.

I took my car to Les Schwab in Federal Way because my brakes were squeaking and had the sound of grinding rotor. They claimed the brakes were fine (dust in the drums... what about the disc brakes?) and so I had them replace the struts.

When I picked the car up, I came away with an ABS indicator light on my dashboard.

I immediately (didn't even leave the parking lot) went back in and told them about it. "Oh, the tech wrote that the light was on". Bull! 1) If a light had been on, I would have noticed and mentioned it because I was already there expecting to have my brakes repaired, 2) If a light had been on, the guy who did the initial inspection would have probably mentioned it, no? They claimed to have run diagnostics on it and got no error code.

So now I am off to the Toyota dealership to see what got screwed up. I will not be back to this place as I have zero confidence in their abilities.

UPDATE: After going to the Toyota dealership, I found that the wires may have been pulled from my rear brakes when Les Schwab replaced my struts. With this information I went back and talked to John, the store manager. I was expecting World War III, but he was very calm and understanding and offered to pay for the repair at Toyota. I decided to let Les Schwab do the repairs themselves so we'll see how it all turns out. John has made the experience much better than it had been and if I get the car comes back in good shape I'll revisit this again.

We have been going to this store for the last 8 years and have found everyone to be very knowledgeable and VERY friendly. I will be going to this store from now on they are honest and fair, I had a noise that other places couldn't find when I went there the first time the lead mechanic knew what the problem was right away and fixed it and I have not had any problems since. Don't hesitate to go to this location.

Had tires rotated and evidentally the mechanic ''forgot'' to put back
on 3 of the 5 lug nuts on two of our tires. We found out because
the car was making an awful noise. When we took it in to be
looked at ... the mechanic told us that they had been hand
tightened and we would have been in a terrible accident.

However, the owner called back personally and said that the
mechanic no longer worked for the company so they did in
fact take immediate action - but this could have been a
huge disaster!!!
