Definitely a good alternative to the large line at the 5 spot. Better than a greasy spoon, and quite a few selections. The shakes and omelettes(an odd combo I know) are excellent.

Best basic breakfast in Seattle. Hands down.
Incredible omelets, benedicts, FRESH-SQUEEZED OJ, friendly and attentive staff, cozy atmosphere - exactly what I want for breakfast! Unlike the rival 5 spot, the there's no pretentious

If you can manage to make it here earlier than the rest of the crowd, you shouldn't have much of a wait. The reason why there is such a long wait is clear... great food and service. Check it out for breakfast.

Pros: omelets, corned beef hash, great service

Cons: long wait on the weekends

You could get a better breakfast at Denny's for half the price. Seriously !

Overpriced and rude service are the norm here. The only reason they are in business is the location. That is it folks !

The food at Queen Anne Cafe is good. It isn't earth shattering, it was pleasant and left me satisfied. I love that each booth has it's own coat hook, very cute. But what really got me were their lattes, DELICIOUS. Please forgo Starbucks, head over to Queen Anne Cafe and sit at the bar for a latte. It's worth the extra few feet, yum!

my first experience here was not what i expected. the staff was rude, including the older male employee who appeared to be a staff manager. i felt "rushed" to order with the server and "rushed" to pay up as the hostile milieu of the lobby filled with waiting customers. overall, the food was enjoyable but the sequence and presentation of service was horrible.

Sounds like they need to change their staff, but they do still have the breakfast in town. I love the eggs benedict. We have been going to QAC for many years and still love it. It is good basic breakfast that leaves you full and satisfied.

My family came here for a Sunday breakfast and our waitress (an older lady w/ brown hair) was so horribly rough and rude that we actually walked out. We did not feel welcome AT ALL. And that's too bad because it's in a great location.

The waitress (i think her name was Patti) was so very rude! The food was OK but this woman should not curse around my children! The kitchen screams cursing too! There seemed to be conflict all around us while we were trying to enjoy our breakfast. On my way out I tried to speak to a man who claimed to be the owner. He was rude as well and had no interest in what I was talking about..

no way will I recommend this place to anyone.

My dad and I were trying to find that 5 Spot Cafe last Friday and couldn't but we did came across this Queen Anne Cafe next to Paragon and figured we'd give it a shot. I got a House Omelette (bacon, mushrooms etc) and it was perfect...as were the hashbrowns, english muffin, and the orange juice...oh my god was it good. It may very well have been just extra pulpy, from-a-carton, but it sure as hell tasted like fresh squeezed...I guess I never asked. Anyhow, my dad and I had a great time, our server, Penny, was absolutely amazing (in more ways than one)...everyone including her was very friendly and the food just couldn't be beat. Highly recommended and you better believe I'll be back again soon. : )

I have always liked going to this restaraunt. The owner takes great pride in his business. All his employees try and follow his example. The food there is excelent and for a great price. I will always continue to go there.

It's puzzling to me how a restaurant with such wonderful breakfasts can serve such awful dinners. The uninspired dinner we had the other night makes me question whether I'll be back for breakfast, even.

Pros: Close to other dining

Cons: , Boring food

My breakfast was decent. Restaurant is a cross b/w a diner/art house. The social atmosphere is suitable to bring a friend. The prices are a bit on the high side for breakfast. It is generally full of yuppies with cell phones. Service was good though, contrary to an early review.

For years this was my favorite breakfast spot to take clients and my family. This past Sunday I was shocked at how I was treated. It was crowded so my and my wife had our names on the list. She had to make an emergency phone call so ran across to Safeway. Our names were called and I went in. I was told because I was by myself that I was only one person. I tried to explain and point that she would be back in a second but was rudely dismissed and the next name on the list was called. No explanation, no apologies. And this was from the OWNER. NEVER again will I eat at that Cafe nor will I bring clients. By the way, we ended up going to the Firefly across the street and had EXCELLENT customer service and good grub to boot!

I used to think this was a pretty reliable place for a decent breakfast. After my last two trips there I won't be back. Last time the cheese in my omelet wasn't melted and the eggs were cold. Today my "seasonal fruit plate" consisted of a cut-up navel orange and a few of the canteloupe slices they use as GARNISH on the other plates. About $.99 worth of food for $5. And when I complained to the waitress and then the manager, and neither one offered to take the plate off the tab, that was the last straw.

The breakfasts are usually very good and the service is also good. There are plenty of choices on the menu and the atmosphere is friendly and inviting. The prices are slighlty high for breakfast but this place stays on my list of places to return to.

good, standard breakfasts and i've never had to wait too long. the service is usually pretty good. lunches are good, if unoriginal. if you want a yummy burger and really really good fries, qa cafe is a good choice. their breakfast selection has expanded nicely - 4 or 5 eggs benedict options, etc. but it's a diner, you're not going to get superb food here. just good food at good prices.

I like to take a weekend breakfast here. Nothing flash just some eggs, bacon and toast. If you're hungry, in a rush and demanding a booth don't even bother crossing the threshold you will have to wait. I don't mind sitting at the bar so no problem there. Fresh fruit on the side as standard is a nice touch. No long wait times and waitresses are attentive to cup-coffees levels, again something welcome early in the day. One of the waiters likes to trade some soccer chat, like it. On the negative side it is expensive, no question there. Price I'm willing to pay for convenient location. And it can get very very busy.

I've had more than one mediocre meal at this expensive Queen Ann coffee shop and the only reason I've gone back from time to time is that it's conveniently located, it usually isn't terribly busy and it's hard to totally ruin eggs if they're scrambled. I learned on this Sunday afternoon that the way to ruin eggs is by being rude to customers. I discretely mentioned to the hostess, (who turned out to be the manager and who happened to be the one who had the rough manner), that I felt uncomfortable from the comments that she made, she suggested that I might want to just leave. I am originally from the East coast and have traveled the world and I have never experienced any thing close to this horrible service. I want to feel welcome when I spend my hard earned money. Go to Denny's !

Well, this place never fails to disappoint so I quit going. The final straw: I asked for scrambled egg whites and the kitchen refused to go though the INCREDIBLE difficulty of separating the yolks out. They flat out refused to do it. Add to that the generally clueless, I'm-a-gum-popping-college-girl- and-this-is-my-part-time-job level of service and previous culinary disappointments and it's just not worth navigating the double-wide strollers and paying $15 for food you could score at Denny's for $1.99.
