5 Stars: Good food, nice service (by aarthiasdad)

We went here for a date and had a nice romantic evening. The karaoke was beginning a bit late and we are early diners. We were served well and promptly, had a nice dinner. Their tiramisu is one of the best I have had.. Highly recommended!

3 Stars: Good Unique Food (by gohuskypup)

The only reason Im revuing this restaurant is that I found it on CitySearch; and the revus on this restaurant made me want to try it ... so here goes ...

My wife and I were celebrating our anniversary; we thot about going to the new El Gauchos in Bellevue, but when we saw the menu prices ... holy sh_t ... I dont think so ... can you say 'poor economy'...

Anyway we rate 'Amore' restaurant: above average, very good food, but the atmosphere is questionable ... we went kinda late, about 9p, after a movie; our table was rite by the hallway to the bathroom, and there was a constant smell of paint thinner in the air coming from the hallway; so if you go, ask not to sit by the hallway ...

We started by ordering some wine and the Portabello mushrooms for appetizer, excellent ...

For dinner, my wife ordered the oyster stew, but they were out of it ... which was a little annoying, that they didnt tell us until we ordered it ... she also order Wild Salmon n Rock Shrimp Pasta ... very good n tasty pesto ... the only thing was it was not hot enuf (temp) ...

I ordered the Wild Mushroom Ravioli ... also very good ... luvd the the Port Wine Sauce n mushrooms on top of the ravioli ... and again, it was not hot enuf ... dont get me wrong the food was still very good ... I just wondered why, cuz the whole restaurant was not that busy ...

As a cook myself, keeping food hot and serving it hot is an issue when it comes to serving a lot people ... the servers should serve the food rite as it is finished cooking, especially when it is pasta ... otherwise I would have givin 'Amore' a 4-star instead of 3 ...

5 Stars: Great place for an office party (by lululouise)

A group of us just finished hosting a retirement party (happy hour) for a colleage and everyone had a great time. Sean and his staff, particularly, Robert and Luke were great! We arranged for appetizers, which were delicious- calamari, cheese, fruit, shrimp and brushetta. You should check them out next time you need to host a party.

2 Stars: Just OK (by mnakasu)

Yeah, the ambiance is a tad cheesy. Well check the website out, it is also cheesy. I went to Cafe Amore on 04/22/09. The food-it's OK. I could taste the alcohol still in my alfredo sauce. My friend had the salad with duck breast. She really enjoyed it. I mainly picked this place because it's on the Passport Card. When payment time came, I placed my credit card and Passport Card out. The waitress came back and asked how I wanted the payment split. I had to explain to her that one card is an actual credit card and the other is a Passport Unlimited Card. She left and came back a few minutes later and said they do not accept the Passport for lunch. I was pretty sure they did, but did not want to make a scene in front of my friend. When I returned to the office, I logged onto the Passport website, sure enough it shows that they do accept the Passport for lunch. I immediately called the restaurant and asked to speak with Sean, the manager and owner. I left a message with a server and have yet to hear back from Sean. I also tried to email him from two different email accounts and both times the email was undeliverable.

I just loved the live jazz / blues music and the food was out of this world (prices are great too). But I really think will keep me coming back is the friendly service and fun atmosphere! It was the best. I have found my new late night spot.

2 Stars: Overpriced romantic restaurant in Belltown (by pilot12)

After reading the good reviews I wanted to take my wife to a nice restaurant in Belltown. Unfortunately, we chose Amore Restaurant and were quite disappointed for the most part. The service was very good and the waitress was attentive so no problems there. The highlight of our meal were the salads. Entrees were served luke-warm and were definitely not worth the price.

Definitely will not be returning.

5 Stars: INCREDIBLE FOOD (by 72056)

My husband and I had the pleasure to dine at Amore last Saturday night. The food was fabulous. Way out there above the norm. Chef Sean is a Seattle treasure. What a wonderful guy. I admire him for all the charity work he does in addition to his fabulous cooking. His personal story should be written up in a book. He prepared a special tray of orderves to start our meal which was heavenly. I had the special fish dish and my husband had the Lasagna. Both were a culinary delight, as well as exquisitely prepared and presented. I felt like I was dining at one of the most expensive places in town based on the food and service, but I was pleasently surprized to find the bill was very modest indeed. A great pleace for a special night out.

