Paule Attar Hair Salon & Spa

I have been going to Paule Attar for several years and have always had very professional service. I've had facials, pedicures, massages and hair services.

For the past several months, I have been going to "Anna" for hair services (color and styling) and she is great! She is very professional and does everything to make sure you are happy when you leave the salon. She is a terrific stylist and works wonders with my hair. I often get asked "who does your hair" and I always tell them "Anna at Paule Attar Salon in Bellevue".

I have been going to the spa for several years now. Their pedicures are the best in the city. They have a anti-stress moor mud back treatment that is to die for. I swear I walk away feeling like I have a new back. The staff is always super sweet. My girlfriend and I go ever year for our b-days and get the Simple Pleasure package.

My hair is wild, rebellious and stubborn. From the most posh salons in Manhattan to small boutique one-person operations in Milan, I have tried stylists all over the world. For many years I have been in search of a stylist who could tame my unruly locks, but until recently, no one has succeeded. Finally I have found an absolute genius of hair. Paule Attar not only created a wonderful hair style for me but gave me thorough instruction on how to take care of it so it would look good every day and not just on those rare days when I have just emerged from the salon. Under her care and direction I have learned more about my hair than I have ever known before. For me, she has done what no one else could do. Paule Attar is the ultimate expert on hair!

After a stress-filled week, I was looking forward to getting a massage at Paule Attars salon and day spa, which was, located a few blocks from my office in downtown Bellevue. After arriving behind schedule, I was quickly ushered through the hair salon area into the area where the massages and other body treatments are performed. It was a major change to go from the bustling front area into the hushed spa treatment area. Decorated in earth colors, there were several individual rooms, as well as a central fountain and a relaxing lounge room to loll in before or after treatments.

My massage room had low lighting, quiet classical music and, best of all, a wonderful heated massage table. .My massage therapist was as relaxing as the environment. After finding out my specific needs and problems areas, she was very effective in calmly and efficiently releasing the areas of greatest tension in my back, shoulders and forearms. She used a great-smelling aromatherapy massage oil. One innovative feature I really liked was the regular application of hot towels which both removed the excess oil and provided further relaxation.

At $66, I found the full hour-long massage amazingly affordable for such upscale surroundings. My massage provided me a true spa break in a relaxing oasis in the midst of bustling downtown Bellevue.

Swanky Swedish!

I visited Paul Attar for the first time and had an incredibly relaxing massage experience. The massage itself was great and Nicky, my masseuse, was warm and professional (she came out to the waiting area to introduce herself and lead me into the spa area), but I was just as impressed by the overall ambience and attention to detail as with the massage itself. The front salon section is clean and busy, and staff members were friendly and professional. The dark, quiet spa area in the back is like entering a totally different world where hair clippers and voices above a whisper are not allowed. There is huge, beautiful fountain in the first room and the dim, peaceful interior is decorated in eastern accents. The massage experience was greatAfter I told Nicky that I was taking a ski conditioning class, she immediately suggested focusing on my legs and ended up doing a really great job massaging and stretching those muscle sets. Every once in a while she asked me how I was doing but never pressured me to talk. I especially appreciated the unique knee stretches and warm foot mat at the end. My favorite part: the hot eucalyptus-scented wash cloths! Professional, down-to-business salon meets serene, relaxing and attentive day spa!

I too have been to the salon a number of times. I have found it be a great place for either spa services or salon services. The hair stylist and color techs from the top of the seniority level to the bottom are great at listening to what the client is looking for and does everything within their human abilities to get anyone to their end result. Same goes for the spa,( and by the way, the hour long massage appt is actually 1 hr. and 15 minutes to allow for the appropriate amount of time for a room change and still give client the full hour massage. If you are late for your appt. however, you will have a shorter massage as to not interupt another clients appt),and I have no complaints about the service given by the employees. It is an extremely busy salon with a smaller staff, and they do an amazing job of catering to each and every individuals wants and desires to the best of their ability in an often chaotic atmosphere. I would recommend them to anyone.

PROS: Good service, great menu and delivery.
CONS: Only one location.

I was seeing one of their long term colorists, and had her do my hair cut and color a few days before my wedding. $250 later, I couldn't tell what had been done to my hair. Honestly, no one in my family could tell the color had changed even a little. Also, the stylist took a break in the midst of my appointment and obviously didn't wash her hands after (strong smell). The next visit I had was to take my mother and I to get massages. My 60 minute appointment was 45 minutes (they said they needed time to change the sheets for the next customer). My mother and I were to be done at the same time. She wasn't in the waiting room, so I asked for her whereabouts and was told she was still getting her spa services. I checked again about 10 times over the next ONE AND A HALF hours, and was told the same thing over and over- that she was still getting a spa procedure. When my mother finally walks out, I am absolutely annoyed that I had waited so long, and that we were now going to miss our dinner reservations in Seattle. I asked her WHAT IN THE WORLD she was doing for that length of time. It just so happens there was a second waiting room, and she was annoyed and waiting for me. She asked about me and was told... I was in the other room getting a spa service. I got a $25 gift card for my troubles, but I am not sure whether or not I want to go back to spend it!!

PROS: great location
CONS: service, service, service

I've been going to this salon regularly for 2 years now, for manicures, pedicures, haircuts, massage, and waxing. They are a full-service salon and spa, with prices routinely $5-10 less than Gene Juarez for comparable (and more personal) service. The spa area is quiet and soothing, and I've never had bad service here. There is ample parking, despite its location in downtown Bellevue.

PROS: great prices, full service
CONS: not open on Sundays
