Warm, caring community school  5 Star Rating - World class

JDS is a nurturing, caring environment. A school where children also learn the importance of contributing in a positive way to society and the world around us. Children from different grades work together on projects. It's a unique school.

JDS: a great education and a caring community  5 Star Rating - World class

My family has been at JDS for over six years. The faculty and staff are committed to providing a top-notch education in a caring environment, and we are delighted with the quality of education our two children receive in both Jewish and General Studies. Not only do our children learn the three R's but they are also becoming ethical and knowledgeable Jews.

We LOVE this school!  5 Star Rating - World class

I have two boys, one in 8th grade and his last year at JDS, and the other in 4th grade. We LOVE this school! My kids have received a world class education, have a warm and nurturing environment to learn in, and are part of a wonderful community! JDS was there for our family when I was diagnosed with breast cancer and when my husband suffered a heart attack. The parents, students and staff were wonderful. Making meals, sending good wishes, and taking extra special care of our kids! My 8th grader just had his Bar Mitzvah and without the excellence in education that JDS promises, he would not have achieved what he did that day. JDS has given our kids the foundation for what they need in life. We are thrilled to have our kids at JDS, it is a home away from home!

PROS: excellence in education, warm, loving teachers and staff, beshert

Excellent, inclusive community; nice mix of Judaic + General  4 Star Rating - Very good

My son spent K-8th, graduated last year; of his class of 32, 29 were together since grade K; a great "family" atmosphere.
My daugher is in 7th grade currently. Overall very good teachers. Some flux in leadership in the past few years, but the parents and board have done a tremendous job maintaining a culture of excellence and optimism. Terrific new head of school.

Best Gift You Can Give Your Children (besides being a great parent)  5 Star Rating - World class

Sending our 3 kids to JDS (two graduates, one incoming) is one of the best gifts they got from us. Our children received an outstanding education that competes in quality with any private school, while learning Jewish values, tradition and history. The JDS community is caring and you and your kids become part of the JDS family far beyond gradation night.

PROS: Outstanding private education at a great value!

Wonderful!  5 Star Rating - World class

This is the 8th consecutive year I've had my children in this school and it is wonderful! Both the General and Judaic studies curriculum are very strong and we feel our children are receiving an excellent education. Add this to small class sizes, highly qualified and caring teachers and a great feeling of community - this is a terrific environment for them.

Lacking...  2 Star Rating - Wouldn't recommend

This school calls itself Jewish, but after being there three years, I felt nothing but disappointment. First of all some of the meanest people I have ever met teach there and the past head of school and the current one are not Jewish. Lots of politics going on here. It is all about money, not about caring, nurturing or educating about children! Families keep leaving the school, gee I wonder why?
