Dr. Madden is HORRIBLE. I made an appointment for my dog and when I arrived was told she was running about 20 minutes behind. I waited 55 minutes before being seen for a total of a 5 minute lookover. She then proceeded to be verbally abusive, abrasive, and downright rude to me - she even went so far to say I was "pathetic" and was upset that my large dog didn't have a "man" to bark orders at him. Dr. Madden then charged me for a full office visit, despite being so late and unprofessional. I am a business professional myself and I would NEVER make a client wait 50 minutes, belittle them, and then charge them for my full "service." I will never go back to this clinic to see her again.

That being said, I did have a good experience with the male vet there. It is so unfortunate he has such an unpleasant business partner who gives Scattercreek a bad name.

I love Scatter Creek. Everyone I have encountered there has been wonderful and kind. The receptionist is great, the doctors are wonderful and the facility is beautiful. They are very reasonable in their pricing as well.
They take great care of my pug, boston terrier, and kitty. I won't be taking my babies anywhere else!

I have found the staff--including the front desk-- to be extremely helpful, generous and friendly. Dr. Thomas is both extremely knowledgeable, caring and humorous. I loved my other vet clinic, But Scatter Creek offers different types of venues of healing at incredible prices with incredible care.

My husband and I cannot say enough good about ALL of the staff and ALL of the care and ALL of the knowledge given to our animals.

I only wish that Dr. Thomas once again worked with horses as well.

Thank you Scatter Creek for everything that you do.

I loved Dr. Randall's quirky personality from the git-go. Not true for the front desk receptionist. Her big blue eyes are sparkly and sweet looking but her moods swing around the customers coming through the front door. Sometimes I feel welcomed, and sometimes the receptionist is down right scary!! The back office folks that do the hands on with the pets are fabulous as is Dr. Randall. I have 9 dogs and 2 cats, and can bring alot of business into a Vet's clinic, but I stopped bringing my pets into this clinic for about one year, for three reason: ONE - the receptionist is really not very nice, and when she is, it feels like she is performing an unnatural act, and I think I'd rather her just be her grumpy self, than to see her fake it. TWO - one of my dogs broke it's leg, nothing that a cast couldn't fix, but after taking xrays, and charging me the office visit, and exam, and the xrays, the Dr informed he doesn't fix broken bones!!! WOW, how come no one bothered to tell me this BEFORE charging me an arm and a leg for services that did not lead to fixing my dogs broken leg!!!, I thought this was unethical behavior from the entire office staff uncluding Dr Randall. If you don't fix broken bones, then don't take peoples money and pretend you do!! THREE - my tiny 5 lb dog got all chewed up by a large dog, life threatening situation, I rush my dog to Dr Randall's office, but yet again after charging me for xrays, drugs, exam, Dr, Randall said he couldn't treat my mangled dog, too serious condition but he did give her meds to help ease her pain before telling me to take my dog elsewhere. I was horrified. Those are the three reasons why I stopped going to Scatter Creek Vet Clinic. For the past year now, I have returned to Scatter Creek Vet Clinic, mostly out of convenience to myself as I have 11 pets total, and the clinic is just a couple miles from my home. The receptionist is still hit or miss with polite customer service, I still love Dr. Randall's fabulous, personalable, friendly personality, and I ONLY take my pets to this Vet clinic for GENERAL care, such as annual check-up and vaccines. If any of my pets get broken legs, or have a serious injury, I have learned NOT to take my animals to this clinic. I rated 4 stars, because if you can get past the receptionist, then Dr Randall and the back office hands on pet care folks really do a bang-up job, they deserve the 4 star rating, and all my pets are in excellent health under this clinic's GENERAL care. Extra comment, the prices for services are about average compared to other clinic's.

I will forever be greatful to Dr. Thomas Randall. I brought my 9yr American Eskimo in there. At first he wasn't positive what was wrong with her. He then decided to test for Salmon poisoning, just to be safe he said. Sure enough, my baby had Salmon poisoning. That clinic walked me though her care process every step of the way. I would call them twice a day giving them up dates and asking advise or what the next step was and they always treated me wonderfully. I'm happy to say my baby girl lived and is now 13yrs old. At the age of 9 she should have never survived salmon poisoning. Since then Nikki has had other things gone wrong. But every time Dr. Randall does his best, gives me a realistic out come and does the right treatment for my dog. They also let me make payments for her treatment and the prices are fair. I recommend this vet to everyone and will only take my dog there.

I had been using the Chehalis/Centralia Vet and decided to use this one since it was alot closer to my house and the estimate they gave me over the phone for a small dog neuter was very affordable. We work in Dachsund rescue and are members of AHDRS. I am also a former vet receptionist and assistant.I will never go there again! The quote they gave me over the phone was shady.... a quote for the surgery charges only. They forgot to tell me about another $28 for anesthesia and another $10 for sutures. The dog also had a tiny dew claw that needed to be snipped and they told me it would be a few more dollars to which I said yes, and then charges me another $28 for that! I asked for a rabies vaccine, which they forgot to do, and I had to wait for at the end of the day. Told me I had to come back in in 10 days to have the sutures removed, but when I got the dog in the car I realized he had skin glue on his incision and it was sutured from the inside, which does not require another visit. The receptionists had no personality or sense of humor and were not friendly. Hello it's customer service?Very disappointed. As a former vet employee of 7 years... who knows the business, I was extremely upset and will not use them again. I'd rather spend the extra gas money to go a bit further!I took 3 rescue dogs in to be spayed at Chehalis and it totaled $270, including antibiotics, a fecal, and rabies vaccines. Took this one in for neuter at Scatter creek and came out with a bill for $131... you do the math! The gals at Chehalis are alot nicer too! Friendly and talkative, and they actually smile!

They have the same excuse/diagnosis for every dog that walks in with something. It's awful. Will treat any animals except rabbits because someone is allergic - shouldn't of been hired anyway.
Cheap, good payment plans though, and understand your losses.
Just wouldn't recommend.

Poor customer service and questionable practice will keep us driving to Olympia for our pet care needs. From the office staff and techs we received horrible service waiting one hour from the time of a scheduled drop off for a planned surgery without any appologies. Then our kitten had an incision line that had difficulty approximating due to the horribly crooked incision line. With another attempt to purchase an over-the-counter product, we received condescending and rude customer service. We will never return.

Both of my doggies were spayed at this clinic in January. Everyone was helpful, knowledgeable and courteous. They relieved my concerns about after care for my doggies both on the phone and in person. There was little or no waiting to be seen by the doctor, all procedures were explained completely and an exam was performed with care and professionalism. The office staff was organized and the facility was clean smelling and immaculate!
I recommend this clinic to anyone who is discerning and expects the best.

This veterinarian office is ok. I like the building it's very nice. Seems very cozy and animal friendly. The doctors don't really know how to diagnosis things which isn't very good. Our dog has a very interesting skin disease that requires her to be on medicine for the rest of her life. They didn't give her the right medicine and she got worse. Otherwise I do like this vet for my cats. The only thing is they don't even treat rabbits and they should. I'm a rabbit breeder so that's one downfall but now I take all my animals to Fords Prairie so it's ok.

Dr. Randy Thomas and the staff do an outstanding job taking care of toy poodle. We got "Oscar" when he was 9 years old. He has a very sweet disposition, however he had some health issues. When we first took Oscar to Dr. Thomas he was overweight, had a bad back and knee. Now in his in great shape (changed diet and added exercise) and now this sweet dog (11) has the pep and bounce of a 5 year old - he is enjoying life so much more because of Dr. Thomas and all the wonderful people at Scattercreek Animal Hospital
