Children's Garden is an outstanding school. My daughter attended from the time she was 1yr old until she went to Kindergarten. My son attended from 4yrs old through Kindergarten. The only reason we moved my daughter before Kindergarten was to have them in the same school. I am not related to or personal friends with any of the staff or owners, though we did come to adore our teachers. The "robot" brain is specifically related to one of the multi-age pre-K rooms. Both of my children were in that room for 2 and 3 years, respectively. WE LOVED IT. The kids are NOT turned in to unthinking "robots," and that' insulting. The classes were very well behaved and very smart. Discipline was specifically a "speak to the child" resolution, and children are highly encouraged to work out their differences at a small table in the room, overseen by a teacher. Children learn at their own pace, and are rewarded with new challenges as they are ready for them. Teachers kept us in the know daily if requested. It is true that not all teachers handle discipline the same way??and we were quite upset with the way 2 of the teachers handled their room??one of which is management. But getting more involved was our solution, and it worked. I have never hesitated to refer friends to this school. My kids love learning, are well ahead of their peers, and are quite social. And we feel we owe a lot of it to Children's Garden Montessori.

The last reviewer works for this school and was probably paid to write that review. Don't believe what she wrote. This school is one to avoid at all cost unless you want your child to be forced to behave a certain way and become a good little sheep with a confused mind and a bad self-image. They use inconsistent and inappropriate discipline for behavior that is in most cases not a problem and should never be disciplined. If they see that a child shows leadership qualities they try to crush that child's spirit. They also try to restrict a child's ability to progress beyond the average abilities of their age group. If a child tries to excel they hold them back. Public school is better than this. I am posting this anonymously so this very bad school and it's owner and teachers can't cause any more harm to my child.

I would highly recommend this Montessori School for any parent who is concerned about having their child attend a loving, caring, and educational childcare program. Children are encouraged to pursue their own interests in the classroom and supported in those independant choices. My daughter loves her teachers and I can see she loves to go to school.
As to the other bad review listed, I can say from personally witnessing a child's misbehavior, that the "rule" is not to scream at the child who misbehaved, it is to talk with them about their behavior and how the choices they made led to time out, etc.
In conclusion, I couldn't be happier with the experiences we've had with this school and if we continue to live in this area, my daughter will attend Children's Garden through 2nd grade, which is the highest grade offered.

I wouldn't reccomend this school. The rule is that when kids misbehave, you scream at them instead of explain what they did was wrong, tell them why it's wrong, and find some constructive way of dealing with the problem. Not very helpful in the end.
