Lowe's

I have had a number of products installed by Lowe's contractors. Excellent work and great Customer Service. I highly recommend Lynnwood Lowe's to anyone.

Living nearby, I always have to ask myself why I ever return to shop at this store. If you can find one, the employees here can't ever answer product specific questions. For example, on a recent trip, I asked a flooring associate if they had a portland-cement based mortar instead of the common latex-fortified, and the woman didn't know what I was talking about. The managers here are mostly combative and love to tell me they're sorry that they don't have an item, can't accomodate a simple request, or ignore suggestions about how they could make a customer's experience more friendly. Additionally, it seems every time I go here they have a shelf that's 2-3 feet deep, enough to fit cases of product, and when I reach into the box of fittings or product that is behind the label, I pull out a handful of the wrong items with none of the correct product on site. Avoid this store like the plague, I have better luck at the Mill Creek and Monroe locations or McLendon's in Woodinville.

Here's a letter I wrote to Lowe's headquarters:

This is about your store in Lynnwood, Washington state.

I just got home from shopping there and I'm still angry.

I tried to buy two sheets of sheetrock. When I got to the register at 10:25, there were two customers ahead of me and only one checker. Before I could get to the checker. 5 more customers cut in front of me. I pressed the "Help" button. The person who responded was TOTALLY disinterested. All he would do is cancel the call button and go away.

I could not get load-out help, either. I finally took my sheetrock all the way through the store, got checked out at the front registers, where I commented about the lack of help and again got blown off.

Then, I had to push my cart all the way around the store to the contractor's entrance, where I had parked and try to load two 4X8 sheets of 1/2" wallboard into my truck without help.

In the meantime, there were at least 5 other customers loading everything from lumber to concrete blocks without a single Lowe's employee in sight.

It's enough to drive me to Home Depot.

Staff wandering slowly through the store, unhelpful and not particularly interested in helping. But the worst part is with all these workers milling around with their Lowe's vests on I always have to wait in a long line. Always. Go to Home Depot on aurora, even if you are in Lynnwood - self checkout is fast and staff really are knowledgable and helpful. Bad management at this lowes.
