Knows his Tohatsu outboards. After a disastrous, costly, and dragged-out experience with a 'well-known' shop in Ballard who did more harm than good to my 2-cycle 18hp, I fortunately took it to Sorensen's. He got to the motor within just a few days, fixed in a day, and it's running perfectly. Sure wished I had gone there first.

Sorensen Marine knows Tohatsu outboards! I have a 9.8HP 1 year old outboard that I thought had starter problems. As it turned out, it didn't, it was a battery issue. The Sorensens (father and son) worked fast to find out what the issue was and they didn't run the bill up like some auto dealers we all know. They are truly knowledgeable of the motor and can quickly scan the motor for external signs of proper set-up. Something that only comes from years of experience and knowledge. They also asked me questions about my application and showed me how my prop was the wrong pitch for my application. They didn't pressure me to change the prop, which I appreciated. I did take their recommendation and change the prop and now I have better performance and better mileage. The only negative is that parking is limited and it is somewhat hard to get into the lot going south because the entrance is only 50 feet past the intersection. I recommend entering the lot going north (shop is on the east side of the street) to make sure you don't have to cross traffic in a busy intersection.

After having been fleeced by another marine dealer for nissan outboard parts, it was a pleasure doing business with Sorensen Marine. Good to know there's a straight shooter in town.

What a pleasure doing business with such a business as Sorensen Marine. I've had several occasions when I've been in need of marine services. Once was for a new outboard motor, other times were for service and parts. Sorensen has been a delight each time.

While I have to drive a little further to get to white center, I take the trip each time with great pleasure. As an example, there is a marine store that sells and services outboard engines about one mile from my house, but the times I've gone in there I've had nothing but the hard sell and lots of confusing run-around. Sorensen on the other hand is easy to work with and honest in every regard.

When I purchased my outboard, they not only tested it and ran it in their tank, but they also tuned it so that it would run more efficiently. The unit I purchased was running a bit rough and so the fuel mixture was slightly adjusted. There was no charge for this. When I picked up the motor they spent adequate time giving me a rundown of this motor's functions.

Service at Sorensen has also been easy. I found their rates fair and they did not charge me for little things.

PROS: Honest; dependable; Great service; Do not give the run-around
CONS: A small shop, customer service is more important than speed, and that's ok!
