We went to 4 different places trying to find a decently priced but still quality mattresses.
The Sleep Country saleswoman was trying to sell us something much more expensive than we were looking for and told us that ALL the stores we would look at would have prices just like this or we would be getting a very low quality mattress.
We checked out Kings, which seemed very promising. We were treated well, the salesmen (Damian and Luke) were funny and honest. We liked the prices, but decided to check Mattress Depot and Ikea, just in case.
When we asked about the removal of our current mattresses, the guy at Mattress Depot suggested that if we lived in an apartment building, we could just just take them out to the dumpster. Um, that's illegal. Their mattresses and prices sucked.
Ikea's mattresses weren't that great. For the same price that we would pay at Kings we would be getting mattresses that were obviously less comfortable and lower quality (even if they do have a 25 year warranty- who wants to have a mattress that long anyway?).
We ended up back at Kings. It was easy, no hassle, and they had the mattresses delivered the next day. Our old sets were picked for with a nominal fee.
You can do all the comparison shopping you would like, but if you're on a budget but still want something really nice, go to Kings. Admittedly, they were having a great sale (my mother saved $400 on her set), but I guarantee that you'll leave happy.
Pros: Large warehouse, plenty of parking, no-pressure sales, grea deals!
Cons: NONE
