Took my mixed-breed dog for her annual exam. Vet explained that I had been over-medicating her. Her vaccinations are good for 3 years; no need to give shots every year. Likewise, no heartworms in the area, so no need to give heartworm medication. What a $ savings! No other vet every bothered to explain all this to me; they just took my $ & over-treated my animals. Vet also took her time getting to know my dog. Will definitely go back.

I took my American Bulldog in to the Tukwila Pet Hospital due to an ear infection. He is very big weighing over 100 lbs and kind of intimidating to look at. He is not an agressive dog at all and has never caused harm to any human being or animal (we have a kitten too). He had an ear infection and when the vet saw him she looked as if she had seen a monster, you could tell she was instantly intimidated. The entire time the dog was being examined the receptionist lectured me on how if she saw him she would not walk on the same street, that "pit bulls" are very dangerous and she cannot believe I would bring a kitty around him etc etc. This kind of talk went on for over 30 minutes. I explained he is a papered American Bulldog Johnson Bloodline and she said "it is the same thing as a pit bull". My thoughts are if you are going to be in the veterinary business you should love all animals. You should not be intimidated and my advice is if you have a pit bull, american bulldog or even a rotweiler as she mentioned I would not take it to this pet clinic. They were great with our boxer that passed but this is ridiculous. I will only take my big boy to a vet that will treat him with respect and not fear him, his breed or another breed. They are obviously in the wrong line of business.
