On a random night (a.k.a. "my birthday") my friends and I decided to kick up our proverbial heels to some Latin House music. Upon stepping into Madrid 522, I thought I'd died and gone to Mexico, Puerto Rico, El Salvador, or even Spain. The only people there who seemed to utilize the English language there were the blonde bartenders, as every patron in attendance insisted on speaking to me in Spanish. So there I stood dumbfounded by culture shock, searching for appropriate retorts in their mother language, which proved excruciating, leading to my retreat back to my gringo amigos. Still, we enjoyed our effective beverages and the jubilant dance grooves. The moral of the story is that if you speak Spanish, no problemo; youll feel right at home. If you dont speak the language or have trouble accepting the linguistic differences, I dont recommend this club.
