Scarecrow Video

Scarecrow video is amazing. They have all the movies you wished the big chains carried. Then ones that are out of print, obscure, indie, or otherwise.
While we live quite a ways from Scarecrow I will occasionally venture across town to rent here as I know they will have what I need.
I highly recommend going to check it out if you haven't already.

If you haven't ever found a particular video, they have it in stock. They RENT rare videos, Lazerdiscs, and DVDs. Some items have a ridiculously high deposit, because they are worth that much! the organization is somewhat hard to understand, but once you find your favorite sections, its fun to see what's been added since last time. Rental prices slightly high, but for the rarity, that's OK.

it's a fact that scarecrow video is the greatest video store on the planet. they have everything from the latest blockbuster to the most obscure films on the planet. the downside is that when a movie is out of print you have to put down a deposit, and sometimes, like once with me, you put a deposit on a movie you did not expect to be out of print. For example, FARGO, was out of print for a brief period of time and in order for me to rent it, I had to put a hold on, like $300 in my account.

PROS: they have everything
CONS: steep deposits, steeper late fees.

Scarecrow is quite possibly the greatest place in existence. They have more foreign films that the host countries themselves. 99% of the time you can find it at Scarecrow even though the chain stores have no record of it even existing. To go anywhere else is not only stupid, it should be a crime.

Scarecrow is by far the best rental store in Seattle, and quite possibly the world! I have never seen such an amazing collection. I always spend more time in there than I plan. Their directors section is great and there is always something I want to pick up that I had not thought of before.
They also sell used DVDs and videos. If there is somethign you are looking for, Scarecrow is sure to have it. I love how they categorize their films. It's not just a music section or even a musicals section, but they have a rock and roll section and a special shelf for rock musicals! And they ahve a handy computer on each floor to help you find what your are looking for.

With the best selection in the Northwest, this video rental store is your best bet for finding any hard-to-find video or DVD titles in the Seattle area.
Videos are sorted by Director and by Country of origin on the main floor, and upstairs are more categorized by topic, such as music, documentary, etc.
Some of the rarer titles may require a large deposit which you will get back as soon as you return the video.
Prices are good, especially if you pay around $30 in advance which allows you to rent 10 videos (doesn't have to be all at once).

This is the tops for all movies rentals. They provide all the goods. Foriegn,animation,new, indie, hollywood, old, silent, etc. They have it all. Seriously, they have all the usuals for a typical video store as well. This place has never let me down when I'm looking for something I havent seen but that is good.
I can only say good things about it. If you're a movie geek, you have to go here. You will not be disappionted. Trust me.

Scarecrow Video has the video you're looking for. Specializing in eclectic, foreign, hard-to-find videos from Albania to Zimbabwe. If it exists, they have it, or at least can help you get it. They also rent multi-region devices to allow you to enjoy worldwide content.

From the outside it may not look like much of a video store, but inside it is fantastic, video's galore, and it feels like you are walking through somebody's house looking for a movie rather than a regular plain store. It is very unique and I have enjoyed renting from them many times. Also very affordable and nice people

My best friend worked at Scarecrow for years, so I was introduced to the store by a true expert. This video store will literally floor you with all they have to offer. They have all the new movies and an incredible selection of new and old foreign films. The store has arranged their film selections according to director, genre, and country. It's not difficult to find what you're looking for but they have a lot of staff to help if you have any problems.

Located in the U District, Scarecrow is my favorite place in Seattle (that is still open) to rent movies. The library is vast! The staff is knowledgeable and always ready to give recommendations as it can be a little overwhelming to find a good movie on your own, Though Ive found my favorite director by just browsing through the aisles. You can find movies categorized by country, director or genre.

One of the best things in Seattle, and definitely worth the trek even if you have lots of video stores by your house. Besides an excellent website and movie guide book, the store itself is a wonder. They have pretty much any video you could ever want, even ones no one else has! They are great for hard to find, rare videos. Don't let the deposit on those rare ones scare you - it just means the video is out of print. As long as you take care with the product everything will be fine. The place is always packed with movie lovers, which is part of the fun. They support and stock LOTS of independent films - no corporate "Rewards Program" or focus on Hollywood Megahits here. The staff is super-knowledgeable, and there is a computer available to look up availability of a movie if you don't want to ask for help. It's got to be the best video store I've been to EVER!

If you're into film, this is the rental place for you. Scarecrow carries every movie, ever, pratically, regardless of how obscure. They have a large selection of videos for sale, both new and used, and a great selection of foreign and indie films. Itis located in the U-district just north of 45th Ave.
