Cool  4 Star Rating - Very good

La Donna, in Chicago's Andersonville neighborhood, offers fresh, regional Italian food. Their pastas are handmade daily and entrees are flavorful and of the highest quality. The resaturant is quaint but tends toward the higher class, with an extensive wine list and some unusual flavor parings. Seating is comfortable, but the noise level can be loud on the weekends. With the addition of upstairs seating, the restaurant feels a bit more airy, and on summer nights when they open the large windows, the dining experience is wonderful.

purely seattle  5 Star Rating - World class

Pike place market is a great attraction that is purely Seattle. You can find great foods from all lover. No doubt you have seen the famous fish throwing at Pike place. There are many shops to browse and its a great day at the market. The prices are great also. If you want to take in the whole Seattle experience you cannot miss this destination.

As expected, a tourist trap  3 Star Rating - Satisfactory

The fish are flying and the world's first Starbucks is steaming its milk, and everywhere you look there are tourists. But native Seattle-ites shop at the market, especially for the spring produce. There's a great olive oil place with seasoned oils for dipping and downstairs in the less travelled bit there are all sorts of quirky places like the belt store where I found re-buckle-able belts.

A Seattle staple  4 Star Rating - Very good

Pikes Place Market is a great place to emerse yourself in the culture of Seattle. There aretons of vendors selling fresh fish or produce, as well as Seattle souvenirs. There are great local restaurants, as well as the first ever Starbucks, all in a small strip. I would highly recommend checking out the action, particularly in when the weather is nice. It's a great place to people watch, eat, and do a little shopping...all in easy proximity to the waterfront and downtown.

Tourist attraction  5 Star Rating - World class

Pike place market is like a flea market so to speak. Although most items are new, its a lot of little stands on the waterfront, including food, jewely, clothes all kinds of items. Alot of tourist items, but alot of locals like going even just for the view and then fresh air. Its a fun little day trip, parking isnt the best of course but this is Seattle we are talking about you will get that everywhere you go!

Pike Place Market  5 Star Rating - World class

Perhaps the most famous Seattle landmark after the Space Needle, this sprawling farmer's market and collection of eateries is a must-see on any trip to Seattle. Mostly open-air, the main hall is what seems like a mile-long row of fish, meat, produce, and trinket vendors. Don't miss the lower levels, which contain shops and restaurants.

I couldn't believe some of the flower arrangements; so gorgeous and SO EXTREMELY CHEAP. It's a must-see for every tourist and make sure you go and check out the flying fish! It's a great experience.

Well what can I say Pike Place Market is one of the best markets on the West Coast. This is where I go to get all of my seafood and fresh meat for cheap. They really specialize in everything want a bite to eat? they got it, Want to take in the view they got it, Fresh Fruits as well. This is a must place to go for anyone visiting the City of Seattle and the State of Washington.

where locals go  5 Star Rating - World class

The Pike Place Market is definitely a must go for tourists and locals. They always have the freshest seafood, flowers, restaurants, and unique stores. Locals love to go there, visit the market, do some window shopping, buy some flowers, and order some fresh seafood at one of the many restaurants. It's even crowded on rainy weekends.

A big part of Seattle  5 Star Rating - World class

Anyone that comes to Seattle, or lives here should visit the Pike Place Market. It's filled with bargins and unique merchandise and gifts, and neat places to grab a bite to eat. One of the best places to get your fresh seafood, The Fish Market is oozing with charm and energetic people who are eager to include you in the fun. Who knew buying fish was fun?!?! The Pike Place Market is also the best place to buy your fresh or dried flowers, they are beautiful and the prices are very reasonable. You'll find something for everyone.

PROS: fun, energetic market full of life
CONS: parking

Awesome  5 Star Rating - World class

I love the Pike Place Market. You can buy almost anything at the market. I buy my fresh fruit, seafood, vegetables and flowers here from local growers/farmers. The price is right and the quality is unbeatable. I can eat at one of the many little restaurants here. Get a haircut, go antique shopping and grocery shop all in one place. There is nothing like this place anywhere else.