5 Stars: Original & Creative Cabaret & Dining (by MisterTheatreCritic)

The moment i set foot in the door, i was greeted. I had heard about this Hazy Nights Burlesque show and wanted to come and "Check it out" and so i did. not only did i find the show FIRST RATE, but the performances were spectacular. from everything from a Dancing Alligator named FERNANDO to Burlesque divas, to the Host making fun of his own life. That is NOT an easy thing to do onstage. He caused me to Laugh, Cry (with his Beautiful Rendition of "Bring Him Home" from Les Miserables) it was truly a night to remember. The Food was DELICIOUS! Service Excellent. What more could I ask for? Cocktails were superb. the show itself is a Great Evening of FUN!!! I hope you will go and expereince it as i did. The show apparently happens every Saturday night at 9pm. So if you get the chance.. Go get hazy with Hazy Nights! its a HOOT!!

1 Stars: bad food bad tude good drinks (by seattlerestaurantlover)

i went to this restaurant on a date at the recommendation of a friend. my experience was so foul that i am even now considering the merit of that friendship. to begin, the service was atrocious: our waiter barely spoke english, and the waiter from the table beside ours wouldn't leave us alone to eat our meal. the first 3 things we selected off of the menu were not available (for a saturday night, you would think they would offer full fare), when we got our food hers was cold and mine was pasty and tough.. and the portions were pathetic. about 3/4 through the meal, our waiter had vanished. you could hear someone yelling and cussing at someone else (perhaps our missing waiter?) above the music (i assume it was a manager or owner because they were screaming about "MY F@$%^&* RESTAURANT") the restaurant was relatively dead, so it was quite clear. we left without finishing our meal, and without leaving a tip, just in time to see a couple of drag queens begin some sort of show in the other room.

i DID have a very tasty grapefruit-infused cosmopolitan though, but even it was not enough to wash the foul taste this joke of an intimate experience left, out of my mouth.

5 Stars: Best service we have had in a long time. (by FMellon)

We have been to alot of Italian restaurants and by far this is one of my favorites. When we arrived we were greeted promptly. Our dinner included appetizer, salad, and (of course) The Main Course. Everything had perfect flavor. Now as for our sever he was the best. Not once did we have to ask for a refill, actually if I remember correctly we didn't have to ask him for anything because he had done everything taken care of automatically. We have seen the servers who are over the top nice (annoying) and servers who just don't care (rude and I wouldn't go back). Well Valentino was just right so if you have the opportunity ask for Valentino you wont be sorry. :) Ok enough about the service back to the food, we had the spinich dip appetizer it was very good as well as the salad very fresh, and for dinner I had the Chicken Alfredo..........SO good the chicken almost melted in my mouth. Just the right amount of sauce and amazing flavor.
All in all we will be back. I have already recomended this restaurant to quite a few people!!!

5 Stars: warm, welcoming and wonderful (by twinkL)

Amore restaurant, located under the tracks at 5th and Bell is what neighborhood dining is all about. The monorail should just stop here. i've dined here for 4 years and EVERY TIME i've had a tasty and satisfying experience. The atmosphere is warm, the staff welcoming, the food wonderful, served hot and with attention to detail. And the cocktails! Fogettaboudit. New drinks and $3 dollar happy hour specials are created regularly by master mixologist Ernie. Happy hour is 4-7 and 10-12 daily. The large menu includes $2 sliders WITH grilled onions, gorgonzola and sausage. Mmmmm Mmmmmmm. Cascade's sliders are put to shame. Spaghetti westerns on Friday night. Cabaret on Saturday. Comedy on Tuesdays. Live Duets on Sunday. Chef/owner Sean Langan is ever present in the house and personally reaches out with care and concern for his community. His selfless generosity recently provided Thanksgiving dinner to 500 local homeless and hungry people. DO NOT DELAY! Love is present in every way. Now that's AMORE!

1 Stars: this place is going down the drain (by lookigforruniseattle)

TOO BAD! I used to go to amore when they were by the glass studio and the food was ok. now it is overpriced and of very bad quality.I was served a chicken fettuccine that had chicken in it that tasted like is was boiled. it was stringy and bland. the sauce was too spicy and the noodles were overcooked. my girlfriend had a pizza that looked and tasted like a pizza right oput of the box in the freezer. we paid the too-high bill and left never to return. when we tried to complain the chef was patronizing and smiling like a fool as if we didn't know how we liked our food, booo.

