The museum of flight is an excellent mixed collection of civilian and military aircraft.
the Museum does a good job of presenting aircraft that are interesting & historical
Aircraft hang from the ceiling display halls ,the museum of flight often has one looking at the underside of aircraft.
It has a good mix of aircraft &jet traffic ,really it is awesome.

I love airplanes, which is why I love the Museum of Flight. I personally would not go more than once a year, however, because it seems like everytime I go, the same exhibits stay. I can't complain much though because the exhibits seem to have strong foundations that allow them to stay permanent. I find the prices to be a bit high, but with coupons or promotions, it may be worth while to check this place out.

As a flight fanatic myself, I couldn't have found a better place to visit. My wife's grandfather was a Boeing employee and highly recommended this place for a visit. There are planes everywhere! From hanging from the ceiling, some you can touch, videos you can watch, etc. I loved watching planes take off from the nearby airstrip as well. I know I'll be visiting this place on my next trip to Seattle as well. My wife wouldn't let me spend as much time there as I wanted to!

Found near Boeing Field in south Seattle (a handful of miles from downtown), if you're an aviation history buff you'll do no better than this sprawling facility. See Air Force One, the Concorde, run a flight simulator, comprehend the breakthrough of the Wright Brothers, and see scores of planes of every variety. Just what you'd expect so near to the home of Boeing.

This place was awesome. You see all kinds of planes, insidr and outside of the building. Actual planes, not just pictures. They show the history of pilots, licenses, clothing, propellers, engines -- everything through the years of their many changes. Some days, during certain times you can see the Concord, and an Air Force One plane. This is definitely worth visiting. Be prepared to spend many, many hours. Maybe even consider returning more than once.

PROS: Informative, entertaining, great for the whole family.
CONS: So big, can't se it all in one day.

This place has the biggest collection of planes I've ever seen. They have several buildings, with several levels in some of the buildings. I spent about 4 hours there and haven't seen all of it yet. I've gone through their WWI and WWII planes mostly. They have both the planes themselves as well as pictures, videos, history, etc., about pretty much all of the models they display. I've also gone through some of the more modern stuff. One of the coolest things they have is the jet-pack type hovercraft that was developed for the mulitary but never put in production. They actually got the idea from the James Bond movie for that one. They also got a few planes outside, including a Concord. I would definitely recommend checking that place out.

PROS: Lost of planes, both older and contemporary
CONS: Could be boring if you aren't into that.

We went to the museum of flight a couple of years ago and I have heard that they have made many changes to it since. I loved looking at the huge selections of planes they had on display. The information that was posted everywhere was a little overwhelming but still fasinating to read. My son loved that he could touch the planes and they had some nice activities for the kids.

The musuem grows from the little red barn that was the birth place of Boeing, to a huge building with displays from different eras. The red barn has a lot of aviation artifacts, and the 2nd story reproduced the actual engineering workshop of the then-young Boeing company. The space age displays are ok but the real fun is from all the planes hung from the main building's ceiling. The Air Force One outside is also an eye-opener. For the couple times I was there I saw Air Force fighters taking off from the airstrip right next door. Overall a good and educational experience.
