I have been going to this store for about 10 years. This is a full service comic and popular culture store. The staff is great, very informed and quite friendly. They have just remodled the store and it is bright, clean and cheery. It is in the Pike Place Market and Wow - what a view! I wouldn't go anywhere else.

As a fan of comics, you can't go wrong with GAC. This place has an awesome collection of not just comics, but action figures, toys, cards, movie memorabilia, and other fun stuff. The staff is friendly and helpful, and you can't beat their prices. The perfect place to shop for all your geeky needs.

PROS: lots of rare items, helpful staff
CONS: located in pike place so it's often crowded

Y'know the Comic Book Guy on the Simpsons? This is his shop. It is heavy on the Marvel/Figurine bent that I'm not really into, but I go for the small alternative comics collection, and the large bins of cool movie posters. I got a great one from "The Blob" there once. They also sell actual screenplays, and black and white star glossies. Golden Age Collectibles is not a destination, but if you are wandering about the Pike Place Market and like comics, you should make a point to stop in . . . they do have a lot of stuff.

I love this store. Golden Age Collectables has been the place I get my comics since I was a boy. Now I take my son there too. They are down at the Pike Place Market and recently remodeled the store. Now it is even better. They carry all my favorite comics, but that's not all - they have movie posters, autographs, baseball cards, and toys from movies and television shows. What keeps me coming back is the staff, they all always cheerful, knowledgeable and helpful. This is the best comic store I have ever been in. Go see them! You'll love it.

Pros: Lots of selection, Clean and bright, affordable

I often am tasked with finding last minute gifts for visiting VIP's and dignitaries, and Golden Age is a great source for memorabilia. It is quite expensive, but if you want something fun for the movie or comic buff, you can not beat the selection...especially if you do not have the lead time for ordering online. Their movie scripts are especially unique as a gift.

PROS: unique Items
CONS: expensive

Golden Age Collectibles is one of the stops I make in Pikes Market when visiting Seattle. This shop is loaded with comics--old and new--as well as many collectibles, merchandise, magazines, toys, and even movie scripts. This place looks like a gold mine in this marketplace.

Everything you want is almost here, even though they are short on the Japanese and items. However, be wary of the prices. It seems like everything is overpriced compared to other shops. My guess is that it is catering towards the tourists who fall in their trap. However it's nice to know there are items available at this place if you can't find it anywhere else.

My recommendation is to get the very old comics if you can afford them. Just make sure the condition is more than subpar becuase you don't want to pay an arm and a leg for nothing.

PROS: Terrific selections, lots of merchandise
CONS: Tourist trap, overpriced

this comic books store has a lot of selections for those of you who love comics. not many japanese anime, however. unfortunately, since this store is located within the pike's market area, a tourist-y area, the prices of these comic books are pretty high than normal. however, still pretty cheap, but not as cheap as the usual other comic book stores. yet, my boyfriend has been purchasing comic books at this store for about 10 years. he feels that it has the most comic books, and it is worth the price, anyhow.

Golden Age Collectibles in the Pike Place Market is worth a look just to see the unusual products off the beaten path that you wouldn't normally find. But I don't recommend buying anything here. I collect card games, and can always beat their price by 50% on the web or even with other local vendors.

PROS: Big selection
CONS: Overpriced, shop elsewhere for your collectible needs

Buried in the Pike Place Market, Golden Age is mecca for comic book lovers. Filled to the brim with action figures, cutouts, postcards, comic books, posters and movie scripts, this is a media haven that even Seattleites will venture into the market for. To get there, enter the market by the pig and head down the ramp in front of you, weaving down and to your left. You'll know you're there when you see the huge cardboard cutouts of Luke & Leia from Star Wars.
