Dust galore

ok, this place definitely holds alot of vintage clothing, however, the clouds of dust is too overwhelming. A friend and I spent a few minutes in there and both of us immediately felt allergies coming on. It made it very difficult to have fun going through all the vintage clothing.

Red Light Clothing Exchange carries good used clothes, definitely higher quality than at a run-of-the-mill thrift shop.
Their specialty is definitely vintage clothes, so if that's what you're looking for, this is the place to come.
Their prices are sometimes higher than I expect to find for used clothes, but probably worth it if you find something you're really looking for.

Red Light is located right on the corner of the street and has a big window storefront with the store name in neon lights. I have not really bought much if anything from this store before but its fun to browse and try stuff on. They do buy clothes from people but they are very picky about what kind of clothes they are willing to buy. They have a blackboard behind the cashiers counter where they list the type of clothes they would buy.

This is the store for those who like funky. Serious retro funky. Don't come in here with a bunch of regular clothes to sell, because they don't care about name brands, they care about funky clothes. My friends and I have tried to bring in our clothes, but they were not interested in the normal clothes. Took them to Buffalo Exchange instead (down the street). This store is kind of dark, and maybe purposely. The feeling is hippie, eerie. I didn't really like this store. If you're looking for Halloween costumes, come here.
PROS: Weird, funky, strange clothes, and accessories.
CONS: Dark inside, and not bright and cheery.

If you're looking for vintage or costumes (one and the same) look no further. Red Light has all kinds of vintage clothes, shoes, and costumes.
I bought a crazy lion outfit here for Halloween once...and that was that. I didn't see any clothes that I'd wear on a regular day...unless I was a nurse, policeman, or dominatrix.

We loved this store. The location in Capitol Hill is very large. The upstairs has lots of casual T-shirts, jeans, shoes, etc. Some are stylish, some just retro. Downstairs they have lots of costumes and accessories, almost anything you want. Lots of crazy, busy decorations everywhere. Fun Store.
PROS: You will find something you like.
CONS: A bit pricey for used clothing!!

If you want to trade in some clothes you don't like,
this is the place. Near the University of Washington,
you can usually find some interesting but great
clothing to exchange or just buy outright.

The Redight has 2 locations: one in the trendy Captial Hill area and the other in the college oriented University District. At both stores you can find a great selection of used vintage clothing. Ranging anywhere from 20's flapper girl to 80's Madonna your sure to find something to suit your taste. There's also a limited selection of hip modern clothing. My only complaint is that it can be a bit pricey. I've seen 2nd-hand t-shirts priced at $30. Check out the website.www.redlightvintage.com
