It is rather unfortunate this does not have a rating system that would be equivalent to -5 stars. The numeric value is irrelevant, negative is negative and Jim's Cameras deserves nothing less.

-1 for Service
-2 for Customer Satisfaction (or rather dis-satisfaction)
-3 for DISHONESTY/ Misinforming the Customer (on purpose)
-4 for Using this to his GREEDY ADVANTAGE
-5 for LACKING anY ETHICAL SENSE in conducting business-Jim's Cameras IS NO BETTER THAN A COMMON THIEF!!

Proudly boasting, "Since 1993 Jim's Cameras has been serving the camera needs of Seattle..."
My camera needs were to sell a 16-35mm f2.8L EF-S Canon Lens,
a Canon 188A Flash (for older Canon mounts, FD), Canon Speedlite 550EX (for all EOS), a Nikon hard leather lens case & a few assorted lens filters for a fair value.

What I received was barely enough gas money to make it home &
a story that my items were of no real value, even stating "they were for film cameras"... (and as most camera enthusiasts know it's really about "shooting digital...") Seeming almost pained when handling the Canon lens due to its worn outer appearance & faded markings, making me feel about 2 inches tall for even attempting to sell a lens in such condition... Claiming to be "A Quality Store Where You'll Get Honest Service..." and as someone with a greater knowledge than myself of the value the items I presented, I accepted his offer.

I wasn't completely naive & had done some internet research, but foolishly I hadn't figured Jim's Cameras to be a CROOK! Taking his word at face value. Unbeknownst to me, Jim's Cameras would be making a very, very nice profit when my items finally sold.
In fact, once the hard, leather Nikon lens case sold for $39.95, Jim's Cameras was no longer out of pocket. My other camera items would bring a profit of $1095 for the lens, $79 for the 188A flash & $249 for the Canon 550ex Speedlite. Ripping me off for a grand total of $1423...
For anyone having a sense of morals, decency & a greater concern for the state of our existence, consider the cause that might very well be the effect of Jim's Cameras "good deals" & "unbelievable priced camera equipment"... It probably starts with someone, financially in a bind, seeking the expertise of someone, owning a Camera shop. A business, where one would think, they were not being taken advantage of, led to believe this business conducted themselves with INTEGRITY, NOT RIPPING OFF THE CUSTOMER to meet their SELFISH GREED... Jim's Camera does not DESERVE the profit, he swindles from unknowing customers!!

Pros: THEY HAVE STUFF YOU JUST DONT SEE ANYWHERE ELSE

Cons: PARKING HOWEVER I DO MY BANKING AT WA MU & RUN ACROSS THE STREET

The selection of used SLR camera lenses here is the best in Seattle. They have lots of used camera stuff in general (some digital too), but the used lens selection is amazing. People may not know this, but old AF nikon lenses work perfectly on modern nikon DSLRs (but not D40). I've bought SLR bodies and lenses at Jim's and been very happy.

Pros: Great selection of used camera stuff, great value, used stuff is warrantied.

Cons: Their hours can be unpredictable. Call before you go.

Do not go here, it is not recommended by other businesses.

Pros: Cheap Cameras

Cons: Defective equipment, False Guarntees, Not Trustworthy

Jim's is a good place to find a used camera. They have lots of old cameras, some newer, and all kinds of parts, equipment, and accessories. I found an older 35mm camera that I used for a long time, and got it at a much cheaper price than if I would have got it new. They have a lot of photography books and stuff like that, too.
