I have 3 Ford products and 1 Toyota. I have 8 other makes but have been mostly a "Ford Man" for the past 11 years. I am rethinking that, though, because of the ridiculously high prices I have experienced in having repairs made recently, all at Wendel Motors. Most recently, I had a sudden failure of the alternator on my 2006 Ford Escape. It also, apparently, damaged the battery. Total cost, including taxes: $814. I called a competing Ford dealership and got a pretty firm quote of $739, including taxes. I got a 3rd quote from a highly trusted and respected (by me) independent garage who has done other work for me, and, using new Ford components, the estimate was right at $550. It was my misfortune that my 2006 Escape broke down near Wendel. A previous repair to a Mercury Cougar I had done there only 2 weeks earlier was $786, due to a clogged and damaged emissions hose and valve, to pass State emissions. 1 week later, the check engine light came on again. I think it worth the price of a tow to go elsewhere.

My Ford Escape broke down on Sherman pass due to the engine overheating. Come to find out, the hose clamps were left off at the factory.
I had the best extended warranty from Ford, but since it was a hose that caused the problem with the engine, not the engine itself, Ford didn't honor my warranty. (Never mind it was they who didn't connect the hoses.)
Ford corporate made me tow it a long way to the nearest authorized Ford dealer (using my money), Wendle Ford, and they basically told me they couldn't do anything to help me.
Long story short, Ford corporate then pulled a catch 22 with what they told me were their "local eyes and ears" & said since Wendle didn't see anything wrong with the engine, they couldn't do anything.
Needless to say, after 8 years of driving only Fords, we just bought our first Toyota -a Sequoia, and love it.
No wonder Ford is going bankrupt. Toyota pays its people to find defects. It's a shame, I used to love my Ford vehicles, but it's the principle of the matter. If you don't take care of your customers, they aren't going to take care of you.
My Spokane friend told me locals call it Swindle Ford, now I know why.

What a great place to look for a new vehicle! The sales people don't pressure or hassle you, but they are there if you have any questions or concerns. There is a wide variety of both new and used vehicles!
