I will never set foot in another Desert Sun tanning salon so long as I live. The pretentious 20-something 'help' constantly tries to pressure you into buying their 300 percent mark-up lotions and eye wear, lousy personal service & always a crowded reception area in the evenings (did I mention no appointments?) I have moderate customer experience with tanning salons of ALL types for the last 20+ years, plus my own retail based business experience of as many years, and from what I experienced for the last month of so-called 'professionalism in the indoor tanning industry', I must say steer clear of these overpriced, could-care-less attitude idiots. They just want to grab your plastic and burn it up with charges. The owner-franchisee would be wise to spend some quality-time in his establishment to get to know the customers that spend $PLENTY$ to look better, although that will likely never happen with the nature of flashy corporate franchises. These folks who probably should not even be in business (and probably wouldn't be if it weren't for that sweet inheritance grandma left behind), rely heavily on corporate to mass-mail to the masses, and stay well insulated from the day to day operations of such a business (un-f*#@kingbelievable!), adding up to a pathetic lack of personal service that is a growing cancer in America. I will go back to a local, unfranchised mom&pop operation where you ACTUALLY meet, and get to know the owners on a first name basis, imagine that! This sort of thing probably doesn't matter to the many young people who frequent these establishments, but for those who do, this should be a definite dealbreaker. Choose wisely because it's YOUR money they are taking. Come to think of it, maybe I should have bought an $80 bottle of lotion so the reaming wasn't so unpleasant ;)

I WILL NEVER GO TO ANY DESERT SUN AGAIN!!! Im sick of being "sold" everytime I try to go in and tan. They lie to their customers just to try and sell packages, upgrades, eyewear, lotion, you name it. Desert Sun has trained their employees to be annoying carsalesman. SAME THING AT EVERY LOCATION JUST DIFFERENT RUDE ANNOYING GIRLS BEHIND THE COUNTER!

I have been a Desert Sun tanner for years, i usually get a a decent experience when i go, i went the the Desert Sun in KENT at the KENT STATION. it was the worse experience i EVER HAD ANYWHERE.
I made an app. at 1pm, got there at 1250pm 10mins before. Waiting for till 1:05pm while the Girl named Tiffany tried to pressue the lady in front of me to buy more tans, the lady repeatedly told her NO, but she still insisted.
Tiffany finally checked me in, I needed to wait a few mins for the bed to be ready (no problem) I waited Another 10min, its 1:15pm, (my appointments was @ 1pm, i need to go to work) I finally asked Tiffany how much longer ? she apparently FORGOT about me and offered to Upgrade me for free to the Super Bed.
I go in take off all my clothes, the bed never turned on, im pushing buttons, im waiting naked in the room for something...NOTHING.... SO I GET ALL MY CLOTHES back on go out there and apparently SHE FORGOT ABOUT ME AGAIN. she said OH MY GOSH i forgot to start the bed ill let you tan for free today, Around 1:20pm i finally got to tan, it was rediculous. Why even make an appointment?I HOPE they DONT HAVE IDIOTS like that working @ every salon, other wise theyll be giving out FREE TANS ALL DAY LONG!

The customer service is great at Dessert Sun and it's a really clean place. I like their sunless tanning booth... just don't forget to take off your underwear in the spray tan. It will come out brown according to a friend! :)

The staff at Desert Sun in Covington is great. They are friendly and willing to help and accomodate whenever necessary. I have rarely had to wait when I have had an appointment.
