I started taking my puppy there about 2 months ago and I have been really pleased with everything. They are a tad bit on the expensive side but they are great to work with. They love my puppy too. The vet and the workers are great with her and treat her great. The pricing isnt horrible either. The appointment fee is around $40 and then they add the vaccinations etc on top of that. It's just somewhat expensive because of all the different vaccines that puppies need. Other than that they have never charged me for something I didnt need and they try to give me free samples for things like food/treats/flea killer, etc. They have been great and I will continue to go there.

Two months ago I was told to shove pills down my cat's throat, which had done nothing but torture her. The poor creature cannot even sleep for the other difficulties this vet brushed away. It turns out her heart wasn't just "nothing" her ribs are heaving in time with the rapid beating of her poor little heart, like a bellows, and there is no comfort we can give her.
We know we have no other options now, but she's grown so weak and fragile that it would just be one more cruelty to take her on another scary and painful car ride just for "the big sleep"- and I'm certainly not going to this cretin!
I so wish I could locate the vet I'd seen in the phone book a while ago who does home visits. I too thought this was a great find, as they are convenient. I hope never to watch another animal suffer like this!

All I can say is that if you are on any kind of budget (and who isn't) and don't like to be made to feel bad when you question the need for a visit or treatment, then avoid NE Vet hospital. I don't think they value money over your pet, or I don't want to believe that, but I don't think they appreciate that money is tight and all we would like are the options, not a guilt trip.
FYI, we got our kitten from the humane society, and took her to NE vet for her "free" checkup (this is something you get when you adopt from HS). Well, free it was NOT.

I have just started taking my pets there and have nothing but good things to say. They have an amazing set of doctors who have gone over and beyond to help make sure my dog gets the care he deserves. I have never seen such compassion and individual care. The staff was very friendly, helpful and informative. The atmosphere of the building is very inviting. They met my expectations and then some. Their prices were a little high but like the other lady said..you get what you pay for!!! Their service and expertise makes up for the higher amount on the bill. I would recommend them to anyone and everyone!

All of you with complaints against this hospital, take action! File a complaint with the Washington State Department of Health, which licenses veterinary hospitals. They have a website. Just Google it.
The North End Pet Hosptial is a pretty fancy looking place with a large staff, but they subsidize it with some pretty hefty fees and questionable treatment practices.
I will just say this: when I took my cat to this vet, his only problem was a dragging tail. Otherwise he was fine _ walking, running, eating well. When I got him back two hours later, he could not use his hind legs, had no appetite and was completely lethargic. I thought he would die.
They charged me about $150, and wanted another $250 for tests that I felt were unnecessary. The vet was offended when I questioned her treatment!
I took my cat to another vet who made a different diagnosis and succesfully treated my cat, reversing the damage the North End Pet Hospital did to my pet. The second vet, by the way, was way, way, less expensive.
But most importantly, my cat is walking again. And I am definitely filing a complaint against this vet.

I had heard some bad things about this vet practice from a couple of neighbors who had bad experiences but my cats were heatlhy and so far they seemed nice and they were conveniently located close to home.
Now I'm wishing I would have listened and switch before my cat became ill.
My cat stopped eating, and was coughing and vomitting up bile. They ran the gammit of tests on him for over $500 and felt he had pneumonia. He did seem to get a little better and started eating a little again, only to get worse again. So another $500 and they are telling me still, "some kind of pathology" and they want to do more tests. Now it's been over a month and a $1,000 my cat is obviously dying, he's wasting away and I feel like I'm getting no where. Time for a new vet. He immediately looks at the x-ray that I hand deilivered from old vet to new vet (which they reminded me was their property and needed to be returned... I'm sorry didn't I pay for those? ) Any way new vet takes one look ands says, I don't see why this was so hard to interpret he obvously has a bunch of tumors in his lungs, that with his symptoms, pretty easy to diagnose lung cancer. So, that was only $60- in all fairness he proably would have atleast x-rayed him if the old vet had not, so another 80-100, for a grand total of $160 and one visit! Hmmmmmmm......What's going on? And just where was the report from the radiologist that they sent the second set of x-rays over to help them interpret? Strange that it wasn't in with his notes. So, one has to wonder, incompentent or unethical?
Unfortunately I didn't take some neighborly advice but you should... Stay Away!

After having spend almost $1000.00 to get a pancreatic issue diagnosed with my German Shepherd, they then tried to rip me off on the necessary meds (which she will need for the rest of her life) at over a 300% mark-up! When I found these EXACT same meds at a savings of $200.00 (per month) they refused to give the perscription to the pharmacuetical provider! They were aware that I was moving away the very next day and that my vehicle was in the shop. They told me that I would have to come down within 2 hours and get it in writing and give it to the other company myself. BEWARE OF DR DUDLEY AND THE NORTH END PET HOSPITAL IN TACOMA, WA THEY ARE RIP-OFFS AND CARE MORE ABOUT MONEY THAN YOUR PRECIOUS PETS!!
PROS: NONE!
CONS: Do not care about the welfare of my pets or long standing clientele!!

We take all our pets and wouldn't go anywhere else. It starts when you walk in the door-it doesn't smell like an animal clinic! My dogs love to go there because of all the treats and love they get. They practically run in the door!
My cat was very sick and the vets there were all helpful and honest and stuck with me until we could figure out what was wrong. When we had to say goodby to Sheila even the doctor had tears in his eyes and the staff were all so kind to us.
I will not go anywhere else even tho I know there are cheaper vets in town. You really do get what you pay for!
PROS: Kind, honest people
CONS: None!

I took my new kitten to the vet for the recommended follow-up visits and first set of shots. The location was perfect for my needs. I liked the staff and the doctor herself, very nice and professional. Good clean office. They also offered pet food and other products for purchase on site. I have many friends who use this office and all referred me there with confidence.
PROS: service, cleanliness, location
CONS:
