I recently ate here and had an great experience. The waitress was friendly, the food was amazing and it was at a reasonable price. Everything is made fresh in the open window kitchen. The decor is old modern feeling and very relaxed. They serve a new quiche every day and their crab quiche was delicious. I recommend stopping in here when you're wanting something not mainstream.

This cafe has been around a while. If you like the art deco, wine and fine dining of a French Restaurant and are ready to spend a few extra dollars for some quiet this would be a great spot.

My husband (who is a vegetarian) and I stopped here on the way from Seattle to Missoula and we were very impressed! The food is very elegant, the service is outstanding and the atmosphere is quaint and homey. For this type of food you would expect to pay twice as much. We asked if we could take a menu with us so we could spread the word around Montana and Seattle. This is by far the best place to eat between Seattle and Montana.

Pros: Great Service, Great Food, Cute Booths

Cons: Off the beaten path

The Valley Cafe has been one of my favorite stops for the past 30 years. The ownership is the same and it has survived because of the location in a nice college town. It is an alternative to the "cowboy" atmosphere of Ellensburg. The food is original, fresh, organic when possible, and delicious. A great place to eat if you are looking for more choice than a hamburger or steak.
