Amazing Service and a Seattle Tradition

We got married in the Penthouse at Canlis in May 2005, and have had dinner several other times. The service was just amazing, and the food and wine was excellent. The sommeliers are experts, and the entire waitstaff very helpful and knowledgable. The menu changes seasonally and is not very extensive, but I've never been disappointed. They specialize in Northwest cuisine and seem to use a lot of local ingredients. There is often a chef's tasting menu which is quite unique. Desserts are excellent and the wine list is huge.
A great place for a romantic dinner or an event. They are very flexible in letting you bring in your own cake, flowers, etc. Their events coordinator came into work on our wedding day just to help us out, even though she doesn't usually work on Saturdays.
Everyone at Canlis goes the extra mile to make it a special occasion, even just for an "ordinary" dinner. For an extremely special occasion, book the "Cache", a private dining room for 2-4 people. It's unbelievably romantic and has a breathtaking view.
Parking is all valet and your car magically arrives when you leave the restaurant - no waiting!
PROS: amazing service, great for events, lovely view, yum food
CONS: very expensive, forced valet parking (that's not free)

Our family had an anniversary party here and this is definately the 5 star dining of Seattle. The view is great and for those who knew Canlis in Honolulu, you'll get nostalgia when you walk in. Bring money.

World class reputation for a price.

To Seattlites, Canlis has always received praise and respect for its dependably impressive food and unique location. I cant argue that the restaurants location is remarkable and provides some of the best dining views in town, but the food is very expensive and while it tastes good, Im not convinced it is always worth it. I know, though, that the reputation precedes this place, and that in going there, its not all about the food. So, go prepared to pay a lot, get good food, and youll be satisfied!

If its been a while since you and your loved one have done something romantic together the Canlis would be a good start .The food is to die for and the view of the bridge canal makes this the perfect place for your evening intimate conversation,Though it is spendy I still highly recommend it.

One of my favorite places to eat. The prices are high but this is quility gourmet at its finest. You can eat some of the best dishes that Seattle has to offer. Everything has a Northwest flair including the great decor. Located just before the Aurora bridge it also offers a great view of the ship canal.