5 Stars: Fall in Love you fools, Don't be bitter! This is the place where hearts belong! (by firebox)

I love this place! I am tired of selfish fools with cold hearts trying to get there pain out in negative reviews of this fine establishment. For the last two years, I have watched this Cafe' grow and produce such an amazing environment for lovers to come together and the lonely heart to find a place to belong. The Staff takes you in from the moment you enter the door and paints you amongst the brilliant clouds that decorate the heavens above you. If you find yourself disappointed with your visit, maybe you should check what baggage you have brought with you. I have been across the country, visited too many fine places in the short years of my life so far, but never have I found better food or service. When I go out, I go to Amore. Everyone I have told about this place has come back to me in love. My friends from the midwest are always asking about the staff. They loved the food and attention they recieved while visiting. Sean, You have an amazing restaurant and no matter where I live, I will always make the trip to join the atmosphere you supply. When I walk in the door everybody knows my name and remembers my order. I feel like a king and my friends live like royalty as soon as the first dish is served. Oh, I guess I should say a little something about the New Years Eve activities I enjoyed. I am left speachless with the joy I felt at the end of the night. There was something for everybody. Even a Rockabilly band that just astounded me. No complaints. If you are in need of a heart warmer or maybe just looking for some amazing traditional Italian food, you have found the place. Thanks Sean, Ernie and all the staff at Amore and I look forward to the next time I am in. Amore, A place for the heart powered with lover and set in the clouds by passion.

4 Stars: Where is Ryan Hazy??? (by caphillwinechaser)

Greetings. I must say that the ambiance and food was superb. I had intentionally gone to Amore to see about the well praised Ryan Hazy singing vegas showtunes and when i showed up. i was greeted politely at the door and then informed that Ryan Hazy is no longer there. I was saddened when i heard this. But as they say in france C'est LaVie. I was greeted with kindess and served promptly. The wait staff sure do know their stuff. I hope that they will bring him back. Because I want to get in touch with Ryan about a potential business proposition. We want him back in New York. He is a great actor. Thank you amore for a wonderful dinner and fine wine.

5 Stars: FALSE POSTING!!!!! (by ryanhazy)

Greetings! First and foremost... the previous posting entitled " THE RESTAURANT FROM HELL" is FALSE and UNTRUE...as a professional entertainer I have the UTMOST REPSECT for Chef Sean Langan for having given me the wonderful venue that he provides to many families and communities... it is unfortunate that there are people in this society that hold grudges against someone and decide to post things and make them to be other people. So, I want to apologize to Amore on behalf of this posting. I swear before God, I had nothing to do with this posting. I would also like to take a moment to say SEAN, if i may, That YOU ARE A GREAT MAN!!! it is becuase of your persistance with me and teaching me new things that i have come so far!!! Thank you for a wonderful venue and a great experience!!! I hope to do business with you in the FUTURE.. again... everyone please know that in my 3 months of working with Sean at Amore... the AMBIANCE IS GREAT... AND THE FOOD is SUPERB!!!! and despite what others may say... I think its the BEST ITALIAN FOOD IN TOWN!!!

5 Stars: The only resturant I go to in Seattle (by sjmrammstein)

To say I ate at Amore on Friday night is a huge understatement. I eat there all the time because of the ambience you get there. The staff are friendly and more than not, prompt with their service. The atmosphere is warm and very inviting. And the food is absolutely exhilerating! Every sinlge bite of their Misty Isle Fillet Mignon triggers such passionate responses in your mouth. It's like seeing a movie you love. Each time you go back, you experience something completely different. And sometimes the staff gets a little rowdy with each other, but that completely adds to the atmosphere that an italian resturant is; family!

1 Stars: WHAT A SHAME (by toughest_critic_in_town)

what a shame. this restaurant was one of my favorites then I went there on friday only to get the worst food ever. I was actually nasueated by the raw duck that I was served and when I went to the bathroom I looked into the kitchen to find one of the line cooks mopping up a mess from a blocked sewage drain that was backing up in the kitchen. when I returned to my table my wife and I left and we will never return this place is a health hazzard and should be shut down.

