I bought a used boat from SWS last winter (Dec 2010). Nothing fancy. 2005 MB Sport Wakeboard boat.

Dewinterized in late March. Had nothing but issues with it taking on water in the spring. Took it back to SWS when the bilge pump

I have done business with Seattle water Sports for over 10 years. I have purchased two boats from them and had the boats serviced there and am very satisfied with the service and pricing I received. My boat is in central Washington but I bring it back to SWS for regular service and I know the work will be done correctly.

I also buy skis, wakeboards, and other toys from SWS as I know they only carry quality products and provide excellent service.

I have referred many friends to SWS and they have referred their friends. Why deal with Internet based stores when SWS has great prices and service.

Took my v2100 tige in to have a ballast pump replaced. Service was fast and done well. They were very accommodating to my schedule as we were leaving on a boating trip in less than a week. Would use again for service anytime.

Replaced my 23' Maxum with a 25' Chaparral summer 2009 because of the great deals being offered. Great boat. I looked at them all and almost bought a Azure. Drove to Kenmore to see a comparable Chaparral and was sold immediately. The problem is for service I have a 1 hour drive. They need an outlet in the south end. A fancy show room would be nice too but that would then be reflected in prices so I'm glad for the warehouse.

Problems - I had 3 "void" spots as they called them where the fiberglass caved in the size of thumbnails. They fixed these free at my 20 hour service. They fixed some things that I broke too "under warranty". Can't beat that.

Just a great boat. Only 4 stars because they have a north end location.

Pros: Great boat - the best out there

Cons: These guys are in Kenmore and I am in Gig Harbor

I purchased a new $100,000 Chaparral 270 Signature Cruiser from Seattle Water Sports (SWS) in July 2009. Within weeks it was clear that the boat had numerous defects. The issues ranged from basic (torn seat cover, broken cabin light, stained upholstery, stress marks) to severe (engine, generator, AC, water leakage). It was painfully clear that SWS never did any kind of walk through to be sure the boat was in working order before they delivered it to me. When I approached SWS about my concerns about getting a lemon, the owner of SWS tried dismissing these issues as ??typical boat maintenance?.

Against my better judgment, I made every effort to have the boat serviced by SWS during the first 60 days of ownership, but they proved incapable (or unwilling) of servicing the boat in a satisfactory manner. By September 2009, there were still 28 unresolved issues rendering the boat inoperable, and I was forced to get my lawyer involved. Now, almost a full year later, I continue to write checks for a boat I can??t use, and I can only hope that legal system will eventually work in my favor.

(Contacting Chaparral directly has been fruitless, as they have masterfully ignored my pleas for help)

Engine ?? leaking drive fluid into the water, billowing smoke at acceleration
Generator ?? has never worked properly, numerous issues
AC ?? leaking water into the mid birth sleeping quarters
Water Leakage ?? the windshield was never sealed properly to the cockpit area. When it rains, water floods the sleeping quarters. I discovered a nasty moldy mattress less than a week after taking ownership of the boat.

BTW: I gave them one star because a couple of the guys I worked with were nice.

Buyer Beware!

We take our boat in every year for a Spring cleaning and tune up. Sort of hard to get to, but they seen to know what they are doing. Make an appointment early to avoid the long wait. They also have good quality equipment and boat safely supplies for purchase and also some unique water toys. Big selection of wake boards as well.

I highly recommend this shop, in fact I travel to the Kenmore shop because of their expertise on wakeboards and available accessories. I have noticed that they also will meet or beat internet prices too so it is well worth the drive. Very helpful and freindly staff!
