CPK: yummy eats, poor service
by jennifer m.
CPK has yummy pizza & yummy pasta with a nice twist on both. The problem with this location is that in the last 3 out 4 visits the dine in service is so unsatisfactory. Slow (even when the place is not busy). The server doesnt check on you after your order is served so your water or beverage doesnt get refilled unless you seek out the server. My last visit, I came in for a working lunch meeting. My colleague & I both ordered pasta. It wasnt until the end of our meal did I realize, we were not even served bread for the pasta. Who forgets to serve bread with pasta? Yes I know we didnt think of it, but isnt that what the dine service is for? To take care of the customers? Like I said the food is yummy but it is pricey for what it is. There are so many eateries in Seattle that have equally creative meals with smarter prices and exceptional service. My family and I enjoy going out to eat and treat ourselves often to a night out. So do our friends. Im afraid CPK has lost me because of service. If for some reason I happen to find an occasion to visit again (my work people like to CPK) I'll be sure to speak up about the poor service. Maybe CPK should consider having a manager check in with their dining customers?

OK, so every once in a while, I call in for a pepperoni pie from them and pick it up. It is invariably yummy. Different from a NY slice, but still very good.
Their pies are just the right size for one. This is a place that has weird pies like Thai Chicken or BarBQ chicken, if you like that. I dont, really.
Eating in, service is fine. Price is a touch high but not outlandish (though drinks will kill you!). Ambiance is loud and fun, bustling is really a good word for it.
Overall, I recommend it.

"California" Pizza Kitchen in Seattle, Washington? Uh, okay, I thought to myself as I walked through the doors. Could Seattle possibly capture the essence of "California Pizza Kitchen?" I figured California knows a little bit about coffee (i.e. Starbucks), so I give Seattle a shot. First off, Seattle's California Pizza Kitchen offered it's trademark variety of diverse pizza toppings, tasty salads, and delicious pasta entrees. Second, the service was friendly, informative, timely, well mannered, and hey, real people no actors! Third, Seattle's version of California Pizza Kitchen was clean, had good lighting, and comfortable booths. So far, so good. But what about the prices? Not so bad actually. I mean, 10 dollars for a 6 slice pizza? I suppose that's fair considering I had a choice of barbecue chicken, classic pepperoni, peking duck (i don't think so), and BLT. WOW! But I need not say more, see for yourself at the California Pizza Kitchen, Seattle style!
