The selection is just amazing here--the quirkiest, most interesting collection of clothes. The upstairs seems at first androgenous--it's impossible to decide which clothes are men's and women's. If you are looking for wild glasses, or really anything costumey then this is the place to begin. The prices are a little bit expensive for vintage clothes. I would recommend starting at Value Village.

Cool Stuff!
by Anonymous
Truly vintage stuff. Red light has been around for quite a while. They have a huge selection of items from the 70's and 80's.
Currently they have a pretty healthy selection of Halloween stuff too! This is a great place to accessorize. Cool glasses, shoes, classic jeans. You name it. Ive not seen such a healthy selection of vintage thrift!
Also dig in your closet (or your Mums) and take her stuff in to sell to add to the selection!

This is a great place to shop for vintage clothing - I found a pair of brand new vintage jeans at a good price. They also have a million ideas for costumes.

if you need a costume, then the red light vintage clothing has bunches of costumes or even clothing that you can make into costumes. there are a lot of selections of very unique artsy pieces. a lot of them fit more for the larger build person. so, not many pieces fit a petite girl like myself, unfortunately. but i still like savaging through the store momentarily to check out what's new.

While I'm not much into the hipster scene, I have to admit I love the clothes at Red Light. For quality vintage clothing, this is the place to go. Sure, you'll pay more than at Value Village, but the selection is way better, especially when it comes to looking through men's shirts.

vintage clothing just looks cooler when it is actually vintage. Forget about going to Urban Outfitter for all of your sweet T-shirts... the next time you are in the market for a favorite shirt or hat, cross the street to the red light.
PROS: awesome vintage clothes, good looking sales staff
CONS: don't try to sell them clothes if you are a fat guy...trust me.

This place always has soo many good clothes it's almost frustrating, but I feel like they are overpriced. Still, the clothing is usually in good condition.

The Red Light Clothing Exchange has some
good things if you've grown tired of your
old clothes and want to exchange it for
something different. There is a lot of

Thrift store for the lazy

I have mixed feelings about the Red Light because, while I have found some very unique items there, I always feel liked I am jipped a little. Personally, I think the store is for those that are too lazy to do some hard core thrift store shopping at places like Goodwill. And yes, while they buy clothing, don't count on getting more money back than what it will cost to by your Pho dinner.

Oh yes. I was able to bring a fashion aware female friend with me to this store. I looked like a total dork when I arrived. I mean, ok my hair wasn't looking great that day either.
We made our way downstairs. Vintage heaven. Lots of jeans and jackets to choose from. I went with the slim hipster wool pants and sily orange button shirt..oh yeah I also got some sweet slim boots. My, my, I was ready to go out and act like a rock star. Well, Ok had a show that night, so it made sense.
The store has several choices for men and women. Lots of jewelery and shades as well. It seems everytime I visit that place I come out with something fairly cool.
PROS: Vintage, various choices, cool atmosphere
CONS: none

Red Light was an interesting store for me when I first moved to Seattle. Surprisingly, I shopped there often. It's the kind of place where you need to go often in order to be able to find the newest pieces the store buys before they sell. The taste of the store is primarily aimed at vintage and retro styles. As for selling your clothes at this store, they are quite picky and don't tend to buy stuff that's not vintage.

I discovered Red Light when I was living in Portland, and was thrilled to see that there are also locations in Seattle. This is a great place to start if you're trying to leap on the hipster train and fit in at an indie rock show. Sell your clothes (if they're in great condition) for cash or come here to get a pair of sick blue jeans. Either way, you can't really go wrong. Granted it's a little overpriced, but you gotta suffer for the look sometimes.
