I happened upon BLMF about 10 years ago after I grew disillusioned with Left Bank Books. I descended deeper into Pike Place Market, & passed by one bookstore that was closed for a few moments, & a then I walked into BLMF Books. That was the last bookstore I've felt so right in! Idk what it was, but I felt like I'd found some place I was meant to spend a, lot of time in, which I did until I left Seattle for good in late 2004. I've often thought of the quietly brilliant owner & the place he'd created packing so many good reads in the small space allowed. I never found a "bad" book in there, he had very high standards of what he'd sell, & he would go the extra mile to find a certain book if a customer requested it. I'd love to go back there, walk the rough wooden floors til I saw the trademark snappy hat thru the window, caught the scent of old books in my nose, &
said hello to the smiling face behind the desk, laughing at the great secret joke that hides in the name of the place, and is the reason why I love it so!

The BLMF Bookstore is the best used-books store in Seattle.
The owner is a young man who obviously reads and he has
quite a collection of rare and hard-to-find books.
Highly recommended!
