i just moved over here and work next door at nordstrom. I joined this gym in november and have had a good experience since. The locker rooms have an ironing board and steamer which is nice because i have to wear suits to work. when i first joined the office staff were kinda rude, but theyre all gone and now have a new staff. Since the staffing change things have been a whole hell of alot better. They all know the members by name and have tried to make the facility even better than it already is. To all you people crying about this gym, go to 24 hour and have fun with the awkward locker rooms and filthy facility

I'm loving my experience at Allstar!! The staff has been friendly and helpful. They have a great pool and alot of amenities and classes. Taking over the neglected YMCA building I'm sure was interesting. They are making improvements that the Y didnt address. Can't wait till its all done.

Us Portlanders are not as fortunate as you folks in Washington.
We have no more whirlpool ( they shut it down the day they took over the store) the steam room doesn't make steam, occasionally we have no hot showers, the pool temperature is 80 degrees and dropping and ventilation is poor, there is no men's lounge in the locker room anymore (part of their remodel job), the plumbing in the men's locker is falling apart, and some of the staff are down right offensive and abusive. I rate AllStar Fitness: NO STARS

West Seattle club: Huge! It is really a fantastic place to work out. Love the pool, steam room and friendly staff. There are so many things to do you can never get bored when you work out. Towel service is a real plus. Its the kind of gym I go to a few times a week because it is a big, fun, friendly place I want to go to - not because I have to go. The family atmosphere makes it friendly and safe. (Some other gyms in West Seattle feel like a gang hangout and are really dumpy.) A really first class operation. It has transformed me - losing over 20 pounds and feeling great. Someday soon I'll give the rock climbing a try - 30 feet high and looks really cool! The smoothie bar (in the 3 story high lobby) is always a refreshing way to end a workout.

Never join this awful company! I "three day canceled" my membership after joining more than a month ago after learning that they closed their Monroe location suddenly and without warning and locked out both staff and members. I still have not recieved my enrollment refund and it's been more than 30 days. I have years of experience working in the fitness industry and this company has some of the most alarming business practices I have even witnessed. Run away fast from these crooks!

This new executive club is awesome! On 5th and olive in the medical dental building. They have all brand new equipment and its never crowded. I havent had to ever wait for a machine or feel rushed in my workout to get off. The best thing about Allstar is the staff. They really make sure that the club has a great atmosphere!! They keep the club really clean too. They include awesome ammemitites like towels classes and full service locker rooms. plus you can use all there facilities. For all the stuff you get, The price is well worth it!

You will need your head examined if you decide to join ANY All Star Fitness club. They could take your money and close down without any notice at all! They will not return your calls, or emails and will not refund your money. Many people, including myself paid in advance for a year membership ($700) to save a few bucks but they closed the facility down in the town where I signed up and are not giving refunds. DO NOT SIGN UP for a year especially, even if you save a little money because in the end, they will take your money and run like the cowards they are! Supposedly, they want us to work out at a tiny little gym in town now and they claim that's "equivalent" to theirs and that is all need to do to fulfill their contract. They were even trying to get new customers to sign up for a year in the same month that they locked their doors! Check the news, they've even made the news on how they do business!

This club has allowed me to accomplish a 1 hour workout or less. It's been hard for me to find a downtown health club where I can leave my office and make it back within an hour. Towel service, Yoga, cycling, rock climbing wall, you name it, they got it! Very enjoyable...must see for yourself

This club has been going through construction for some time now. However, they are occupying new space and are very near completion. The new space is great, they now have personal trainers, and once it is totally open it will be an amazing gym. I can not wait to try the rock climbing wall!

this gym is small, dirty, and very impersonal. You have to wait to use most of the equipment, nobody ever wipes the equipment down, and they dont provide towels or anything. There is no tanning or child care like larger gyms have, and the rates are the same, so really this place is a rip off.

I joined this gym because it is so close to my downtown office. However, other than the location it doesn't have a lot going for it. The space is very small, so the equipment is really crammed in tightly. There is always a line to use the most popular pieces - treadmill, etc. The locker room is dingy at best. The worst part about this gym is that, as your membership gets close to the expiration date, you will get phone calls on a daily basis encouraging you to renew. I got calls at home, at work - it was a little much. All in all, if you work close by, it gets the job done. Otherwise, I can't recommend it.

PROS: Location
CONS: Too small, dingy

I just started working out at this location (used to go to the 5th ave location near my work); but I love this place. Humongous facility, and it only costs me about $45/month.... I can still work out at the other location with that too.