5 Stars: What a heart! What a place (by maddhatter66)

I have truly seen Amore, This is a place I go to often since it has opened a yr ago, The food is allways top notch in quality and perhaps some of the freshest ingredients that i have tried other then going straight to the farmer. The staff has allways been pleasant and treat me as if i was part of the family. I am truly touched what Sean and his staff along with 50 volunteers have done for the community and this is were I found the heart of Amore. Not many people realize or no this but on thanksgiving day Sean closed Amore to the public, he opened up that day with his staff and up to 50 volunteers and served thanksgiving meals to the homeless and people in need, they had streets teams takeing food to the city parks to the people that could not make it to the Amore, I had found out that they had served 450+ needy and homeless people for the sense of community. I was touched to find that this was mainly done by the proceeds of the restaurant and not done by much in the way of donations. My hat goes off to these people, for Sean, Cole, Earni, and all the staff and volunteers that had made there effort to make sure that on that day , that no one goes hungry!!! i will continue to support the Amore and to me it has a deeper meaning then just great food and freindly staff!!!!!!! I had never heard of such a fine place doing such a great thing...................
NOW THAT IS AMORE

5 Stars: Totally Kitsch!!! (by lilj)

I had a great time at Cafe Amore! The food was wonderful and the risotto cakes were to dye for! I had my friend try it at the Tuesday Comedy Open Mic. They should put a warning like at SeaWorld audience members will become part of the act, but in a good way =).

I've been there during other nights when they have the cabaret and that was always fun too. I really love the silent films and the staff is always complimentary and ready on their feet.

Cafe Amore is the type of place I want to take my friends from out of town to, because it's like no place else in the city!

3 Stars: Half Baked Dinner Theatre (by jeannqpublic)

No one expects to have dinner theatre put them off their food. You hope for some entertainment that is engaging while not making you completely forget the meal before you. Sadly, the cabaret show at Amore makes a person down their food and drink compulsively in an attempt to escape the drone of it's mostly bad acts.
While the menu holds up and delivers what it promises - excellent taste sensations (heavenly sauces) and the ambiance of the resturant is pleasing enough, the cabaret show is at least two-thirds atrocious and ultimately dysfunctional. For starters, there needs to be a dedicated emcee who can create a stir with his/her voice and can actually enunciate words. Although there were apparently some technical difficulties (no-really?) this should not be the time or place for a rehearsal run of the show. And as to the old radio detective show format, there are reasons they had REAL actors play those parts on the original shows: people who are not actors cannot act, and obviously none of them had ever read the script before. And there is another reason the old radio shows worked: you did not see players lack of expression or out of role costumes while the show was going on. Though there were a handfull of acts that were truly entertaining, they were eclipsed by cast members who either can't sing or can't choose arrangements that suit their voices, and an unintelligible announcer, as well as abrubt starts and stops of music, equipment failures and lack of sound effects for that dull radio thing. Someone really needs to rethink this disaster before the few good performers are thrown out with the overwhelmingly ( and here I'm being kind) mediocre. Perhaps the head of this debacle can salvage a show, e.g. concentrate on the bellydancer, the two female burlesque acts, and the female impersonator. Show business is brutal. Make sure your prospective performers have exceptional talent before you put them on stage. That's what auditions and rehearsals are for.

2 Stars: weird experience (by mysteryshopper1968)

We went there on friday for dinner. there was a cabaret show that reminded me of bad high school talent shows. the food was great. the ambiance nice and romantic. the chef (I think he was wearing a white chef's coat) was yelling at the wait staff and we could hear him yelling in the back too:( It made our entire party very uneasy. we finally got creeped out when the emcee of the show came up to our table and made some really bad jokes. we left... for good. i would not suggest this reataurant to anyone. the overall atmosphere is really very odd and almost aggressive. not a nice place.

