1 Stars: Video Only is Shady Practices - Beware, especially with backorders (by John W.)

I decided to purchase a DVD/VHS recorder and started to take the box up to the clerk at the Tukwila Video Only when they said it was an empty box. Hmmm. I had to pay to order it (should have been a warning sign that I had to pay in advance for an item "stocked" on the floor in empty boxes) and they would call when it was in. After 3 weeks I called and they had no idea as to the status so I went in to get my credit card refunded.

When they did finally print a refund receipt showing my entire credit card # and expiration (illegal for about 3 years now to do this) they hand wrote "allow 15 days to process" on the receipt. The receipt specifically stated that it was a "credit card refun(d)" and it was computer generated. Why wait an additional 15 days when they already had my money for 3 weeks and had never ever delivered any product to me... and now they wanted 15 days more. I discussed this with the district manager and he actually strongly defended this scam of a policy to keep client's money for non-delivery even when they dropped the ball. What a farce of customer service.

As an aside, I have since found the item for $20 less but have not purchased it because of the sour taste of this initial purchase attempt. So much for they sell for less.

If you are requested to pay for anything beware - you will spend weeks waiting for nothing and then get nothing but a hassle getting your money back.

It was also very interesting reading, in retrospect, of their 30 day refund policy on the receipt (store credit only if even open the box and/or even if it is defective). I read it thoroughly given the horrible experience. It is obvious they are totally sales focused but clearly no sense of customer service - indeed they engage in illegal efforts to keep (not refund) money to customers for a couple extra weeks for product Video Only never delivered.

4 Stars: Video Only (by Sandra B.)

Looking for a new tv at a very reasonable price? This is the place. Video Only has a great selection of television sets. They also have all types of cameras available. The sales staff is very helpful and friendly. If I am in the market for a new tv, this is where I will shop and would recommend Video Only. I always leave Video Only feeling like I was given a good deal.

Video only had the videos I needed to find. Sometimes you go to video stores and dont find anything, but I found a good selection. I learned some stuff about movies from the staff also.

PROS: prices
CONS:

4 Stars: Great products, reasonable prices, sales sharks (by Lisa M.)

Video only has several types of electronic equipment - televisions, stereos, alarm clocks, DVD players, etc. We puchased a wide screen television from them recently.
The only reason I didn't give them 5 stars is because their sales people are a bit on the used car salesman side. They immediatly cling to you as you walk in the door. However, if you are comfortable being straightforward and asking for some space they do respect that. They are also willing to work on their prices if you feel the asking price is too much. We got our television for the asking price but said we'd pay that much only to include delivery and tax (saving us about $400).

I recommend Video Only for your electronic needs, with two cautions - don't take the asking price at face value and also ask the salespeople for breathing room if you need it.

PROS: Quality merchandise, workable prices
CONS: Clingy sales people
