Insider Pages Reviews for Hang Up Frame Shoppe & Gallery

Ratings_icons A unique framing and gift shop

Sharon C. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 7,766

This is a great shop to buy prints, get art exquisitely framed, and find unique gifts all year long. I had had my own art framed here several times and they did an outstanding job. They can help you pick the frame and mat if you are not sure what will look good. They have a lot of nature and animal kind of gifts that I have never seen anywhere else. The prices range from medium to expensive. Even if you are just window shopping, this is a fun store to walk through. It is right across the street from Factoria Mall, near the QFC.

Within my family, we have used the hangup for two dozen pictures, including five or more jobs over 60" long. I still look at other shops, but no one compares to them. Shannon is the master! Their selection of frames, fillets, and mats are easily the most I have experienced. They know what works well together and what is too busy. Sometimes, the specialty mats are what makes the job and at most of the chains they do not offer them. Framing is not inexpensive, so why use a place with limited choices. You will find the competitors 40% off coupon is a joke, as we did with an $1100.00 quote for for a very simple and basic framing job on a 12"x 60" photo. On the same picture, Shannon showed us a beautiful frame, matching fillet, over-sized mat and anti-reflective glass at less than the discounted price of the other store. Her first try was perfect, although we did look at other combinations. Another picture of Tuscany we had printed on canvas, she used only a frame that complimented the the sunset and landscape features and stopped me from way over doing the piece (at a higher price). The best part is they are a patient bunch, as I can never make up my mind from all their good ideas, and sometimes just keep returning to try something else, always feeling welcome. In the end, the framing is always perfect. I also do some of my own framing, and they are as cheerful cutting a sheet of glass or ordering a mat for me as doing a whole project. Last month, they found the perfect mat combo for a 24 X 36 fall foliage photo that I had struggled for months with. As nothing I tried did it justice I took it to them for ideas and indeed they found two specialty mats that comlimented the photo and frame that gave the whole picture that special "pop".
