Our trip was on 8/14/11, we had a great adventure. The boat was not over crowded, only about 14 people. Capt. Pat was very professional, easy going and seemed to have a good sense of humor. He and deck hand Leon a good rapport. They were very
knowledgeable had some good stories. The scenery was amazing
and beautiful. We had such a good time we already have plans to
go back next summer. I will admit breakfast could have more variety and the "overstuffed" deli sandwich was kind of thin, but the sack lunch did come with a bag of chips and some granola
and an oats' honey bar for a snack later and water was always available.

I am distressed to see what Chuck S had to say, only because it means that this is standard operating procedure w/ Beamers. No safety talk what so ever?! Children's lifejackets were WHERE? We ran out of fuel before reaching Hellers Bar, we drifted down river until another boat came along and loaned us a rope so we could tie up on the shore. We sat for hours waiting for rescue. No one was injured, but that doesn't make what did happen OK. We did get a refund. We never made it to our destination. The company did communicate with me, explaining that we blew a gasket and that there is limited communication along the river. That doesn't resolve all the errors made that day. Others obviously had better experiences. They must do something right to stay in business.

Overcrowded boat, seated 3 per bench; virtually impossible to see the beauty of the canyon; no safety discussion or information about where to find life jackets; the food served was nothing like that pictured on the Beamers website........the breakfast was feeble and the sack lunch, well, why do they even bother with it. No refreshments served during the 7 hour stretch following lunch. The captain was indifferent to his passengers/customers and downright sarcastic & rude to the first mate; I cannot recommend this tour company to anybody.

The tour up Hells Canyon conducted by Beamer's is something not to be missed. They offer an all day tour, a half day tour and an overnight tour. Any one of them is worth the price which costs a little over $100.00 per person. Sound high? Its worth it.

We took this tour this past summer up the Snake River to Hells Canyon. The guides were great and helpful. Stopping just about anywhere on the tour if you wanted to take pictures. The guides were very well informed. Would love to do this again somethime.
