Good food and nice offerings on the menu, but this place needs a thorough cleaning! Dust everywhere, huge hole in the ceiling, grimy heater vents, and flies buzzing around the dining room.

Friendly waitress but understaffed. You might

I've been here about four times and every time I have had a good experience with this cafe. They have very good scrambled eggs (with other veggies). Their french toast and omlettes are also very good. Nice friendly staff. I love their peppermint mocha.

Pros: Very good eggs and coffee

Cons: Large wait times on weekends

I love this place. It can be busy, but is worth the wait. Their breakfasts are wonderful, I've never had anything I didn't like.

This is a great place to go get a take away breakfast (a great, yeasty, nutty cinnamon role) or a sit-in breakfast (I love their french toast with berry compote). Good espresso drinks too.

Went here on a whim since I was in the area. Great little cafe. The exterior does not due it justice. Once you walk in the smells were great. I had a cup of coffee and a piece of coffee cake while I waited for a table. Both very good. Once I was sat I had the sunflower breakfast. Two great pancakes, eggs, sausage and bacon with home fries. The home fries were a little on the bland side but everything else was perfect. The wait staff was very good and my coffee was refilled many times. Go early cause it fills up very fast. I highly recommend this place and will be back. There are many other things that I need to try.

This used to be one of my favorite neighborhood restaurants, but it has let itself go. It still has an attractive small dining room, but the menu has become a bit boring, where once it was a little more adventurous. Also, the execution is a bit lackluster, these days. How many times have I ordered the crabcakes, which are good but promise fruit salsa on the menu, but come with what is clearly bottled tartar sauce?

Pies, cookies and other goodies are still pretty reliable, whether following up a meal or ordered at the bakery counter.

Service is pleasant, though my favorite waiter seems to have disappeared. Prices are pretty good.

PROS: Edible but rarely outstanding food, good bakery, nice atmosphere
CONS: Just nothing special, any more

I've only been here for lunch, not breakfast, but found it terrific although, yes, a little pricey. I had the best turkey sandwich I've ever had here, bar none; the bread was fresh and tasty (it's baked on the premises) and the turkey was fresh and succulent. Service was good.

GREAT spot. Our new favorite breakfast place. If you're concerned about the $8-9 per plate, get a scone and share a breakfast! It'll be hard to find another spot with food, service and atmosphere that can compare with Sunflour! Go early on weekends to avoid the rush!!!!

The Sunflour has a way busy breakfast schedule, which is good for them, but bad for customers who show up too late to get a table. Especially on Sundays. I always walk there from my house with just a cup of coffee to go in mind, and if there is an open table I sit and eat. When I first went here I always wanted to eat, but once I changed my mind set to just coffee I have been less disappointed because when there is an available table it makes my day.

Our friends suggested this place as an alternative to our usual breakfast/lunch spots for a change. I was pleasantly surprised. Parking was super easy, and our waiter was polite and friendly and had good timing. I did think that the prices were a bit high (breakfast plates averaged around 8-9 dollars) but they were fairly big. Unlike most breakfast places, they don't list their sides out seperately, and most dishes contained meat, but they did have a couple vegetarian (dairy) options.

Lastly, the front of the store is indeed a bakery, and so I understand why this is listed under "grocery" -- but it would be good if Citysearch could list it also under "resturants" since it is at least 50% cafe.

Overall it's a 10! IGNORE the previous toxic user rating. This place is the BEST! We discovered the BEST jam secret from Sunflour and have told it to all our friends. They LOVE it...you'll have to go to Sunflour for breakfast or brunch and find out yourself. It's amazing jam...I can't believe I'm raving about jam, but it's something! The food here is really, really good. My husband and I eat out a lot and this is truly our #1, favorite restaurant. The service can be a tad bit slow when the place is at full capacity, but the ambiance is comfortable and relaxing so we don't really care. The breads are scrumptious and the flavors out of this world.