5 Stars: Great food, good service and a genuinely fun show! (by lord_d)

My date and I and another couple went to the restaurant last weekend I got the chance to sample a couple of items between us and I have to say - mmmmm!!! That was one of the best meals I have had at any restaurant in this town (I do eat out a minimum of 4 times a week due to business) and I will be back this weekend. I suggest trying the spinach and garlic appetizer , (I can't yet recommend all of the pasta as I will have to work/eat my way through the menu) chicken with creamy cheese sauce and a wonderfully perfectly layered lasagna....CAUTION>>>>you may find yourself going into a Simpsonesque state of happiness while eating...Homer never had it so good. There's a cabaret show there now that is wonderful, with burlesque perfomers espciall the Fem who really keep it classy. The Barbara Streisand and especially the Eartha Kitt impersonators were spot on! We really enjoyed the singer Ryan too but would like more variety and a few less songs - he's really good nonetheless. All in all I'm sold - a good time, great food and a truly entertaining show! Thank you Cafe Amore!!!!

5 Stars: WOW the best Italian Food I've Had in Forever (by dranoel)

The Food was amazing the service even better the waiter/waitress was there at the door when I came in and had me seated in less than a minuet it was great, then the food was out to me in a matter of minutes after I ordered it and I just happen to stop in on a Friday night i think around like 10 or 10:30pm and the had a cabaret called Love and insanity?? i think thats what it was called but it was a great show they had impersonators and cross-dressers Burlesque dancers and belly dancers it was great but it was intended for the open minded and more mature audience all I can say is it was by far the best dining experience i have had in a long time...I would highly recommend it to any one looking for a nice relaxing night out or want to enjoy a show with dinner it was really very good!

Its almost like Teatro Zinzanni without having to spend over 100 bucks a person! Totally cool! I also saw the review in the seattle weekly! Way to go! I would say it is truly a splendid evening of cabaret, dinner, & the best damn happy hour in town!!!

5 Stars: BEST CABARET IN TOWN!!! (by ryan_blackwell)

I recently went to the Love & Insanity Cabaret show in Belltown at Cafe Amore. I had never been there before but a friend of mine told me about the DELICIOUS WINE selections as well as the most ecclectic selcetion of italian food on the market. I ordered the Chicken & Mushroom Fettucini and just as i did.. the overture started and the show began.. what a fun night.. everything from Barbara Streisand to Eartha Kitt to bellydancing and one of the most affordable dinners in town! I strongly reccommend this event to everyone. I guess the show is every friday and saturday night from like 10pm to midnight or so followed by a classic movie shown on their cinemas screen behind the stage.. what more could you ask for?? Dinner, a show, good drinks, AND A MOVIE!!! what a fun night!

5 Stars: The best kept secret in Seattle (by shbama)

We stumbled onto this restaruant. How lucky were we? The food is awesome. My husband had the spaghetti and said it wast the best he had ever had. I ordered an italian sandwich from the lunch menu and it was delish..the best was the salad. You could tell everything was so fresh. I wish we would have had time to visit this place one more time before we left. The staff was very professional. HIgh recommend.

3 Stars: Love This Place (by alhad)

Had dinner at Cafe Amore on a Saturday night. Got in without a reservation, and was presently surprised by the surroundings, service, food and entertainment. When we arrived about 8pm Roman Holiday was
playing on the big screen (no sound) and a silent film was shown later. Around 9pm a piano and singer (quite good) provided live entertainment. The bar was crowded, but the rest of the restaurant was not. I decided to write a review in hopes that this restaurant will continue to be around for another dinner. We had a very tender calamari for an appetizer and all were pleased with their entrees (the chicken, a prawn linguini, and a scallop dish). Portion size was good as was the presentation. The atmosphere is very romantic and our server was very professional. Give this restaurant a try. They did honor our Entertainment card.

5 Stars: Great place to bring a date (by moonlightdenada)

Service is exemplary and the food is well thought-out classical Italian...but ambiance is what this place is about.
2 Stars: BAD food, worse service (by kdahl5)

One of my party's meals was sent back TWICE. Once because a hair was on top of her salad (easily seen by everyone at our table).

They ran out of diet coke and did not apologize that I would not be getting a refill of my $2 drink.

Easily the worst lunch I've had in a long time. The chicken in my ceasar salad was boiled and stringy. It really tasted like it came out of a can.

Worst of all- they do not honor coupons printed from their website.

3 Stars: disappointed to say the least... (by lauwat)

Restaurant has a nice ambience but is not located in the glassblower's museum as stated in the entertainment book - they have moved a few doors down. Incidentally, my entertainment card was rejected because "they had moved" so I was disappointed on several counts including the food which was mediocre at best and covered with way too much cheese (better, more authentic Italian food can be found elsewhere in Seattle).