Pike Market  4 Star Rating - Very good

This is one of the places that tourists visit when in Seattle. It is a lot of fun walking through to see what everyone is selling. Before you buy anything walk around, because you see the same exact product cheaper. Walk to thr Russian Bakery near by, there are such yummy things there. and also the first Starbucks ever! What a land mark. Buy some of the fruit logs at the market, they are cheap (like 3 for a dollar) but really unusual.

Pike Place Market  5 Star Rating - World class

Pike place is a great tourist place, and a place for the natives as well. I love the dried flowers that are sold, they are very pretty and cheap, and the place is just great to walk around and explore, there is always something new. Great for a day of shopping!

Pike Place Market  5 Star Rating - World class

The Market is a definite must-see for anyone visiting in Seattle but you'll also find it swarmed with locals. The produce and flowers are out of this world; it is the very best place to go in the summer for any kind of fruit and vegetable you can imagine. There are many restuarants tucked inside the enclosures, and all are delicious (expect long lines everywhere on the weekends, particularly around breakfast time). There's a fabulous bakery near the entrance where everyrthing looks--and tastes--beyond great. The world-famous fish flingers are there whenever the Market is open. Pike is also a place to go for handmade crafts. Most vendors don't take anything other than cash (although this is slowly changing), parking is a challenge, and it's always crowded, but it's a place you should definitely visit anyway.

Memorable birthday meal with excellent service 4 Star Rating - Very good

I have heard of Chez Shea for some time and was waiting for a special occasion to try it. Four of us went there for my birthday and tried the chef's tasting menu. We thought the food was well prepared and it was fun to try 8 different things. We were totally stuffed by the 5th dish and had a wonderful time. Our server was so kind and the place was not pretentious at all. Overall, it was expensvie about $500 for 4 people but worth the money and experience.

One of the best! 5 Star Rating - World class

I'll start off by saying outright that Chez Shea was simply fantastic!

* Outstanding service (our waitress gave us plenty of time to decide on dinner choices, and was alert enough to realize that when we started eating our bread we were probably hungry enough to order dinner - a really nice touch!).

* Amazing food (I highly reccommend the beef tenderloin - it's so tender, it cuts like butter...a great piece of meat!)

* Incredible ambience (great shades of red, candlelight, and a quiet, intimate atmosphere).

I have found one of my favorite restaurants in the city. I'm looking forward to the summer menu!

Pros: Great service, amazing food
Cons: None I can think of - a truly great experience

best beef tartar 5 Star Rating - World class

My partner and I like to eat out a lot, and this was one of the nicest places we've been to in quite some time. The service, food, and atmosphere were excellent. We weren't kept waiting at any point in the meal. They didn't make a show of themselves when they came to the table, but they weren't impersonal either. I prefer a waitperson who fills your water or brings you a napkin, and you never noticed it happened. First I had the amberjack ceviche,...wow. It was mouthwatering. The textures were nice too. Second was the Kobe Style Beef Tartar. It's the best I've ever had, and was surprised at the sensual nature of such a dish! A lot of restaurants in Seattle serve something they call a beef tartar, that's basically unseasoned raw ground beef. There is little or no effort put into the dish. Don't miss the tartar at Chez Shea! For the entre I felt like I didn't have enough beef yet, so I ordered the Kobe Beef Tenderloin with Hedge Hog & Black Trumpet Mushrooms, White Truffle Mashed Potatoes & Demi Glace. If they'd thrown a wedding dress on the tenderloin I would have fallen in love it was so perfect. When the waitress asked me how I like my steak done I was shy about asking for it to be between rare, and medium rare, which she noticed and said she also liked hers to be cooked to that in between place too. My partner loved her blacked cod. For dessert I had the Meyer Lemon Pavlova. I find many lemon desserts too sour and make my cheeks hurt like I'd been blowing up balloons. Not so in this case. My partner would describe the decor as 'french dive bar meets seattle'. I noticed that they were able to achive romantic lighting without it being too dark. You could see your meal and the other patrons. I can't wait to go back!

I have been to Chez Shea 4-5 times now and I have gotten excellent service and wonderful seasonal food cooked to perfection each time. I do admit their wine selection is a bit expensive but it is so worth the atmosphere, the experience, and the delicious food. Keep up the good work guys!! I am looking forward to my next time!

Pros: Atmosphere, Excellent Service, Delicious Food
