This store has the capacity to be a terrific store- exchanging merchandise or even being paid on the spot for your used apparel (and shoes) and purses, or simply exchanging the credit amount you've earned for your donation, as they see fit. And herein lies the problem. As a Beauty Consultant who is always up on trends, and know the value of bringing in only clean and gently worn clothes (from myself- who diligently gets rid of everything not worn in over a year) and is/was delivering stylish, one of a kind, and even amazing designer purses to sell, I found out their rather grim and personal approach. I've visited 3 times recently. When you bring in your goods, be sure to eyeball who'll be looking over your things to estimate value. What I've experienced, and this was a killer to their business I thought, was that if the girl (all 20 somethings) was young-she had no idea of value, designers, or her consumers and would let amazing things go. Shameless, really! The same with the funky girl also employed there, who only bought what she liked out of the purses I brought, and with a Kate Spade (med. size-other and adorable ONE OF A KIND purses, none cheap, all clean and stuffed-even dry cleaned) and I had brought in about 7. They were not her taste (too refined for her, out of touch with consumers possible wants so obvious) so she let the rest go, said she couldn't use them. She sure could! And she bought the one of many that was no doubt going to be hers. I spied her admiring it. This was the purse SHE WANTED.And if you see the man, the manager I believe-he is square and fair, recognizes what will sell, is aware of designers (wow! At least one!)and will offer you a fair amount.I feel this store is filled with young, uninformed staff who doesn't recognize valuables, as I've looked through the store as well. Alot of junk. Suffice to say these girls are power trippers (imagine) as they decide what is great and not. CLUELESS!Cheap and tacky jewelry, too. Don't say I didn't warn you.
For Halloween, I may consider this store...for old, worn and wrinkled attire.

99% of the time that I go to Buffalo Exchange, they have a great selection at a decent price.
It's great to get a bargain on quality used clothing that has already been sorted through (unlike a thriftstore).
Big name brands, decent prices!

It's close to the University, so expect to find a lot of cute items in the store from desperate college students hocking their clothes for money. I too, once was a college student, bringing my loads of clothes to sell here. Also had a friend who worked at Banana Republic, and would bring his clothes here. Some he NEVER EVEN wore!! You'll find tons of good looking clothes from the students. Note: they are picky, and will not buy damaged, dirty clothes from you. You can opt to donate them there, but they will only buy what they know they can sell. That said, this is one of the better used stores that I've been in. Doesn't have that musky smell inside. Bright, huge, and a lot of cute clothes. That said, I never bought anything here, since I have a phobia of used things. But I did look around. Prices seemed decent to me for the namebrand items.
PROS: Trendy, cute selection, and they buy from you too!
CONS: They are picky on what they buy, and don't buy junk.

I come here a few times a year to "purge" my closet and sell whatever items I don't wear anymore. Compared to many other second hand clothing stores that buy from you, in my personal experience Buffalo has given me the most for my stuff and they offer even more if you plan on shopping in their store, which is not a bad option. They have some really great finds there if you look closely enough and do some serious digging around in their selection. I once found a very nice designer handbag at nearly 70% off its original retail price! The staff never makes you feel strange when they reject a particular item when they are looking through your things, something I absolutely cannot stand at other places. Another great thing about this store is that they will also buy your accessories/jewelry from you, so if you are an accessory-fanatic like myself and collect tons of accessories you end up not using, Buffalo is perfect for you to resell.
PROS: Some great deals and rare finds, most money for your clothes/accessories
CONS: Parking is very hard to find on the University Ave!

I'm not really a shopaholic...but I like to sell stuff. I've sold some clothes here but I've never really bought anything there. The prices are OK, but nothing special...you can get similar clothes brand new at stores when they go on sale.
They pay OK for your clothes too...but hey, the clothes you're selling you were just going to toss anyways.
PROS: sometimes you can find a good deal

Trendy and Cheap

So you wanna be a hipster? Here's the first stop on your way to the trendy top. Second hand stuff rules here, with a definite indie bent. If you ever wondered where those clicky, scenesters get their gear, wonder no more. They really do have some cool stuff at a relatively decent price. I got my current jacket there after my last one got stolen, and it was a good replacement.

Good place to make some quick cash

This store is located in the University district and is a used clothing store. I wouldn't say that their selection of clothes is anything of interest, you would be hard-pressed to find anything worth buying here. However it is great for making some quick cash. If you have gently-worn clothes that you no longer wear and they are taking up space, why not make some extra cash off of them. Its basically the same concept as Platos Closet, however it seems when I have taken my clothes here they accept more of my items than at Platos closet. Its a little hard to find parking, but especially if you live in the area and can walk, it can be well worth your time.

This store has a lot of stuff but it is some what lacking, considering the area, in hip things. But the items you find that are there make it worth the time sifting through the piles of bland things.

This place isn't quite as cheap, and they don't give quite as much cash as they might lead you to believe, but it is a good place to get quality (never stained or ripped) and sometimes name brand used clothing for a decent price.

This is an awesome place to go if you are looking for new/modern stylles of clothing, but don't want to pay new retail prices. It's a little pricey though, especially for used clothing. And it takes some time to sort through the packed racks, but worth it to find something good.
PROS: Cheaper clothing that retail stores, good for the wallet.
CONS: Not new clothing, still pricey for used clothing.

If you are into brand names but do not want to pay the price, I would definitely check out Buffalo Exchange-- at least once. It's not for everyone; you have to be willing to dig a little and make multiple trips to the dressing room before you will find something that is not overly used and fits nicely. But, it can be fun, and sometimes quiet rewarding. Oh, and be sure to at least try to sell some of your stuff first off so you'll have a little extra to spend.

I have had good and I have had not so good experiences. They do have clothes at good prices, but the selections is pretty grim sometimes. It's hard to find good cloths sometimes, plus they are usually very picky about what they buy from people, sometimes a little too picky. It seems they try to cater to one specific style too much

Located in the university District, buffalo Exchange is a buy, sell, and trade retail store.
Have a closet full of clothes that you dont wear anymore? Take them into Buffalo Exchange and trade them in for a new wardrobe. If youre broke and could use some extra cash then getting rid of clothing you havent worn in months could be the way to go to provide you with some instant cash. Buffalo Exchange buys mostly contemporary styles. If youre looking for looking for vintage clothing then walk up a couple doors to the Redlight
