horsed to my face. Has anyone there actually seen their chart? They don't write anything down. According to the snotty gal its because it doesn't matter. So doctors are stupid for checking and documenting our blood pressure, heart and lungs and temp.

Anytime you are faced with hard decision of whether or not to put your pet down, it is a difficult and stressful time. When you take you beloved pet to the vet to have the procedure done, you expect to be treated with sympathy and respect. I received none of these on my visit yesterday. Instead, I felt swindled and trapped and forced to pay almost twice what I was quoted over the phone for the procedure.

I had been to this location previously to have the same done for my dog. The vet was kind, and understanding.

This vet doesn??t even introduce herself or greet me with anything other than ?? so, we are putting your 14 year old cat down. Um, yeah, I believe that is what it says on the chart. She then asks if we had been in previously ?? no. I??m here just for this since your hours of business allow me to be present when the deed is done ?? let??s just get on with it.

Well this turns into a discussion of fees ?? and extra $51 for an ??examination/ consultation?. What? It??s obvious to any observer that my cat needs to go ?? she is about a skeleton and hasn??t eaten for the past week. It??s time.

Is that okay she asks. Well no not really, but go ahead. She does ABOSOLUTELY NOTHING! She didn??t examine my cat, she didn??t even TOUCH her and there was certainly no consultation ??you know, something to say yes, you are making the right decision. Nothing! She suggests a catheter to make the injection easier ?? sure I say ?? another $20. I ask her to sedate her too, which the vet ??generously? offers at no charge. It should be no charge! It should be part of the procedure! Then she just walks out ?? that??s it. Twenty seconds of interaction for $50.

This leaves me alone and struggling to decide if I should go ahead or pack up my dying cat and try again someplace else for less money. I??ve already said my goodbyes as had my family ?? how could I take her back home? So I stayed. But this wasn??t the end of the wonderful service.

After sedating her and putting in the catheter, I was allowed to spend some time with my kitty. This short time turned into 20 minutes of waiting. Why? Because the vet was doing another appointment! It was long enough that the sedation was wearing off. Finally, it??s done and all I want to do is leave. Now the vet pours on the sympathy ?? and why not? They??ve got their money.

This was just a horrible experience in the first place and then just made horrendous by this place. How dare you treat me this way and cheat me in such a manner knowing I was in pain? I am never to return ?? obviously. Oh an they charged me for a dog, not a cat at $5 more. And ironically on the invoice it says ??Compassion, Concern, Commitment?.

I have great dane show dogs. All of them are patients at Spokane Valley Animal Hosp. The exam rooms are clean and staff is excellent at handling my dogs.
I've read the bad reviews on the insiderpages and am surprised at the criticism. I've owned danes for 10 years (and a variety of dogs for considerably longer) and do not share these opinions of the vets at this clinic. I am in the clinic with each dog at least 2 times a year for vaccinations and general care. This is the best clinic in the Valley.

first off to the people who are complaining about prices, imagine how it feels for the staff when they are trying their best to be helpful to people and compassionate and truly care about the pets and their owners while they have to make the hard decision to put their pets to sleep and having to ask for payment. i felt so bad for the girl who helped me with my sweet boy. she truly looked sick to have to ask for payment but i understand fully that it is a business and this is how they are supporting their families and paying for school and such.

the vets there are AMAZING. they do their best to provide the best care possible. the female vets with go through lengths to help your animals. dr stokes i have seen come in for other clients on her days off! dr codr was honest with my sister when she had brought her 13yr old lab in. he wouldnt let her spend hundreds of dollars on treatment when the prognosis was truly poor.

ALSO I CALLED AND ASKED IF THEY WERE AN EMERGENCY CLINIC THEY ARE A HOSPITAL FOR THEIR EXTENDED HOURS. THEY TAKE TRUE EMERGENCIES BUT UNDERSTAND THAT JUST BECAUSE YOU WAITED ALL WEEKEND TO HAVE YOUR PET SEEN WHILE IT WAS VOMITING DOESNT MAKE IT THEIR FAULT. THERE IS AN EMERGENCY CLINIC OPEN ALL WEEKEND LONG FOR THAT REASON.

