.

A child??s boundless imagination allows them to see ultimate art inspiration in an old cardboard box and a roll of colorful tape. This innovative, eco-friendly, local gem takes that idea to a whole new level. Creation Station is the definitive source for the ultimate thingamajigs, whatchamacallits, or whojibs for your child??s next craft masterpiece.

Housed in a small, nondescript, warehouse-esque building behind a Lynnwood strip mall, one??s visual senses are immediately stimulated upon walking through the door and viewing the floor to ceiling, repurposed barrels filled to the brim with a rainbow of colorful items. Welcome. You have just entered arts and crafts heaven.

Creation Station is a unique venue for drop-in creating (only $7!), birthday parties, and field trips, as well as an excellent resource for the rainy day activity box, or school project provisions. Kids will love the wide variety of unique materials available, and parents can feel good about helping to keep castoffs out of area landfills. An eclectic mix of surplused and recycled items fill the store, and half the fun is in trying to figure out what many of them were once used for. Objects such as film canisters, egg cartons, medical supplies, flooring samples, mechanical parts, yogurt containers, leather scraps, and so much more just await the creative juices of child and adult artists alike.

They also stock many traditional craft supplies like beads, foam, felt, stickers, magnets, paint, rhinestones, sequins and die cuts, making it truly one-stop-shopping for the creative soul.

Pros: helpful staff, ever changing stock, great drop-in price

Cons: location

The Creation Station is one of my favorite places to go. They have a bunch of quirky things that can be created into anything. The staff is very generous about donating to the community. When I was little, I was always really excited to go to birthday parties here, because they always made it so fun!
