Jimmy Macs Roadhouse

Renton location: Service was excellent, food very good and atmosphere even better. Would go there again and willing to bring friends and family. Ice tea glass never went empty.

Portions were large, prices reasonable.

Hard not to fill up on the bread!!!!

Bad food, Bad service. My wife and I were put at a table in a busy area despite most of the tables being empty, long wait, poor quality food for the price. Even my beer was stale.

I ate at the federal way location, the service was good, but the food was not. I ordered a halibut sandwhich, and you can get a much better fish sandwhich at mcdonalds, table was sticky, all in all, I would not go back

This a review for the Federal Way Jimmy Mac's ..........During lunch I smelled raw sewage, thought I was mistaken . Approached the manager who was indifferent and waitress who knew they had a problem the day before with the bathroom plumbing. All they were concerned about was payment for a meal not eaten. Called regional manager who promised to get back to us...no phone call yet. Poor customer service and watch out for the plumbing. Do not recommend the Federal Way resturant Go to the Renton Resturant.

If you are in the mood for a good steak and a casual atmosphere, then Jimmy Mac's Roadhouse is where you should go. With almost every meal you get this fresh warm bread that just melts in your mouth. Reasonably priced too!

When my wife and I moved to Renton, before we were married, we started looking for local resturants to frequent. We stumbled over Jimmy Mac's, it's near a Wal-Mart and shares a parking lot with a Billy McHale's.

First thing you notice is the music - they play both kinds: country and western! Music was playing through the speakers outside the building and even louder inside. I'm not a big fan, but the smell of steak drew us in!

The floor was covered in peanut shells, the servers wore colorful t-shirts with phrases like "Caution! Backfire Chili On Board! and "Catch of the Day: Cow!" We were greeted at the door and shown immediately to a table. None of the chairs matched - they paid a lot of money to look totally trashy. Our table was directly under a speaker blasting away. They have TVs tuned to sports, but even up close you can't hear the game.

My wife and I sat eating peanuts and (awesome!) yeast rolls with honey butter. The waitress came, took our order and was gone - all very friendly and efficient. Then, we heard a chorus of yelling behind us that nearly shocked me out of my seat, "Fried Chicken, Country Hog! It's your Birthday, Hot Dog!" People applauded and I buttered another roll.

When the steaks arrived, they were perfect. I mean it, perfect. I ate this heavenly steak like a man who had never eaten steak before. (Later, I had the ribs and the pork chops, all excellent!)

Needless to say, we are repeat customers. If I say "Let's go to Jimmy Mac's," my wife is instantly happy - she likes country music! The service is friendly and competent. I have NEVER gotten a steak prepared incorrectly. The prices are reasonable. I have introduced all of my friends and family. Over our wedding weekend, most of our guests went to Jimmy Macs, and went back again and again!

Low carb? Skip the rolls, eat the peanuts. Replace the potato or fries with the mixed veggies or mushrooms. Enjoy!

Did I mention the steak was perfect?

I hadn't had a good steak in a long time - and this was so good! We went at dinner time on a friday and didn't have to wait for a table.

It cost us about $60 for 2 adults and 1 child. Not bad really for streak dinners. They also serve peanuts and hot fresh rolls when you are seated. The crawfish chowder was excellent, as were our meals. I was pleasantly surprised to find they served REAL horseradish on request - very hard to find out here on the west coast.

Unlike many steak restauraunts this one is kid friendly. Our 8 year old had a great time.

The only down side at all for me would be the country music playing in the texas roadhouse themed dining room.

Even with that said, I will definatley go back!
