I have stayed at the Hotel Deca 3 times in the past two years and had a marvelous experience every time. The front desk help is friendly and accommodating. The rooms have a really neat art deco theme and are spacious with incredibly comfortable beds. The location is convenient to Green Lake and walking distance to University of Washington campus. Next time you are in the area, do yourself a favor and book a stay at Hotel Deca

I stay here when i come back up for business. THis is the greatest hotel in Seattle. It has the most welcoming and helpful staff. It has a great atmoshphere and there is alot to do in the surrounding area! Great for small business trips

Pros: Great for business trips

We stayed on the 5th floor in room 512. We were at the mercy of the sounds from the elevator, and because the walls are thin those sounds dominated our time there. In addition to that the smell of urine (from a previous guest) seemed to grow more pungent over the course of our overnight. This is a glorified party hotel, and the young staff doesn't seem to mind. On a positive note the rooms do look nice, and if you get a room facing southwest you'll enjoy a great view of the city and Mt. Rainier. Be sure to inspect your room before accepting it.

Pros: Great decor, great southwest views of the city.

Cons: Paper-thin walls, understaffed housekeeping

Granted, the layout of the room was fairly standard. Nothing exciting. But, the decor of the room overcame the layout. It felt like a luxury room (and, for the price, I admit I expected that). But, despite being downtown, the room was quiet and restful. The location is great. Walking to the UW campus was easy. Walking to Husky Stadium wasn't as easy, but it was pleasant. Just leave in plenty of time for the game. We really didn't take advantage of all the hotel had to offer, but it was a relaxing oasis in a busy weekend and the staff were incredibly nice and accomodating. I didn't even worry about my car out in the parking lot... we just walked everywhere and it was fine. The lobby with its huge fireplace was a great gathering place and we didn't feel rushed to get out of there. I highly recommend this place.

Pros: Style and Romance

Cons: Room was smallish

So this was my first experience with a hotel, (rather than a motel). My boyfriend and I are both college students, but we saved up and decided to splurge a little bit on a nice weekend to Seattle. And I must say I was very pleased with our experience! Everyone who worked there was incredibly friendly, one of the gentlemen who ran the front desk recommended a fantastic Italian restaurant and even offered the call set up dinner reservations for us. The breakfast was very good, I was kind of worried about what kind of selection they would have, but they had a large variety of food: fruit, coffee, cereal, yogurt, hard boiled eggs, muffins, bagels, juice, and the list goes on! The shuttle was also very nice all we had to do was call from downtown Seattle and they came and got us!
The hotel also has great location. Right next to the lobby is a Tully's coffee shop, (try the smoothies, they're the best!). There are numerous banks all within walking distance and tons of places to eat! There's also a little hole in the wall theatre across the street.

Pros: Free parking, shuttle, flat screen TVs, great breakfast, location, great staff

Cons: The only thing that springs to mind was the mattress in the room was a little on the firm side, but that's sort of a non-issue when you consider all the perks!

Nice hotel ... just that they got into our room (a mix up?) and took away the refrigerator ... got rid of the baby bottle/food and shopping from Pike Place Market. On sensing that we were a bit upset ... they fished the stuff from the trash and got it back to us! Hey, talk about great service!!

there's a bar in the basement with live music on weekends and the rooms are huge! A++++!