I joined Allstar Fitness a couple of years ago. I was at the club during the remodel and have been mostly happy ever since. The club was expanded and is absolutely beautiful. The classes are great, especially those with George.
I enjoy coming in and having the staff greet me, not the usual grunt I used to get at other clubs where I was a member and over the last couple of months I've met the new management who have been nothing but helpful when I've had a question, which I can't say of the previous staff. I had a problem with my bill back in December and the manager at the time (who was busy laughing with another staff member) told me when I asked him if he had time to go over my account told me no and that I could call the corporate office and speak with someone there. He said he didn't handle those types of things. Yeah, he sure seemed really busy. Recently I lost my job and was going to have to cancel my membership. I asked for the manager and thought I'd get the run around again but the gentleman that came out smiled, shook my hand and asked me what he could do to help. I was really in shock at first. Since I had lost my job he offered to cut my dues in half for 3 months which considering the rate wasn't that high it really made it easy to keep the membership until I found another job. The manager filled out the paperwork for me on the spot and let me know that if I had any other problems that I should always ask for the manager I would be helped in the club. Wow, what a change in attitude. I was expecting to get pushed off to another person but was treated as though my issue was important.
I guess the most important thing I want to put on this review is that no health club is perfect. The trainers aren't always friendly, the hours aren't the best but overall I LOVE the club. I'll recommend Allstar to anyone who asks and especially over the last few months, the new manager and great staff have made my visits even more enjoyable. Keep it up Allstar!

It may look nice on the outside... but what you don?t realize is that this place is run by slimy, low class, liars. Oh, and don?t ever try to leave because they will hold onto your account kicking and screaming!

When I first joined in Jan 2006, it was a sh*t hole, but they sold me by saying a new remodel would be done by that spring. Even the posters said June 2006. The remodel wasn?t done for another year after that. And in the mean time, there was constant construction, the locker rooms were horrible with homeless people showering in them, and you could never get a straight answer out of anyone.

Now that the remodel is done, it?s still mostly the same old machines and the new ones are always breaking. No one cleans anything.

About 6 months ago, I asked to upgrade so I could go to all the gyms they had and swim at the Key location. Shawn stood there and looked me right in the eye and said I would not have to sign another year agreement just for upgrading. Now I am moving, and I find out I actually was put into another year agreement, and the club has continued to deduct my monthly dues from my account, even though to your face they will tell you everything is ok.

Do not believe a single word the people at this club say! They do nothing but lie so they can get more money to support the huge remodel they did. Jason, Shawn and the accounting department are all sleazy liars and they should be fired. They do not care about customers and only care about your $$$.

Jason, the manager, told me over the phone every customer should have an attorney review their contracts before hand and he is not responsible for his lying employees.

Go someplace with integrity and don?t waste your money or time with liars.

I was a member at 24 hour fitness and quit because it was crowded and not that clean (in the north end.) My company has just signed up for a corporate membership here and I am loving it. It's clean, lots of equipment, lots of classes, and a fair price. Also, I love the towel service--no more having to worry about wet towels mildewing in my gym bag! I go early morning and never have to fight for the equipment I want. The staff have all been super as well. Oh and there are steamers and irons if your clothes get wrinkled, there are hair dryers, big lockers, etc... There's no pool, but they have a rock climbing wall and boxing. If you really want to swim, you are allowed to go to any of the Allstars.

What a great club! They are almost done with renovations. The club is modern, spacious, and clean with options for a separate women's work out room and a climbing wall. Equipment is new and the staff is helpful and friendly. Management is hands on and takes the time to listen to member needs. Parking is provided.

I have been a member since December and I am very happy with the gym. It has been undergoing renovations for the entire length of my membership, but things are coming together and I am very impressed. Most of the space is now open (including the new women's locker room - with sauna), personal trainers are available, and new equipment is beginning to arrive. The staff has been very attentive and helpful, and I look forward to the future!

The club is home to many people who work in the area and choose to use the club during their lunch break or even after work. The club is always clean and the staff is eager to assist. The club had been lacking size and renovation for quite some time, but relief is here a new state of the art facility of 45,000 sq. ft. just around the corner with rock wall, tanning salon, boxing studio and much more. Can't wait.

I'm looking forward to the expansion.

I recently moved to Seattle & have called at least 6 or 7 clubs today and every single one of them was very nice & helpful and very willing to give me specific pricing information over the phone...except for All Star Fitness (new name for this gym). The manager I was transferred to would only give me a very large dollar range and tell me that I needed to "come by for 5 minutes" to get specific pricing.

I explained to him that every other club gave me pricing & that I wasn't going to waste my time coming by unless it was a gym I was fairly interested in and he still would not. Based on this experience, I am definitely going elsewhere.
