Main Chinese Buffet

Totally agree with JL...Food is Fantastic! Let me tell you, with the massive crowd that Main Chinese Buffet maintains, they have enough, if not too many patrons. For New Chinese Buffet's very affordable price, you can't beat the variety & the "All You Can Eat" sweet deal! What we're especially impressed with is the fact that they always give the elders special treatment which is what restaurants should be doing. That shows how caring they are. As mentioned, the crowd there is phenomenal! It's as if there's a pot of gold there or something, by the way the customers just flow in, my gosh! Cool Restaurant!

It is a known fact that restaurants will Almost Always charge more for meals on "Holidays"... HELLO!! This is understood. Regarding New Chinese Buffet....A LOT of people we know always Raves about that restaurant. This you know is true from the crowd they draw. They're ALWAYS packed with customers, at ALL HOURS of the day/night! We ourselves have been there numerous times and found the food to be Super Awesome!! All the time!

I was curious to see the poor reviews below for the Main Buffet, we have been going there for a LONG time and we are tough to satisfy. You got to be a good deal with good food to get our sparse restaurant funds....we take company, my daughter picks it for her birthday every year etc.

My only complaint is I would love to see more variety over time. As for the crab, sometimes it is a little water logged but sometimes its is fabulous - big thick pieces of meat as a reward for the work! Service is always fine and price - still the special - $4.99 for lunch and I think $7.99 for dinner is insane for the food you can eat!

I'm a Chinese customer who was appalled at the Main Buffet. We had a really bad experience recently. If you go there around the time they change from lunch to dinner they will charge you two meals per person. No kidding! I got charged for a lunch and a dinner because I was there when the time changed from lunch to dinner. Complaining to management got me no where as they don't care about their customers. Also, the crab was tough and not fresh. I was obviously recycled from the night before. This is one of the worst Chinese buffets I have been to. Not recommended.

I use to think it was a decent place to stop for a quick bite. Today is my third day of vomiting what seems like every 20 minutes. I ate a piece of sushi that kinda tasted weird. Pulled another piece of sushi apart and saw bad looking fish that was discolored and mushy. It was visibly, bad why did they serve it anyways. Told a few friends and they just said I thought you knew eating there was like playing Russian rullet. They don't switch out the sushi they just add more to the plate and no time of freshness is given. So you don't know if you got the one sushi that was transferred from plate to plate for 6 hours. They throw nothing out.

Main Buffet is my favorite Chinese restaurant in Olympia and has never disappointed any guest I have taken there over the years. The owners are always friendly and the servers are courteous even after removing piles of plates from our table. Food is tasty and fresh because of the high turnover of customers. Their sushis are not too chunky so I have room to try out more kinds. Their 10th anniversary special promotional price gives me even more incentive not to cook.

14 $ a plate is not reasonable for a buffet . buffet is supposed to be more economical,we could of went to happy teriyaki gotten more food and paid half the price we did at main Chinese buffet . what a joke i don't recommend this place to any one ever .

This is a very good chinese buffet with super location and lots of parking a real plus. They have many types of chinese food plus American foods to select from. The access is very good and near a movie theater and shopping. The service is first class and you can eat there if in a hurry as the restaurant is very large. The prices are on the low side for a buffet.

PROS: Pricing is good, many items to choose from all good.
CONS: Some times can be crowded

Main Chinese Buffet is one of the better buffets I've tried in a while. They have the best lay out and selection of sushi I have ever seen at a chinese buffet. They also cater to kids' taste buds with an american selection of pizza,fries,chicken nuggets,etc. Their food is not too greasy and and the service is excellent. For the price (under $10.00),you can't beat this place.
