We went on Cinco de Mayo ready to have a good time. We've eaten there before and had a good experience. This day, after a half hour, we had to flag down a waiter to take our drink & food order. After another half hour I spoke with the Hostess about being seated for an hour without being served. She was dismissive.

The manager finally came by and brought us food- just not what we ordered. He did try to make good with a $20 gift certificate, but too little too late. Only try this if you have the time and paitence. We didn't, we missed out on our plans for the rest of the night.

We never figured it would take 2 1/2 hours at a mexican restaurant. 30 min waiting to be seated- 30 mins at table to order- 45 mins waiting for food- 15 mins for some of us to eat- 20 mins waiting for check & the correct food order to go.

I do not recommend this restaurant to anyone, starting with the salsa, so artificial, the beans are overcook and the rice tasteless; the dishes are also like frozen food you can find in the grocery store. Obviously the people that like it have not tried real Mexican food!
It is a shame they used the "Mexican food" type for their so processed and tasteless dishes!!!

We got to this restaurant right before closing time and we were treated that way. We probably should have gone elsewhere, but did not want to drive all the way into Spokane to get something to eat. It was a good meal and their service was pretty timely, but I have definitely had better Mexican food at other restaurants. Overall, I took the place in stride, but it was not overly clean, nor overly friendly. I don't know that I would return again unless I was in a similar situation. It would be a good place to go for a drink after you play the executive nine hole golf course that is attached.Due to the fact it is on a golf course, you can expect to see golfers walking through.

I have dined at Palenque twice now (having just moved to this area two weeks ago) and completely enjoyed my meal each time! The salsa with the chips wasn't my favorite, so we ordered a side of Pico de Gallo and it was fresh and delicious. Our waiter was friendly and accomodating. My friend had the Carne Asada and I had enchiladas. On my previous visit, I tried the tacos. My in-laws are Mexican, so I believe I do know good Mexican food and Palenque serves GREAT Mexican food, as well as a very tasty margarita! Give them a try! I don't think you'll be disappointed!

Pros: beautiful view from the patio!

This Restaurant should be ashamed to call itself a Mexican Restaurant and I can hardly believe that it is located in Liberty lake on the Golf course None the less. Most of their food tastes "pre-cooked" and/ or very generic. There is not that Authentic Mexican flavor you would get from Say a genuine Taqueria or Azteca Restaurant. The food is ALWAYS cold and the rice is over cooked almost everytime I go there. Their chicked tastes like it is canned and the salsa store bought. The ground beef in the tacos is greasy and has absolutely no flavor. I dont know where in San Diego you go for Mexican food, but if you think this is authentic and tastey then you probably think Digiorno frozan Pizza and/ tv dinner spaghetti is authentic Italian. I cook and eat Authentic Mexican food ALOT from some really good restaurants in Spokane and compare this one to the bottom of the barrel, I would rather eat at Taco time!

We were very dissapointed in this restaurant. While the prices were good, the food was awful. I had the fajitas and my wife had a burritto; neither of which had any taste what so ever. It was really strange because when I didn't care for mine, I sampled my wifes ... her burritto tasted the exact same as my fajitas ... like nothing at all! The salsa tasted like diced tomatos with very little cilantro in it.

We were really excited for this restaurant as we had heard great things. Unfortunately we were let down. The only thing this restaurant has going for it is its veiw of the golf course and the mountains.

If you are looking for good mexican food, I would try Azteca before Palenque.

Pros: Wonderful scenery

Cons: Terrible food.

The food at Palenque is excellent. Other than my pet pieve, pre-formed, pre-made taco shells (you know, the kind you get at Taco Bell), the food is great. We like to go on Sunday after church, as the $1.99 kids meal menu is wonderful and filling, even for my 12 year old (only 1 more year on the kids menu). The service is great and the view of the Trail Head Golf Course is wonderful. Oh, and the Tamales seem kind of like they're not made fresh on site... just my speculation. Being from San Diego, I'm kind of a Mexican food "snob". This is one of the best in the inland northwest.
