First let me stipulate, we are not members of Puyallup 4 Square. We have considered moving to 4 Square, but we have obligations and commitments to our home church. However, when we need a really uplifting support service, we always go to 4 Square. Finding a church home is not only a personal adventure, but God will lead you to what is in His plan. So to denigrate 4 Square based on one visit is to only see one tiny piece of the puzzle. I find it interesting that nearly all the posts are from January 29, 2011. I have visited there enough to know I don??t recognize the negatives listed. Please bear with me and let me tell you why. I attended the Men??s Fraternity series at 4 Square and it was led by Pastor Archer. Roger is so open about his life, and I quickly learned and understood how God created a plan for his life. I was amazed and enthralled by God??s leading him through many unknowns that took complete faith. Roger was very open about many of the struggles in his life about trusting God; I could understand as I have gone through those too. But I think the whole story of the miracle of reconciliation between he and his estranged Dad spoke volumes to me. If you don??t know the story, ask him. Roger readily admits, he didn??t create the growth of that church, God did. Enough about Roger, bear with me as I talk about the rest of the 4 Square Church. God has used this church in so many ways with miracles of lives changed. God has used this church for hundreds if not thousands of first time and recommitments to follow Our Lord Jesus Christ. I have met most of the associate pastors, and they all have a heart for bringing people into a relationship with God. I am always impressed how all the Pastors are out front of the church greeting and praying with people before and after services. The church is open to ??come as you are, where you are? acceptance. A visitor I brought one week made the comment, ??a hooker off So. Tacoma way could come and be totally accepted?. I really sense God??s spirit when I attend, and walk out refreshed and renewed in my daily walk. Their youth program is second to none. Thousands of kids attend, are accepted no questions asked ?? and they love it! Many, many have come to know and love the Lord by way of their youth ministry. In fact, 4 Square purchased the Seventh Day Adventist Church and created a unique youth church that also provides weekday tutoring etc. I understand that the music may be a touch loud for some, but the message from the music has often touched my heart, and I know it will touch yours.
I could go on and on, but believe me when I say; Puyallup 4 Square has been a beacon and a force for God throughout the Puyallup Tacoma area. If you go to ??check it out? listen for God??s leading as to where you should worship. There are many good churches in our area, trust that God has a plan for which one you need to attend.

When I started attending Puyallup Four Square 4 years ago I probably would have agreed to a certain extent with the comments of some of these people making negative comments about the pastor and the church. I grew up a very conservative, very tiny Baptist church so when I came to P4Square the first time I was overwhelmed. It is loud, it is different. To say that it is all about the money, all about showing everyone how much money the church has, to say Roger Archer is strictly about the money would tell me that someone has only attended church here one time. If I would have left after the first time I would have never gotten to know the pastor and the church better. Does he preach prosperity, YES, does he preach tithing, YEEEESSSS, does he preach on the strength of the marriage union, YES, has this church helped thousands of people, 100% YES. The sad thing about sites like this is that they are like bathroom walls, anyone can voice an opinion without consequence. That is sad. I would way try the church again, with an open mind, and you will be surprised that God is actually there doing a great work.

I went to this church refered by a friend. It was very Noisy the word was not about god or spirituality instead it seemed more about money and finances. I would rather donate my money to the Government.

I went to this church because I heard it was just the greatest. The first thing I noticed were plasma tvs everywhere not just a few but more than best buy has in there show rooms. I went in the sanctuary deafining music and three large projector screens. I made it past the horrible music only to be told by some bald guy that I should pay him 300 dollars for the theater seat I was sitting in he then went on to say he did not want anyones money however if you dont give him 10 percent you are a thief and your robbing from god. The sermon was a horrible twist on the bible story of Abram not going up the moutian to sacrifice his son "He knew god was going to give him something and he would never have to lose his son cause only the bad god Baal asks for human sacrifice' hey if you dont like certain bible stories just dont read them leave them as they are written dont perversly twist them. Lastly he talked about Abram having a son that became the muslum race" It would have been better if he were never born then there would not be any of these problems in the world such as terrorists" I could harldly believe my ears what this man was talking about is called genocide the last dictator to talk this way was Adolf Hitler. I walked out as he was talking about how great his teeth were how great he was and all the nice things god had given him. The wierd thing is I was the only one to walk out what is wrong with these people are they hipnotized by the horrible music or is this the things they believe themselves. Do not delete my blog and call me a lier because everything I have written is true to the best of my knowledge I am just trying to wake you up you are in a trance

I used to drive up from Vancouver to attend until I made Puyallup my home. Why? Because it isn't easy to always find a group of people who are genuine, and loving and that's what I found here. The word is preached with out political correctness, social bias, or personal opinion. Roger ( senior pastor) is who he is on and off the stage. He's real! There isn't a sense of Religion in this "House of Worship", but a relationship with the LIVING GOD! I've worked in the music industry for awhile and it is great to be apart of a church that lets creative people( musicians, dance, sound, video, lighting, graphic artists) contribute their talents to the ministry freely. It may not be for everyone but I LOVE IT!

This church is odd. There are no crosses or other Christian symbols in the main worship area, but there are cameras and extensive stage lighting, a booming audio system and other entertainment elements. My family was invited by a friend who is a member of the church. We all had the same impression afterwards, there was no holy presence no sense of spirit at all in that place. The entire 'show' was about entertaining the audience and soliciting donations. I tried to find out later about the pastor, but there is very little information and what there is gives you the impression he was 'called' at about the same time he needed a new business project. I did not find his faith compelling, I half expected someone to offer me a bottle of snake oil as we departed. My recommendation is that if you want to fake your faith and offend God, then attend this church, otherwise you should probably stay home or go elsewhere.

I had my child at cascade christian elementary school in Puyallup which rents space from / shares the building with the four square church. While volunteering one day I heard people being loud in the hallway. It concerned me because their conversation was not appropriate for children to overhear... discussion of partying, promiscuity and alchohol use is not something I want my 7 year old exposed to which is why we chose to spend the money to send him to private school. Unfortunately, after complaining the Pastor, Mr Archer came to talk to me. Basically he ignored my concern, refused to ask the work release or community service cretins in the hallway to watch their language, and lectured me at length about how much money he has given (actually it was probably his church members) to the school, etc. As a result I've taken my child out of that school. The school is fine, but the environment is not supported by the church or it's pastor who made clear that his real interest is money, not God, not serving the community, not protecting children.

Pros: None - A great school is hampered by its association with this 'Religious Business'

Cons: The pastor cares only for money, to the extent he defends people talking loud and vulgar in earshot of innocent children

I have to admit, I was a little hesitant to try this church, because usually in big churches you feel insignificant and can get lost in the crowd. However, I must say from the very first day I felt welcomed and loved. The pastoral staff are wonderful. I love Roger and Tina (head pastor and wife). There are so many ways to get involved in this church so you never feel insignificant. They have tons of small groups and classes to satisfy anyone. It's no wonder this church has grown so quickly over the last few years. The Word is true and to the point, no political correctness. Plus, Roger is funny, so that makes it interesting to listen to. If you want a church that makes you feel like a part of the family, then this place is the place for you. Did I mention they have a coffee bar inside?!

PROS: Great people, great sermons, everything
CONS: none