If there is a rating less than one star, I would give it.
I will never, ever go to this place again. The first time I tried to go, I thought my Shih Tzu had swallowed a needle. They would not see him in the 45 minutes before noon, and said I would need to come back at 3:00 that afternoon. The second time I went, they did not have any answers for me, and sent me down to WSU Vet Hospital in Pullman. The third time, this last weekend, my little girl Shih Tzu was seriously ill, and I had to make the decision to put her out of her misery. I had waited until they opened to call - I called from home and asked them if they could help me with a doctor and a quiet room to put her out of her misery. They said they were too busy - were booked up - even though they claim to be an emergency hospital - they said she would have to wait until the end of the day, and then they could probably fit her in, even though she was in pain.
This place is the worst place in the world - stay away.

Took my dogs there for a couple years. They seem inclined to run up the bill more than is necessary. Staff was at times rude, depending on who it was. Vet was snooty & demeaning. I saw a comment here that they are willing to work with you on payments. I was in the waiting room once & I overheard them allowing a woman to actually make payments. This service was declined to me 5 minutes later. I take my pets elsewhere now.

I can not get over the expierence I have had with the inconsestency and rudness of the staff at this facility the only thing they care about is the money NOT your animal or your feelings and was horrified to find others with the same expierence as mine. Vets are supossed to care about your animal needs and be compasionent but not these ones I hope they have insurance they'll need it.

Can't even imagine Debbie being rude or incompetent to anyone...EVER. She has groomed cats and dogs for years and I have NEVER seen such a thing. I have seen her take disasters and turn them into happy and cleaner animals. I have personally worked with Debbi and I do believe it's you Jennifer who is the rude and incompetent one. She does a wonderful job and has plenty of returning clients. Maybe you should re-evaluate the situation and realize that it was you madam who is out of line. Debbie, I commend your work and will continue to bring my animals to you!! Thank You!

My name is Arlie Bacon. I am the husband of Debbie Bacon, the pet groomer at Spokane Valley Animal Hospital. I have been married to her for 20 years and have never known her to be rude to anyone. She is truthfully one of the nicest people I have ever known. That is one of the main reasons I married her. She has been grooming pets for 14 years and has built a respectable clientele of happy repeat customers. For these reasons, it would be difficult for anyone who knows her, to accuse her of being rude or incompetent. She has encountered an occaisional difficult customer over the years as does anyone in the customer service trade.
However, this is the first time that one has posted slanderous statements about her on a public domain.. She is rightfully upset but will not respond personally. She has authorized me to offer a 10% discount to any new customer that mentions this review. This offer is valid until December 14th 09. Would like to wish everyone Happy Holidays. ( You to Jennifer ).
Thank you Arlie and Debbie Bacon

Completely Incompetent

Employees are extremely rude and unprofessional. The groomer is completely incompetent. Charged me $28 to bathe a six pound dog and completely butchered his haircut. He doesn't even look like a chihuahua anymore. I will never go back. I told them I was dissatisfied and the groomer called and left a nasty message on my voice mail. NEVER GO THERE!

I have been a cat owner for many years, so when my cat got ear mites I took him to this clinic. They were rude and impatient and told me he just had a bacterial infection in his ears. Two months later his ears are worse, so I took him to a different clinic: $250 dollars later they diagnosed him as having ear mites! Do not go to this clinic! The worst experience I have ever had!

This is my permanent vet clinic now. They were able to get my collie mix in ASAP when she had a stroke...the staff was more than willing and helpful to assist my "old" baby. Because of them she is better than ever.

They also assisted when my 16 yr old cat died of old age...they made a very stress situation with my family less stressful.

I will continue to go back again and again.

Tracy F,
You said you are gonna go back again and again? You probably will have to, considering they borderline malpractice in their daily activities. Enjoy your high priced bills, inconsistency in service and pet care, and low level of satisfaction

This vet is also another clean place and they are willing to work with you on your payments if necessary. (In the past they have with me anyways). Sometimes it's helpful to have that as animals health problems can get costly sometimes.
